I like the hint to add USDA. Thanks!

I am somewhere between 5'7" and 5'8", my goal is 155, about six pounds to go.

I got some deals on e-bay. I find better deals with I search for lots than individual items.

The MFP debate about what is exercise or is not exercise is old and useless. Walking burns the same number of calories if you call it or exercise, walking, or an afternoon break from work.

I adjusted my goal by 5 lbs just so I could get into the "normal" range for the BMI -- figured if I was that close, might as well. That said, my primary concern is a weight that I am comfortable with and most importantly sustainable in the long term, given my lifestyle. I would much prefer a reasonable weight with a higher…

I can't speak for the Flex, but that is not exactly how it works with the One. Let's say I take an hour long bike ride from 1:00 - 2:00 and I burned 500 calories. I can create an activity record by using the stop watch function. But I do not have to. The advantage of doing the activity record is that when I go to Fitbit's…

I agree -- it is much easier to say "don't let them get to you" than to actually not let them get to you. Between the Happy Scale app and daily weighing, I have decreased my stress over the weight fluctuations. I consider the Happy Scale predicted weight to be my true weight so I only worry if that goes up. The daily…

I have an app on my phone called Happy Scale. You input your weight daily and it gives you a "predicted" weight that evens out the crazy fluctuations. I don't know what the algorithm is but earlier this week my weight went up and the weight on Happy Scale went down. Today I suddenly lost and am now a fraction of a pound…

SO for everyone recommending scales over measuring cups --- what do you do about recipes? All my recipes (and most of the entries in MFP are by volume, not weight.

I agree with all of this. My son's best birthday party was at our house -- no theme, just all his friends running around like crazy. I see how some parents get into each and every holiday and celebrate each and accomplishment and I am in shock. Can we add graduation parties in there. Do we really need to have a huge…

ME! A decade ago I lost weight and got about 20 lbs below my current goal. I sustained it for several years, but started gaining it back after my increasingly busy schedule made it more difficult to find time to exercise. It all went downhill from there. My goal this time around is to have a more sustainable plan.

1000 cals daily on Coffeemate? At 35 cals a tablespoon, that is 28.5 tablespoons! That is almost a bottle of creamer a day! Are you a heavy coffee drinker or a heavy creamer user? Or both?

As someone with a small (proportionally) waist, I hate when they go by waist size, because I never know if it will fit in the hips and thighs.

http://www.asknumbers.com/ClothingWomensConversion.aspx This confirms with what I have understood the conversation to be (nice table because it includes US, UK, European and Australian sizes)

Feel free to add me -- full time, 45 yr old working mom to a 14 and 11 year old.

There is no right answer. Its all about what works for you.

GO GATORS!

Yes, I get crazy fluctuations, and I think they would be crazier if I weighed myself in the evening after working out.

I just got off a cruise where I ate dessert, drank etc. But the things was, after 6 months of watching everything I ate, there was a true limit to what I could actually eat. I could not have physically over indulged to the point where I could gain 10 pounds in a week -- let alone do that for three weeks straight. I…

A hot topic on this board... There are the purist that believe that only intentional workouts should be logged, then there are those who log everything. Me? I think a calorie burned is a calorie burned no matter how it was burned. The key is to avoid double counting. I am taking a in between path, I believe. I have a…

I am going through this right now. Yesterday I decided to try the Jillian Michaels water/lemon/cranberry/dandelion tea solution to see how it works. Drank it and more yesterday and well, let me give it more time. I think I consumed more than peed....

I was going to suggest either getting a FItbit or find someone on MFP who has one and is a waitress to see how a shift impacts the calorie burn. I would think it is fairly significant.

I am addicted to Healthy Choice (??) frozen Greek Yogart. 100 cals per servicing and satisfies my ice cream craving I also eat the Skinny Cow snacks -- that addresses mt chocolate craving. They are about 120 cals each.
