I started running on the treadmill because one day it was 17 degrees when I went out. (And I live in the desert!) I did end up completing my full C25K on the treadmill. The transition to outside was tough. The first time I couldn't even run 5 minutes. (I was still doing C25K at the time. After I had run a full 5K on the…

BTW, if you are looking for a (free!) app to put pictures together like that (and the one in my profile) check out PicStitch. (iPhone---not sure about android). It is very easy to use. Just click on the layout (from 1-6 pictures). Click on an empty box and select a picture form your camera. You can add other stuff (like…

Thanks! I've always hated before shots that show someone in something frumpy and ugly pair with the after shots that are all glamourous! I want them to be realistic. Soon, though, I'll have to change my pants for the picture! lol :)

Great job!! Thanks for sharing! My current weight is also 266 (I am down 40 pounds as of today).

Awesome progress!!

You look amazing!! My starting weight was just 3 less than yours (but I'm 4 inches shorter and almost twice your age!!)

That is great! Thanks for sharing!

Congratulations on getting rid of the pounds AND cutting the ties to your security blanket! It would be great if we could organize a board to trade off old clothes. I haven't shrunk out of any of my clothes yet, but I'm finally fitting in to some of my smaller clothes. I hate to invest $$$ into sizes I don't plan to hang…

Old Navy has some good ones. If you've never signed up with them before, join their e-mail club. You will be a 20% off coupon in your in box (I got mine immediately). Also, free shipping if your order is over $50. I got some for Mother's day, I really like them. The shirts are longer than I expected. I got one regular tank…

We graduated at the same time. And I'm having the same struggle. After a couple of weeks of wandering aimlessly, I was having trouble getting back into the run. I decided to start the Zen Labs 10K program. (It includes the C25K program I did, but weeks 9-16 are 10K training). I did the first new day W9D1. Run 10, walk 1…

Okay...folow up question..... What about the strength class at the gym with weights? Is that a good introduction? (And a chance to perfect my form?) I tried one class with very low weights (5# on each side). We did squats, rows, clean and jerk, and a few others (remember I'm new to this!) while standing, and we did some…

I had never had an issue with PF until about a year ago. I was walking (not running) at the time, and I thought I had injured myself. I had a cortisone shot then. When I started walking seriously in January---and C25K shortly after---I had to make another trip to the podiatrist. I really didn't want another shot (they hurt…

I sent you a request. I'm about 40 pounds into a 150 pound journey. Also, we'd love to have you in the Starting Over 100+ to lose group. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/10692-starting-over-100-ladies- Julie

The first month of my healthy eating, one of my co-workers kept asking, "Are you getting tired of eating carrots? I'm getting tired of watching you eat carrots". I got a bit irritated (but didn't say anything). By the end of the 2nd month---especially when I still made healthy choices while out of town for a training---she…

I definitely see it in your face. I know where you are coming from. I'm down 40 pounds, but I still have over 100 to go. I keep a few side by side pics in on my phone to remind me when I get discouraged.

WOW!!! That is amazing!

Awesome job!

The first week of the bridge program had me running a total of 40 minutes and walking 13 (including 5 minute warm up and 5 minute cool down).

That is awesome! About 4 years ago, I did a ROPES course. It included climbing a tower. I really wanted to do it, but I was just not strong enough. I'm looking forward to going back some day and conquering it---just like you did!

Wow! You don't even look like the same person! I especially like the side by side pics with the black shirt. You can really see the difference!

You look great! You started pretty close to where I am now. So inspiring to see that it can be done!

I'm very inspired by your story. I started at 306, and I've been training for a 5K. I don't know if I'll ever try for a half marathon. I didn't expect to enjoy running. But I surprised myself! I'm slow (I can do a 5K under an hour---best time 54:30). But I'm improving! Thanks for sharing your story!

That is awesome! You have done a great job. Keep it up!

Try them both. I don't like spinning (so far), but I may try it again some time. I LOVE Zumba. Now that I've lost almost 40 pounds and I've strengthened my legs by a lot of walking and running, I might be able to do a spin class. The best exercise for you is the one you'll do. (Or the two you'll do if you decide you like…

I never use the timer. I just wear my FitBit One all day (and occasionally at night). I don't drive for more than 10-15 minutes at a time most days (but I do several of those drives a day as a do hour long home visits). I rarely have stairs (I don't go into very many 2 story buildings--except my gym. But some days I have…
