There is no proof that drinking lots of plain water helps weight loss. Almost everyday someone in these forums posts that they struggle with drinking so much water. No matter what others say, they seem to ignore anyone who doesn't agree with the idea that we need so much plain water....and yet they wonder why it's so hard…

Now THAT'S the best SUCCESS STORY I have read in a long time.

I don't have the answer for you. Seriously, I doubt that anyone does. I know that sounds discouraging, but think about it for a minute. Can the comments of total strangers (let alone people we know) REALLY cause something inside of us to change? You asked for straight talk and I'm not saying these things to be mean....just…

All you can do is try it and see if you like it.

"That sounds like a really whiny topic title, doesn't it? YUP.

Speaking for myself and a few others I have discussed this with...... There have been times in our lives when we ate...and ate...and ate....not because we were hungry but just because we loved everything about eating. We ate until we were sick sometimes. I have no analysis on why that occurs. It just seems to be something…

The world is full of different foods. Eat what tastes good to you.

I can't speak for "you". But for me...including my beer in caloric intake hasn't affected my weightloss.

Find an exercise you enjoy. For me it's bicycle riding. Two pounds per week is aggressive...but doable. Good luck!
-
By your measurements, it sounds like you ARE DOING GREAT! Keep doing what you are doing. The scale will eventually show a change.
-
My goal is 30 minutes of bike riding five times a week. I usually exceed that by quite a bit. Just checked my history and have been averaging seven hours per week.
-
I tried it. It didn't lower my blood pressure. I didn't like the taste.
-
I guess if it makes you physically ill then it's normal to be repulsed.

The Stoics of old could not have put it better. Thanks for this post.

Good versus bad calories? Well, personally I never met a calorie I didn't enjoy...LOL. Of course I can only speak from my experience. I eat pretty much anything I like. My body doesn't seem to be able to tell the difference between 100 calories from an apple or from a beer. Go figure!

OK Interesting.
-
"Do you eat back your calories exercised? " Usually. Sometimes I'm not hungry enough so I don't.

To each his own. Some like marriage...some...not so much.

Honestly, I have no idea what motivates me. There are lots of reasons to eat right and exercise. However, those reasons do not motivate me. It sounds like they don't motivate you either. I have a theory though. There is something in a person's psyche that just "clicks" one day and they decide to do whatever it is they…

What is your resting pulse rate?

Have no idea what a "troll" is but here are some facts for you. Even if you choose not to believe these people, it shows there is definitely controversy over whether or not "8 glasses/day" is a myth or not. It would be interesting to know why you believe it's NOT a myth. Peace. Eight glasses of water a day an urban myth'?…
