I am pretty calorie/weight loss conscious. Nothng like this though. If you are seriously thinking like this you may want to step back for a while.

I love this!! For me, It really is simple. It does get more difficult as you get towards your goal weight, but I cannot believe how many fad diets I had tried and failed before coming to MFP. For me, it was all in portion control....duh!

The main advantage for me is dinner is ready when I get home from a long day. I don't use it that often but there are a ton of things to make other than meat dishes. Crock pots are also great for parties...keeping hot meat balls or roast beef warm in.

samesies...I could eat them at every meal hard boiled, egg whites, frittatas, quiche, egg salad, deviled eggs, over easy, poached, scrambled, egg foo young...

I think this is a fantastic move on your part!! I wonder if that feeling of being "sick and heavy" create a distraction from the other issues which are causing you pain. Good luck. You must get mentally healthy first.

Jennifer, make sure you see a cardiologist, not just a family doctor

I am guilty of most of these...very funny!!

Good advice!!

all great advise above. I would like to add by saying you dont need to excerise to lose weight. It helps and it's great for fitness but if you eat at a calorie deficit you will lose weight. The tricky part is finding that magic "number" where you are at a calorie deficit yet not depriving or starving yourself. Working full…

I love the pumpkin...as you can see. I don't usually look at fat or worry about it but was a little disappointed when someone told me there is 5grams of saturated fat in them

I started MFP at age 47. I am now 50 and lost 40+ lbs. I have regained about 5 and am working on dropping them again. Logging and counting my calories and weight fluctuations has shown me how much damage just a couple hundred extra calories/day can cause. It is more difficult as we get older but like someone above said,…

I personally like the Scooby calculator. There are other things to consider such as height and activity level and still nothing is absolute. What I did in the past is pick a number and stick to that number for a week. See where you are at that point. If you gained, you know to cut the number back, if you lose too quickly,…

I'm not from New England but...take it one day at a time. Little changes every day will eventually become habit. Keep reading these boards there is so much good information out there. I stick to lean meats, veggies, a little fruit, multi grain breads, rice. But I also allow myself a bag of chips if I want. But just one…

5'4" @135 I am comfortable in size 4 pants, at 127-130 I am a size 2

Here is another calculator for you to play around with. 1800 seems about right. The best thing is to try 1800 for a while and see how you are doing. Are you losing too quickly? adjust accordingly. My goal changes here and there http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/

Yes...TV was my downfall also. I also have one of those neck wraps you heat up in the microwave and put that around my neck. I'm not sure why that worked lol but it did!!

I am pretty sure I would eat 1000 calories in cheez-its after a full dinner. I had to learn of ways to distract myself, I would try and stay busy drinking tea, hot cup-a-soup, low calorie hot chocolate, sparkling flavored water, bath, a good book...It took me a good year to where I dont crave the snacking anymore. Learn to…

I'm getting older I don't look that bad I should be able to eat what everyone else eats
-
@jgnatca...You always give such great advice. I thought you were overreacting at first but after reading more, you were spot on OP, so glad you are feeling better!!

ahhh, I didn't realize it was the actual title of a book. Interesting!! That is actually a great idea

Maybe he doesn't want to, his choice. If it's the protein you're looking for, sometimes I just pack turkey on a wrap or chicken sausage. Sometimes I just want oatmeal, and I make up for my lack of protein later. I have learned to eat all kinds of foods for breakfast (not just breakfast foods)

Hi! I tend to stick to lean meats, whole grains, veggies, healthy fats such as olive oil, avocado, nuts, eggs, fruits in moderation. I also allow myself treats when I really want them and if they fit into my calorie goal. Everything in moderation, and anything I feel good about eating. Any book which eliminates entire food…

He's been neglecting his quads :#

My kids make fun of me because my favorite type of book is usually "chick lit" with not much substance...but for me it is a great escape. When I get the muchies after dinner, going to bed with a good book helps tremendously!!
-
Great advice. For me it's cheez-its too.

MFP is a great community but in my opnion, nothing beats joining a gym where you go and meet people. Where I go I see the same people, they motivate me immensely. We push eachother and support eachother...

awsome job, you look fantastic!!
-
Darn. I was hoping this would be true if I maintained for a couple of years.

Do you?? I would never exercise if I had to do that much every day. I was going to recommend strength training along with HIIT. It's quick and I have seen awesome results. The only reason I exercise almost every day is because it's only an hour!! Good luck! You've gotten some great advice on here.
