Thanks for the input. Gives me some things to think about.

Please don't take this too harshly because I don't mean it to be but I just have to say it. I can understand the shame of wanting to hide how much you weigh but I can guarantee you that unless he's a complete idiot, he already knows your lying. Yeah this may seem a small thing to lie about but if your willing to lie about…

Check out Inspiralized.com. Lots of low carb and gluten free stuff.

Log them and carry on. If you need to, add a little exercise to make up the extra calories. Part of this journey, to be successful anyways, isn't learning to avoid things until the weight comes off but learning how to still eat the things you like and still loose or maintain your weight. Otherwise you'll be right back here…

I use K-Tape due to a suggestion (read: demand) from my physical therapist. It helps to keep my knee cap from sliding out of place. I was using it all day long but I've developed a minor allergy to the adhesive so now I only use it when I'm going to be workout out or doing a lot of walking. It works really well for my…

Yeah, just go in and change the percentage. From 170-213. Honestly, unless your doing a lot of heavy lifting, you could do the lower end of the spectrum. And to be honest, I'm not sure if someone your age would need a different goal range.

I agree with the previous poster. Also, don't skip the PT. It doesn't matter if you feel that you can do the same exercises at home. The PT will help you get better and increase your activity level at a safe pace. They will also change up the routine and add more and different exercises as you progress. So just going for a…

So far I've managed to avoid all the major fairs in our area. A real challenge since my parents own a popcorn stand that sells cotton candy, carmel corn, and carmel apples. I was half tempted to have my stepmom bring me home a funnel cake from the fair they are working this week but the last time I ate a funnel cake while…

My youngest is now 7 1/2 but she was in a mei tai until she was 4. Just go to another site's calculator and put in your total weight when carrying the child (mom + baby= total weight), find the calories burned per your activity and then come back on here to log it.

From everything I've read and had confirmed by my doctor and my physical therapist, your protein level should be 0.8-1 gram per pound of body weight when loosing weight. I seldom hit that goal but then again I have trouble keeping my carbs where I want them too. Usually I do about 175 grams of protein per day. And I start…

My midwife originally prescribed it for the PCOS and because of my fasting blood work. I stupidly let my GP talk me out of taking it for a few months, he didn't think my insulin and blood sugar levels were far enough out of the normal range to take it. He finally agreed this past week that I needed to take it since despite…

I get what your saying. If I was cooking just for myself I can see that working well. As it is, I think it worked out about right for 10 equal servings. Since the kids do dinner clean up, I didn't realize until late last night that there was only one bowl left which I figure would have been my 7 year old's second serving.

Thanks for the opinions everyone. Luckily it stopped and didn't go full blown. I'm going to hold off calling my midwife for now but if my TOM shows early, I'll probably call to get her opinion. Stuart, I'd have to agree. The gynecologist (incidentally, the same Dr. that was scheduled to deliver me when I was born) that…

I went with this route. It took a while but since I measured absolutely every single bit (even the water) before it went into the pot, I think I came out alright. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. And, yes, I think I'm going to look for a new food scale. I've had this one for years and it's rather small and does not go…

In January I went down to a dislocated knee cap (AGAIN) and a slight tear in the meniscus so I know where your at. I've not had this surgery but I did discuss it with my physical therapist just a few weeks ago. We decided it was not a good option for me. If you can avoid the surgery I would. The thing about knee surgeries…

My 15 year old has that framed in her room as well.

For those that are trying to conceive, when we were trying I got a lot of support from the PCOS forums on fertilityfriend.com. It also helped with tracking my cycles. And since they have a pregnancy side that is separate, it was a little easier to deal with than reading tons of info about perfectly healthy happy families…

Thanks luvnsunshine1. I just wish I was doing more. I get disgusted with myself when I remember being able to do 30 minutes on the elliptical but now can only do 2 and an hour on the bike but can only do as much as 15. It's annoying but I keep reminding myself that on my birthday at the end of May, I was barely walking at…

I'm so glad I read this thread. My midwife prescribed Metformin back in March but my regular doctor argued that I didn't need it and I ended up not starting it. Today he sent a script to the pharmacy for it so I'm starting it tomorrow and I was worried about how it worked and side effects. Right now the side effect I'm…

Hi, I'm 36 and a mother of 3. My first two were born before my weight got really out of control causing my pcos to go crazy as well. My third is our fertility drug baby. 3 years of fertility treatments and dropping 30 pounds helped us have our little angel who is now 7. Unfortunately, the weight kept adding on. I did lose…

Silly question but did you sync it?

I'm assuming we don't edit our original post but correct me if I'm wrong. Please. Also, I've just started trying to build up endurance after a major knee injury so my activities out of the pool do not add up to much. 8/1 - 45 minutes water aerobics, 70 minutes free swim, 5 minutes strength training 8/2 - 2 minutes…

Oh I'm in. Could use the weightloss before Halloween since we have not only Halloween candy but birthday cake with my youngest being born the day before Halloween.

LOL. It never fails for me to misspell that word. I have no clue why.

I'm sure you'll see a much bigger drop in the morning. Most people see an increase of at least a few pounds if they weigh later in the day. Eating away from home, especially in hotels can really affect your weight loss. You're not measuring. You're not weighing. And you might not be logging. Plus, you don't cook the food…

I want to give this a shot as well. Hopefully it will give me some motivation on those days like today where I just don't want to do anything. 8/1 - 45 minutes water aerobics 70 minutes free swim Total time: 115 minutes Time remaining: 1325 minutes

Just got a package from them this morning. I was actually surprised because I'd ordered from onestopplus.com and didn't realize it came from swimsuitsforall until I saw the package and invoice. ETA: And, it's all going back. I bought two suits, A 24 and a 20, hoping that I wouldn't need to look for a suit when the temps…

Depending on your stats, your sugar level could probably go up a bit. Personally, I avoid bananas like the plague because they spike my blood sugar and then it bottoms out leaving me a dizzy mess. I agree with the almond milk. Or even almond/coconut blend. I use Silk Almond/Coconut Unsweetened and it's 35 calories with 1…

Feel free to add me to the list. My favorite exercises including reading fanfic (mostly harry potter but some dr. who and southern vampire/true blood) on my kindle while hitting the recumbent bike and walking the dogs while Zombie Run plays on my ear phones. I'm also in the Dr. Who challenge.

babyfit.sparkpeople would probably be a good site to check out. A lot like mfp only geared towards pregnant and nursing moms. I'm 5'10" and was 229 when I got pregnant with #3. When I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes I was put on an 1800 calorie a day diet and restricted carbs. I'd been on a 1200 calorie a day diet…
