My first race won't be until July: The Alien Chase. (I live in Roswell, NM). There is a zoo run next month that was going to be my first, but I am doing the Walk for Hope (cancer walk) on Friday from 6pm to midnight. I didn't think it would be wise to attemp my first 5K the next morning! :)

WooHoo!! Welcome to the alumni! :)

Awesome! Thanks for sharing!

Wow! That is amazing!

Awesome! I finished the Zen Labs app about 3 weeks ago. Isn't it an incredible feeling?!?! You are a runner!! :) Welcome to the alumni! :)

I was originally weighing in 1 time a week (on Tuesday---just because that was the day I started). Lately, I've been weighing in every morning. Mostly because I realize that my weight fluctuates during the week, and I wanted to see the pattern. I've been posting daily because I want the graph to show the up and down…

I'm "only" 5'7". I have a friend who has lost 110 (or more?) pounds. She is 6'1", but she ins't on MFP.

I want to know too! :)

You find out your job might be ending in June, and you desperately NEED to go for a run. (Blogged about it here: http://halfajulie.blogspot.com/2013/04/a-major-shift-in-my-thinking.html)

I've been collecting some of these and putting them on my blog (http://halfajulie.blogspot.com). Here are some of my favorites.

I have graduated (2 weeks ago), and I still cannot run more than 4MPH at all. And I am lucky to make it through one song (3-5 minutes) at that speed. The 4 times I've run the full 3.1 miles has taken me most of an hour. (roughly 20 minute mile or 3.0 MPH).

I'm hoping to lose some cup size. Right now, I'm down 32 pounds (just over 10% of my starting weight). I started in a 48DDD. Yesterday I bought a 44DDD that fits perfectly.

That I am stronger than I think I am. I AM a runner!

You both look awesome! That is great that you did it together!

I tried it for a couple of weeks, but I had the opposite effect. It did not give me energy or give me the jitters. I felt like a zombie. Apparently my body reacts differently.

My company started a walking program with a cheap pedometer in November. Each month our goals changed. (First month was just 5000 3 times a week.) This month it is 25,000 steps a week. In January, I started walking a bunch. I walked over 80 miles in January. I got my FitBit at the end of February, and I don't think I've…

No, I didn't have knee pain. Everyone once in a while I'll have a little bit, but not much. I've had more trouble with my foot (plantar fascitis) and my ankle.

I started doing the C25K on the treadmill because it was too cold to run outside. (And we had a very short cold time---not like you guys!) But I'd encourage you to try 2 days on treadmill and one outside. It's tough to make the transition outside. Last night I ran just over a mile outside.

Trying to fit it into my day and still have a family life! I work full time (outside the home). Fortunately I have a flexible job. I often work out first thing in the morning. My gym does have childcare, so that helps with that excuse.

I have my husband take pictures (front and profile) on the first Saturday of every month. I wear the same outfit each time. It's also been fun finding pictures of the old me in the same outfit I have on (like in my profile picture.) One of the best before and after threads (sorry, I can't remember the user name) had a…

This is what I was going to say. Especially with a cardio/dance class. Keep your feet moving. If they are doing a fancy step, try a step touch. (Right foot out. Left foot close. Left foot out. Right foot close). It will keep your heart rate from bottoming out. Also, don't worry about your hands. Even if the teacher is…

As the most recent C25K graduate here (I think) here are some tips: 1. Start slow and stay slow. Don't worry about how far you run, just working on running during the runs. 2. Remember that your head will give out long before your legs do. Just keep running. 3. Get the best shoes you can (preferably with professional…

Try slowing down. Don't worry about time, just work on getting the runs done. That helped me a lot!

I'm going to work on getting faster. (It still takes most of an hour to run my 3 miles.) And I'm going to work on running outside. I'll probably try to do at least one run a week (Saturday?) outside. Also, I want to work on increasing my distance. If I can run 4 or 5 miles, then I have a better chance of completing my 5K…

I was about 290 when I started. I just graduated today---at 275.

Graduated 4/9/03. And completed a (2nd) full 5K. First was 4/4 (58 minutes). This one was slower (59:41).

Awesome! My friend was at that game too! :) We never made it to AT&T park, but we attended quite a few games at Candlestick. (Now we are 1200 miles away).
-
Awesome!! Definitely changes!

Thanks for encouragement everyone!

Still have a long way to go, but this is about 30 pounds.
