I drink about 100-120oz/day. I have a 30oz insulated tumbler that I fill before work, try to fill again before lunch time, then again mid-afternoon/before I go home. And I also fill it again when I go to bed, because I sweat at night and get thirsty. I gave up soda last year for iced tea, then gave up the tea for water…

I also started with ~100# to lose. My "aha" moment came when I had a couple of health scares in March of this year. Something finally clicked, and I am not finding it hard to stick with it this time-- I've logged for 65 days straight. The changes I've made were right for me and I feel great. Of course, it also took a…

My limp is almost gone because my feet and knees don't hurt all the time anymore. I can walk a mile without feeling out of breath.

I started with almost 100# to lose. I'm focusing on 10# at a time.

I eat back my exercise calories, but my base goal is 1400-1600, so feel free to add me if your food diary is open to friends. ;-)

Except now employee insurance plans have weight watchers meetings at work and make you sign health contracts.

I love Happy Scale. It has kept me from getting discouraged, and focused on the long term picture.

That has happened to me several times. I thought I lost 5 # this week, and realized I was using my hand to balance on the door jamb. But 19# is amazing! You should be proud!!

I noticed this week it is easier to tie my shoes, and I don't get out of breath climbing the stairs to my condo. Also, my friends and my kids are starting to notice a difference, and have been telling me so. That's really nice, because I don't see a difference, but I do know I feel better, so maybe it is just reflecting my…

SW: 257.6 (3/15/17) CW: 245.4 (5/20/17) 1.3# loss this week 12.2# total STGW: 239.1 LTGW: 165 What is working-- still logging on and tracking religiously. Getting more sleep (even if it is the form of naps after work, LOL). I think my new Apple watch is better at tracking exercise calories than my old fitbit. Had a couple…

I use an app called Happy Scale to keep me grounded. My mind plays the same "OMG-I'm-not-losing-weight" trick if I don't. Remember, weight loss isn't linear.

I love dijon mustard on a salad!!

SW: 257.6 (3/15/17) CW: 246.7 (5/13/17) STGW: 239.1 LTGW: 165 What is working-- eating consistent meals, especially breakfast. What is not-- I've had too much sodium and not enough sleep or steps in the last week.

Hi, y'all. I just found this group. My name is Karen. I'm 53y/o, 5'6". Been a member of MFP for years during which my weight has yo-yoed ever upward. However, I had a bit of a health scare earlier this year which caused me to re-evaluate my lifestyle and make some major changes in my diet. On April 1st I decided to try…

It depends on what you like, and what you mean by "low calorie". My favorite snacks these days: Frozen mango with loads of cinnamon. A whole 10oz bag only has 180 calories, and that is a LOT of fruit. An ounce of walnuts is also about the same amount of calories ~180 and is also filling (for me). Same for an ounce of…

Today was a pescatarian day for me: shrimp and grits for lunch, and crab stuffed salmon with fries and vegetable medley for dinner. I still have a few calories left so I'm going to have some frozen mangoes and cinnamon for my bedtime snack.
-
Yep. This has taken me years to learn.
-
Greek yogurt is my go-to breakfast. I also like overnight oats with PB, pumpkin, and chia seeds.

^^^ This. I'll add, if you are used to snacking on calorie-dense things all day, try different snacks. Trade home-made hummus and carrots for chips. Pickles are a good snack. So is frozen fruit with cinnamon on top. Weigh out an ounce of nuts for an afternoon snack, and savor them. Use lots of spices when you cook. Plan…

My diary is open to the public. I'm a vegetarian, and some days I eat better than others.
-
Good luck!! I am currently on my longest streak at 52 days. I pre-log my food lots of times.
-
I had 93# to lose. I'm 11# down. I'm focusing on 10# at a time, so I don't get disheartened or overwhelmed. But I didn't put it on overnight, and I won't lose it overnight.
-
Yep, because if I don't, the only one I'd be lying to is me.

vegetarian sloppy joes for dinner.

Is there a scale in the gym at your university? Use that one. Weigh at the same time of day whenever you use it.
-
Thank goodness I found Happy Scale thanks to a post on these boards. I also get scale obsessed, and it helps me to see the overall picture.
-
When I put away the leftovers from dinner, I will most of the time pack some for my lunch the next day. I also pack snacks, and I pre-log everything. That keeps me on track. (I admit this past week I have been lazy, and have paid the price by making bad nutritional choices.)
