I take selfies to chart my progress. But I don't wear makeup to the gym unless I happened to put some on earlier in the day. I don't go there to look cute.
-
And you eat ice cream every night like I do. Carbs after 6pm? OMGz don't you know that's gonna make you fat? ;)

This!

They make 100 calorie oatmeal packs that are quick to make (90 seconds in microwave) and are filling. Other than that, I usually snack on rice cakes (50 calories a piece) or a small amount of fruit/veggies (cucumbers, celery, berries).

Your body will adapt to cardio, keep that in mind. I would stick with mostly weights and cut your cardio down to 2-3 days a week of HIIT.

Hence why I said "as long as she's hitting her micro AND macro nutrients, as well as fiber." Honestly, I don't study nutrition for nothing.

Oats! They make these awesome packets of Oatmeal now, called Oat Fit, that are only 100 calories. Fill the packet to water line and microwave for 90 seconds and voila. They're made with flaxseed as well so you get some extra fiber goodness in there. Otherwise, I make overnight proats: 1/2 cup rolled oats, scoop of protein…

That doesn't mean it's bad for you either. As long as she's hitting her micronutrients, as well as her macronutrients, without going over her calorie goals, the amount of sugar is irrelevant in regards to weight loss/maintenance. Also, so long as she isn't pre-disposed to diabetes.

I believe an interview from the master, Layne Norton, PhD in Nutritional Sciences, would be helpful here: 3.) What do you think to the IIFYM craze? I think it’s funny that people find this to be a ‘new’ concept when I was saying “eat your macro targets” for probably a decade. However, kudos for the catchy acronym LOL. I…

I must have missed the point where I told her to go out and eat a bunch of refined sugar in the form of poptarts, ice cream, and candy bars. You can still have a high intake of sugar from healthy, nutrient dense sources.

This. Unless you have a medical reason to avoid sugar, there's no point to track it. I consume about 100g of sugar a day and I haven't gained any weight. Calories in vs calories out.

I just started with IIFYM, coming off a competition. I eat clean 90% of the time, but I save my Poptart ice cream sandwiches for my post-workout treat. We don't all eat crap all day just because it fits in our macros.

If it's cardio, do it first thing in the morning before breakfast. You want to do cardio when glycogen levels are low, so either fasted in the morning or after weight lifting (which depletes glycogen stores).

I carry a gallon around with me every day to help keep me on pace.
