  • I don't know about cured or miraculous, but I started this lifestyle to see if it would help with digestive issues I was having - bloat, gas, discomfort and more. It was a recent issue for me, about 8 months into it. One month paleo and I haven't had one symptom. I think I'll stick with it! I'm sure I won't be 100%, so…
  • Thanks Shannon! I feel great too and have no digestive-related problems. Maybe you hit it on the head. Eat as clean as we can, then just trust our own bodies!
  • I'll check that out. It's just sad that we don't know what to believe. We want to trust our doctors, but they are fed all this information too. The whole food pyramid and everything. I also read another article on Mind Body Green about all the government funding for meat and dairy, and how our demand for meat is too much…
  • I like it here so much better than "out there"!!
  • Paleo definitely works! I feel so pleasantly full (not uncomfortable) and satisfied eating like this! Congrats to you for trying it!
  • New Rules and Stronglifts....lots of Youtube watching!
  • Hi there! I'm a little over 2 weeks in and loving it. I read a few websites and message boards and settled on setting mine at 15% carbs, 65% fat and 20% protein. That seemed to be the average setting from all the sources I checked. My calorie goal is also 1600, but I used a FitBit, so I usually am allowed more. I'm eating…
  • Jen, I can't find it when I search. Not sure why. Can you post the link or the full name? Thank you!
  • Only just over 2 weeks in and I've lost 6 pounds. My goal wasn't really to lose weight, but it's a nice benefit! Hoping to see body comp changes soon! Less fat, more muscle would be perfect.
  • I appreciate all the great suggestions. I'll have to look into cauliflower rice and "zoodles". I'm making meatballs and sauce tomorrow night and have decided to try spaghetti squash for the noodles. I knew there had to be other uses for chia seeds! We bought a bag a while back, and the most I ever did with it was sprinkle…
  • Thanks! Appreciate the help!
  • Hi, I'm new too...new to the group and about 1 1/2 weeks paleo/with a little dairy. I'm feeling really great. I traveled for work yesterday and have to admit that I missed stopping for a muffin on the way and I brought my own lunch vs. trying to figure things out in a deli. But, I did it! Good luck!
  • Oh good, it's normal! I started a week ago and am down 5 pounds. I know we're not supposed to count calories, but I'm having a really hard time eating enough. I seem to always go to nuts/seeds to get more, but I need some other ideas soon.
  • I've been seeing a gastroenterologist for about 4 months now...had all the standard GI tests and everything is normal. I still suffer from horrible bloating (I look like I'm about to give birth) and TMI sorry - BM issues, as well as some other random symptoms which if you buy into the Candida overgrowth theory appear to be…
  • Sounds good to me! Eat less/better - Move more. That simple. Find something you enjoy, mix it up to keep it fresh. I do tend to follow programs because I like to see progress (run further/faster or lift more weight), but I change my programs up every few months or so. You gotta do what works for you!!
  • Love the dress and you look great in it!! Good work!
  • It's not so much the need to see what someone looks like, as it is to make sure it's a real person out there (not a creeper). If I get a FR with no message, and I go look at the profile and there are no pics and no info. I won't accept. If there's no message, no picture, but I can read about the person's journey and goals…
  • Thanks for that info. I believed the myth. When I recently had blood drawn, the tech asked me if I'd had water yet and I said no, only coffee. She said that explained why she had trouble with my vein, that coffee dehydrates. I guess some medical folks haven't heard this either. (Of course, I have difficult veins anyway, so…
  • I bring my breakfast to work - I throw 2 eggs and Laughing Cow wedge into a microwave container and cook at work. Sometimes I do a wholegrain sandwich thin with peanut butter and polaner's jelly. Sometimes a cup of greek yogurt with berries, nuts and a little maple syrup. I love breakfast.
  • You're making progress! Don't give up. I suggest you look up Nia Shanks, and Beautiful Badass. She's amazing. She wants us to keep it simple and sane. Don't give up everything you enjoy! I'm reading her 10 commandments now and one of them is just eat well most of the time - everyone slips, or has a treat (like birthday…
  • I've made it for breakfast...cooked it up with blueberries, walnuts and almond milk.
  • Just want to follow. My results have been a little different too.
  • Nicely done! I really need to work harder at ruining my body! ::wink:
  • If what you're doing is working, then I wouldn't change anything. One of the benefits of upping your calories is that it's more sustainable once you've hit your goal. If you've been all over the forums then you've probably come across the "in place of a roadmap" thread. There's good info there about TDEE and such to help…
  • When I first started out, I was using 8 - 12 pound dumbbells depending on the exercise. Once I could do 3 sets of 8 relatively easily, I'd bump it up. Like everyone said. It's all relative. Use something challenging, but that you can do with good form - once that's feeling comfortable - up you go! Depending on what you…
  • Awesome results! Support is such a big part of it. Congrats!

  • You have scored 17 points. SCORE 10-20 You live comfortably in your body - most of the time. However, your body image and, therefore, your self-confidence can from time to time be a little shaky and there is a risk that certain situations could make you anxious on account of the way you feel about your body, size, shape or…
  • A few Hershey kisses; or at work I might make a small hot chocolate..it lasts a while. If I want to indulge sometimes, I'll get a bag of M&Ms from the vending machine too. This chocolate craving mostly hits at work, so I'm guessing it's related to boredom!
