  • I love stinky cheese. The stinkier the better.
  • I just put a bunch of frozen chopped watermelon (~400g) in my ninja with a small container of dannon light and fit fat free coconut greek yogurt. it was amazing. watermelon froyo. 4 servings @ 50 cal each.
  • Since I've gained weight, men don't seem to see me as dating material. It could also be that I'm old...er.
  • I've had several fitbits that broke (and I know several people who have also dealt with breaking fitbits). I now have an apple watch and love it. Yes, the calorie burn is lower than with fitbit, but I agree with the poster above that isn't necessarily a bad thing.
  • 1.What was the turning point for you? It was a domino effect of things, and this will probably be TMI, but here goes. I've gained weight steadily for about 10 yrs and for the last 5 I've had terrible GERD, with a constant cough that sounded like I had TB or lung cancer. I never had high BP or pre-diabetes at my physicals,…
  • I've had 3 different Fitbits over the years (because they kept breaking). When my last one broke a few weeks ago, my kids bought me an Apple Watch for Mother's day, and I LOVE it. I think it is a little more accurate on my calorie burn (although I'm still trying to figure out where a difference of a couple hundred steps…
  • I like Easy 5k with Jeff Galloway. It syncs with the Apple Health App, but I don't see where it offers integration with my apple watch. I did pay for that app, which came as a bundle, and I got it during a sale with a gift card.

  • Absolutely! Not just for watermelon, but for *everything*. I'm pretty sure that is the reason most of us ended up here. I was watching a documentary yesterday that said most of us underestimate the number of calories we eat by about 30-50%, because (1) our serving sizes are too large and (2) we forget what we eat even if…

  • I eat frozen watermelon. Lovelovelove it. I've been eating about 400g of frozen watermelon as my nighttime snack. I know 400g is a "huge" amount, but it only has about 130 calories-- much less than a tiny snickers bar, and healthier than a (much smaller) bowl of ice cream!!

  • I've been researching it and am also considering getting a DEXAscan. They cost about $80 (US) from a local orthopedist, which, for something that isn't covered by insurance, is pretty good, especially given how accurate they are.
  • Nooooo! That's too simple!!!

  • Interesting!! There is a huge difference in the calculations between the BF (28) and Military (54) for my measurements. The CBBF is in between @38%. I can't trust electrical impedance used by scales because I have such a terrible time with edema in my feet and ankles, I think it would affect the measurement. I'm…
  • I think this one is a better calculator: http://www.fat2fittools.com/tools/cbbf/
  • Exactly!! But there is no "bad stuff". If I want chocolate, or wine or pizza, or ice cream, I figure out a way to make it fit into the big picture.
  • These photos are all amazing!! Here is mine so far. Not sure if the difference is just because of my hairdo, or what. I tend to not see changes, but people have been telling me I look "great". The November pic was my heaviest weight, before I started my current tracking in MFP (which was in March).
  • Me too!! It's actually working. 15# in 69 days, which is right on track. I'm not mindlessly eating. I still don't feel deprived. My feet and knees don't hurt anymore. I can walk 2 miles without feeling like I'm going to pass out. I can bee-bop up the stairs. Even my brain isn't foggy anymore-- I feel more "present". I feel…
  • For me the biggie is sodium intake. Be careful of your alcohol intake, too-- not only are there 100-250 calories/beer, it can cause overeating by lowering inhibitions.
  • Fantastic!!
  • SW: 257.6 (3/15/17) CW: 243.8 (5/27/17) 1.6# loss this week 13.8# total STGW: 239.1 LTGW: 165 What is working-- I managed to meet my movement goals for the week. (My dog is happy with the new walk routine.) Eating back my exercise calories. I went over my calories a couple of days, but stayed within goal for the week. What…
  • During the week, I usually have a Greek yogurt. On the weekend, I love a piece of nut bread toast with plain avocado mashed on it (or salsa), topped with a fried egg and a little bit of cheese toasted on top. It's under 400 calories. If it's closer to lunch when I get around to it, then I have 2 and count it as breakfast…
  • I try to keep an eye on the whole week. If I'm within my calories for the week, I don't worry about it. If I'm not, I just don't eat back my exercise calories the next day or two. And make sure I drink my water. The trick is not to panic and cause a spiral into another binge with self-defeating thoughts.
  • That you need to have your glasses adjusted because you've lost weight in your face and they keep sliding off.
  • sorry-- jut saw this. I eat them frozen!!
  • OMG, it's good to know I'm not alone.
  • That's good to know. I drink 90-120ozwater/day.
  • I think MFP is having some issues. Yesterday the website was double tracking my exercise from my apple watch activity app, and today it isn't tracking half my exercise calories. (But the iOS app has worked both days.)
  • It will come off with the rest. I must have lost weight from my face because I don't have crease lines at the temples from my glasses being too tight when I take them off.

  • Me, too. I'm hoping that by losing it slowly, it will not be too disgusting. But I'm not young anymore so the resilience isn't going to be there, and 100# is a lot of weight. Saggy belly skin can be hidden by clothing, but not a wrinkly face.
