Hi, I have almost exactly the same stats as you (5' 4", 156 lbs, 34 years old) and I find that I lose best when I eat around 1300 calories per day. I also run 3x per week and lift 2x per week and I eat back my exercise calories. I'm working on getting back into shape post-baby and I plan to keep eating around 1300 calories…

I was just looking for new snacks! Thanks!

This looks great - thanks!

Hi April, we're on a new board now that we're a "group". Come over to us! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/834-team-h20 I'm glad to see that you're back and I read about your C25k plan on your blog. I'm excited for you!

Hi everyone! It's great to see people back on here! I'm going to make a similar challenge to Nikki and say my goal is to work out 4x per week, including lifting weights twice per week and running at least once. I want to be able to do 30 push ups (I'm at 21 now), and I want to keep my sugar/chocolate consumption low until…

Yes I'd be in - I've kicked myself in the butt lately and I'm back to lifting weights twice a week and trying to get back on track. I'd love to have another thread because I miss you guys! A Christmas challenge?

I haven't been around much the past week or two, with work being extra crazy (midterm season!) and being sick for those couple of weeks. But I'll get caught up on all of your posts soon. I just wanted to say that I ran my first race today - a 10K! My husband did it too, and it was his first race too. My training fell off a…

PS. Thans for the advice ladies, it was very useful!

Well, after being off for two weeks, I ran this morning, and it was rough. I was back with my running partner (she was off for a week with a sore ankle), and we must have walked as much as we ran. We managed the first couple of miles ok, but then had to run/walk and then just walk because her ankle was bugging her. I was…

I haven't really been on this board for the past two weeks because I've been sick with the cold everyone seems to have. I was finally getting better, and then I got a LOT worse. So one visit to the doctor later I'm armed with antibiotics for the unshakable sinus infection! I've been really careful with my eating for the…

I have the same issue, but I LOVE Lucky Sweet N Low jeans. They're a bit more expensive than other jeans, but they fit so beautifully that it's worth it for me. I'm on my 3rd pair and they're still fantastic.

Thanks for the new challenges April! I have to say, the lunge challenge is a great one because I'd been getting lazy with my lunges ("maybe I'll just do sets of 8 today instead of sets of 15..."), but now I'm back up to sets of 15 and they're going well. Miles run: 49.2/150 Lunges: 410/1,000 Squats: 30/150 I wasn't as…

Nikki - Yay for finishing a 12 mile run! Your blisters may be screaming at you, but you did it and that's amazing! You are an inspiration for us new runners! Molly - clothes fitting better is the goal, so congratulations on that, and the rest of the weight will come off in time. I've been back and forth over the same 3 lbs…

I love the new challenges! I'm (finally!) back after being away for most of August, and I started today off with a run. Feels good to be back at it and I'll have to get on with the push-ups/lunges/crunches!

I can't wait to try the blue cheese!

Generally it's reasonable to accept your HRM as more accurate, but they may both be off. Everyone is different, but the numbers seem a bit high for a 40 minute walk. I used my Garmin HRM for a 1 hr walk last week (distance was 4 miles) and I burned 305 calories. My polar HRM (with chest strap) would have given me about…

I'll go next for introductions! I'm Lisa and I'm and I've been with this group since last year - thankfully I discovered these wonderful women right after I joined MFP. I've recently taken up running and my goal is to log all 150 miles running. I'm training for my first race, a 10k in October, so that should help. I teach…

I managed a 3.3 mile run this morning, on the first morning of my vacation, and it was GREAT at the beginning, where it was all downhill. I'm used to running on the prairies, where it's flat, and then there's more flat... So the downhill part at the beginning was great, and the flat part at the bottom of the mountain was…

April Val - thanks for the great challenge! I have been striving for 125 miles by labour day, but I'll change it to 150 by Hallowe'en. This should work with my other personal challenge where I've signed up for a 10k race on Oct 23! Ckrlegs - we're happy to provide encouragement and/or a kick in the butt as required!…

I agree, the first one without the heart is less distracting and you focus more on the couple and the sentiments. The darker edges on the heart-less one spotlight the hands, which I really like.

Cazz - new circuits are the worst! But think how great it will be in a few weeks when it feels easier! Pam - welcome back! I hope work slows down a bit for you. Nikki - sorry to hear you're having a tough running week, but awesome that you're powering through! I hope you're enjoying your long weekend  Today I went…

The photo logging is a great idea! Way less time consuming than trying to write it down on a note in your phone or something. Just snap a pic to remind yourself what you ate...I'm going to try that when I'm on my next trip.

From what I understand whey protein is "best" with water after a workout and milk at other times. I've been told that they whey is absorbed more quickly with water, getting to your muscles faster after a workout. Apparently it is absorbed less quickly with milk (I think it's to do with the casein in milk, which forms a…

Just a quick note - last night's dinner was inspired by Christine's Club 33 experience and I must say it was very successful! I sauteed shrimp, shallots and garlic, then took them out and sauteed watermelon, balsamic vinegar and water until the juices made a syrup. Then I combined them, topped them with chopped cucumber…

Nikki - I'm glad you had a great time with your girlfriends! You totally deserve a chance to cut loose and enjoy, and you're putting in to the miles to make up for a couple of drinks  And it sounds like your son's case might not be so terrible - I hope it comes out with just minor fines, and that he's learned his…

Jen - it sounds like you've had a good week! New shorts that fit, pants that are so close, and you've rocked the 30DS! That's awesome! Are you shredding again or trying something new? BJ - congrats on the loss and being in the 130s! That's such an accomplishment! Are you quite close to your goal weight? Nikki - I totally…

I just went through this last week! My bridesmaid dress was ordered a few months, and about 15 pounds, ago. When I tried it on it was laced all the way closed in the corset back and it was still way too big on top. They pinned it so that it was taken in a couple of inches on each side and I'm picking it up tomorrow. It…

Crystal - Happy Anniversary and I'm sorry to hear about the chicken pox! I can't believe your daughter has them in her hair...that must suck so badly for everyone. And you CAN do it again, you will eat healthy and hopefully it'll be easier now because you know it can be done. Nikki - It's awesome that you ran 4 miles and…
