I agree, when I weigh myself several times a day the amount can be off several lbs. Now I usually weigh every morning, but only log/report once a week or so :)

I think you just made my day op, thank you! Surely this doesn't mean giving up on my goals, but I hope they'll be easier for me to reach now. Gosh I wish it was that easy to start loving yourself. But at least it's something to aim for in addition to getting healthy ^.^

Thank you for your thoughts, guys! I think I'll look into this some more. I've always had problems with hormonal balance and if nothing else I hope I can find some tips about how to get healthier by eating right :)

Well done :) I lost 8 lbs during my first week, but it always starts like that for me. At first my weight goes down, then it gets stuck. My second weigh-in is tomorrow, and I'm not expecting much results... Point being, great job for those pounds - they are likely to stay off, too!

I feel for all of you who are struggling with low or nonexistent self-esteem, 'cause I've totally been there. Still am. It's even harder to appreciate yourself when the people around you only give you negative feedback. Luckily I've noticed that folks here in MFP are really supportive, so maybe we can learn to love…
