My son uses his George Foreman grill all the time - easy way to cook chicken breasts, pork chops, etc. so you don't get bored eating the same things. The slow cooker is a great idea (get some frozen meatballs (check the nutrients though), add some fresh salsa or pasta sauce, cook on low for 4-6 hours - yum-o!) Great topic…

Low cal, high protein on-the-go breakfast - boil an egg and bake 2 slices of center cut bacon. I put the egg on and put the bacon in the oven, THEN turn it to 400 degrees - go brush my teeth and take a shower. This is about 20 minutes - breakfast should be done. I swear, if I didn't eat protein in the morning, I'd have…

I lost 25 pounds on WW and successfully found every pound again, plus one. I started here in January and have lost almost seven pounds on my own, but rejoined WW last week. I like the meetings - I like that accountability. Everyone is different though. The people are always so positive and no one bashes someone for not…

I don't know what all was included in the $150 work outfit, but have you priced business suits? That's standard, really. I think men appreciate women putting in a little effort ... does a woman who hasn't put any effort into her appearance get your attention first or someone who's put together? We have to dress for work…

5'2" - lowest I've been in 20 years is 118 - my goal was 120. I was wearing 0's and 2's at that weight. I think 125 is a realistic healthy weight for me - and I've got about 18 pounds to get there. I didn't even weigh 100 pounds when I graduated from High School - and I had no idea how thin I really was. I carry all of my…

I know Applebees has a tasty light menu with calorie information as well as weight watcher points. Have fun!

I eat chick-fil-a.

I eat two slices of center cut, 30% reduced fat bacon almost daily for breakfast. Low cals and carbs, and with a boiled egg, it does hold me over well until lunchtime. Biggest issue I have with breakfast is what I really like I shouldn't be eating often (sausage gravy over home-made buttermilk biscuits ... my southern…

I suggested this to a catholic friend of mine after she said she was giving up chocolate. She told me it didn't work that way and I was absolutely no help whatsoever. What are friends for? :-) For those who do participate - good luck!

I find if I eat too close to exercising, I get heartburn ... prolly all that jumping up and down. :-) In the past, though, if I worked out on an empty stomach I had low blood sugar issues. I'm sure there's a perfect time in there somewhere ... some folks are suggesting an hour beforehand. That sounds pretty reasonable.

Trying them on in the store first is probably sound advice - I have an Amazon Prime account and I'm not afraid to use it, but prolly should not be so hasty here - LOL! I saw those Capezio sneakers and thought the same way - U-G-L-Y (and I'm a bit of a shoe 'ho, so it's hard to wear ugly shoes). But hey, if they're…

Great ideas here - all of them. I do a confession like you did :-) Then, I feel empowered to NOT do it the next time. We went out to eat last night and my husband ordered a plate of onion rings - damn things looked awesome. I had one small one, then ate my steak salad with dressing on the side and just dipped my fork. I…

I typically have a boiled egg and two slices of center cut 30% less fat bacon for breakfast and coffee. Snack is a piece of fruit. Lunch is typically leftovers (meat and a veggie) - sometimes a snack in the afternoon sometimes not. Lara bars are a good snack and seem healthy. Dinner is meat and a veggie. I can even have a…

All of these calculators drive me nutty. MFP says 1200 for me (1 pound a week - not terribly off my target - want to lose 20 pounds), TDEE says 1600, and one of the other popular ones says 1300. ARGH

I was under 1200 yesterday and I ate an egg for breakfast, and chick-fil-a kids meal at lunch, and mashed cauliflower and steak for dinner and two glasses of wine. I didn't snack on fruit yesterday (but a lot of days I do). Not saying chick-fil-a is healthy by ANY stretch (but boy, that chicken crack makes me mouth…

I'm a huge fan for the reasons above, and for those who are gluten free, these are the ticket. Last week I was having a candy bar craving and the Larabar was my savior. I don't eat them daily, but have them handy. My fav so far is a nut and cranberry one. Yum!

After you exercise, put in what you did. You'll get the information about how many calories you burned so you know what you can add calorie wise to your diet. Good luck!!

I don't think Splenda is a natural sweetener. I do like it in my coffee though. Trying to cut it out. I'm basically trying to cut out all chemicals - but it's hard. Pick your battles. I'm very thankful I'm not a soda drinker in the first place so that wasn't a struggle for me, but appreciate that it is for a lot of folks.…

I find eating protein keeps me full more, so I eat less. I'm doing the egg thing most mornings too (and on 1200/day). Most lunches are leftovers (think chicken breast and a small salad, or maybe even a shrimp stir fry with brown rice (but not a lot of rice), etc.). No bread. If I need a snack I do eat fruit. The Atkins…

Interesting - my sister and I were just now talking about this! Once per week. Habit from my weight watchers days. Their reasoning was that so many factors you can't control can fluctuate your weight, they didn't want us getting too fixated and frustrated. Once per week is a great indication as to how well (or not) you…

I didn't see this before I posted a few minutes ago - glad you're feeling better. The first time I had a YI I thought I was going to go out of my mind! Fortunately for me, my mom was an OB/GYN nurse at the time so she was able to get me what I needed. Now if I even twinge I am on the phone with the Dr's office. FWIW, eat…

Hope you're feeling better. Yeast infections SUCK! I have had great luck with an oral anti-fungal prescribed by the doctor - it works very fast too. The name of the drug is escaping me but it starts with a D and a lot of times you only need one (although last time I had one I took two of them a few days apart, per Dr.'s…

I've done these cakes and they're good: Whisk one egg with 2 T low fat bisquick and 1 T skim milk. Mix in 1/4 cup of blueberries. Prepare it in a pan like you would a pancake. To me, they taste like blueberry french toast. Thanks everyone for other good ideas!

I get the 6 nugget kids meal and it's 280 cals I think - I know it's under 300 and might be closer to 200. It's just enough :-) Sushi isn't necessarily bad, it just depends on what it is. One of my favorite rolls is so bad but so good - it's a fried shrimp roll with rare filet Mignon on top with the spicy sauce (read:…

What I didn't explain is that until recently, I didn't believe the whole "low carb/high protein" hype. I've typically eaten more carbs and less protein. And I did lose weight doing so - and I ate things like lean cuisines for lunch, whole grain pastas for dinner with veggies more than meat, etc. When I exercised, however,…

Who said anything about frozen veggies and olive oil? And you're right - I should have been more clear about processed foods. I'm talking about doritos, margarine, little debbie snack cakes, frozen meals (including "lean" ones) . I believe if you eat more fresh things it's better for your body, that's all. And I know how…

Three things you should never argue with people about: Religion, Politics, and Diets. My opinion? Processed foods are BAD. They're not food. When I eat protein, I stay full longer and make better eating choices. Too many carbs, especially simple carbs, make my blood sugar do stupid things. Eating a lot of fatty foods makes…

I've got a great one I added to the recipes - it came from skinnytaste.com - http://pinterest.com/pin/178314466467880012/ - I started making these even before dieting. My husband isn't a pepper person, so I make four peppers then but the rest of the mixture into a small casserole dish for him. I also rarely have fresh…
