Sounds familiar - glad its not just me!

Treadmill. I live in England where it's cold and rainy, I know I'd talk myself out of it if I had to leave the house. Ad it's kinder to my knees.

You're right! In much of the Middle East and southern Mediterranean the guys prefer curves too - not fat, but curves. I love my curves! I'm 5'8, 147lbs and while I'd like to drop another 10lbs, I have no desire to be skinny. Just healthy. An ex of mine described sleeping with a model gf of his as 'like banging a bag of…

I lived in Aus for a few years and loved it but wouldn't want to live there now. We are back in the uk now and live by the beach which is cool, but the weather sucks. I'd like to live in Italy, but the economy is too bad right now.

Diorskin nude - it's my HG foundation. My skin is oily with dry patches and this stuff handles both. It's expensive but worth every penny.

Just don't beat yourself up over it. I travel for work frequently, and if I get a hotel with a good gym and good choices - brilliant. If I don't, it's not the end of the world. Ill just get back on track once I'm home. Sometimes upping the cals for a short time even helps the loss - there are plenty of people here who have…

Not sure but I'd be interested to find out..... *bump*

Me too! I've dropped 48lbs and other than my clothes no longer fit and Im wearing a different size - I don't see it in the mirror - it's still the same fat girl looking back at me :(

Drum and bass - nothing like 190bpm to make me move!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this thread! How inspirational you all are. Me: 5'9. 40yrs. Started at 192 - it's taken 2 years, but now at 147. Curious to see how many of us tall girls are aiming for 140 - seems like that's the magic number for a lot of us. Wonder why?

How about Muay Thai? It's an *amazing* workout, builds strength, endurance and hitting things is great for stress. And it's fun!

Good to hear you've freed yourself from the scales! I lost 40lbs before I joined MFP and at first I'd weigh every day, but found it demotivated me more than it helped, with those funny blips that we all get. These days I only weigh every week/10 days (when I remember) and I know if I've been good, then the scale will show…

You look incredible - what a great success story after such a miserable year - hope life is getting better for you x

Make sure you oil the running board well before you get back on it. That's the only one I can think of.

5x a week for 25mins. Any more and I won't be motivated to get off my butt, it's enough to make a difference, but not too much so I lose interest or get demotivated. Quality, not quantity!
-
I don't have any tips, but it's good to hear it will go at some point.

Once a week-ish. I try not to fixate on a particular day, but I do always weigh myself at the same time of day.

I turned 40 in July. I've been losing weight for a few years now and so far have dropped 42lbs, just the last few to go now. I lost most of it dieting, but I've just started back on the exercise this year. Early days, but I want to get back to Muay Thai - I used to fight for my local club when I was in my late 20s/early…

Yes, breathing well helps. But do try interval training - it's really helped me get back to a decent level of fitness - it should really help. I hate that 'lungs on fire' feeling...
-
Well, i hate sci-if but I do work in the geekiest bit of the mobile telco space and get over-excited by new gadgets and gizmos - do I qualify?
-
I interval train - run for 2 mins, walk for 3. More and more studies are showing its far more effective at getting back to that optimal fitness level faster than just constant running. I have a treadmill at home - my knees just can't cope with road running - I wouldn't advise it without the right footwear, assuming you…

Great idea - that's what I've done and its worked for me. I drop about 7lbs, maintain for a few months then push on again. 42lbs lost to date and counting!
-
Don't - my belly when I lean forwards is not a pretty sight! :( still - I'm glad I lost the weight - don't let it put you off!

My husband is 10 years younger - I'm now 40, he's 30. 2 weeks shy of our 6th wedding anniversary - it works for us. I have dated older (not much though) - younger guys do it for me!

Try and moderate your weight loss as skin seems to cope better tha way. And I use bio-oil on my saggy bits, twice a day (when I remember). I heard good stuff about nip+fab creams, but apparently the effects stop when you stop using it. Skin brushing is good too. Hope this helps!

Brighton here!

Hi, we started about the same time. I'm also in the uk! I started losing weight 2 1/2 years ago. I've gone from 13st 10 at my heaviest to 10st 12 (maybe less - next weigh in tomorrow). But MFP has really helped me keep on track. I wouldn't worry about falling off the wagon for a weekend - it's getting back on the wagon…

Hi, Congrats on the loss so far - you've done great! How far off having a healthy BMI are you? That's what I'd be aiming for, plus a few pounds, then you could regulate from there.
