  • Both apparently work the same, so whatever makes you comfortable should be fine. I think I am ready to start phase 2 and will do the 1-1. Allows me to eat out with more flexibility and I really miss those veggies!
  • Hang in there! Everyone's body is different and frankly, 2 lbs in 3 days is great. I lost 1.5 in 3 days and now, amazingly, in a week, I am down 4 lbs. that is fine with me. Over the weekend I went out to dinner and while I didn't eat a lot, I ate something not in the diet, had a drink, and still lost. I am walking 1/2…
  • Just starting seriously to get back to walking. Weight about 158 and am pretty good at keeping track of food intake (During the week, anyway.). Can't imagine losing 10 in a month---will be thrilled with 4. How do you do this?????
  • True, it doesn't matter when you eat. I try to conserve at least 100 calories to eat at night, since I am up late working, have hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) and need to eat protein about every 3-4 hours.
  • You are an inspiration! I have a minimum of 20 lbs to lose and then we'll see. Have lost 4 lbs in my first week with minimal exercise. You are right - sticking to it during the week and allowing yourself a treat or two on the weekend is a great way to stick to this healthy way of eating. Congratulations on 100 lbs!
  • I get what you are saying, but don't worry. If you are exercising, you are burning fat and building muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, so the scale reflects that. It is lean muscle and at some point the lbs will drop off, probably all at once. Just keep doing what you are doing and you will see!
  • Count me in!
  • Just started with MFP last week, at highest weight ever -- 160. Aarrrggh. So far, so good. Would like to lose minimum of 20 lbs in as long as it takes. Let's see how far I can go by the end of March.
  • Yep. If I can't measure it by cups or spoons, I weigh it. Helps especially with meat, fish, cheese portions.
  • WW never worked for me and since I travel for work all the time, the meetings are out. I started with the mayo clinic diet last week and am now using MFP to keep track. Love it and am down 3,5 lbs in five days . Putting in what I eat and having it calculate as I go along, automatically, keeps me honest and on track.
  • I am hypoglycemic, which I need higher protein and lower carbs than most people. As long as I stay within my calorie allowance for the day, I don't worry about it and I am surely less hungry. Best snack for me is almonds.

  • I'm new, too. Started yesterday and while I can't exercise because of pending surgery and then recovery, I started yesterday with a 1200 calorie exchange diet to get rid of 20 lbs or so. Doing a combination of the Mayo Clinic diet (the real one) and an ADA 1200 cal exchange diet because I need more protein than the Mayo…
