I'm going through something similar except that it was due to unemployment. I'm trying to find that motivation to get everything started again and now i feel more lost than ever. i'm going to try to take it one step at a time and hopefully make it to the gym tomorrow and avoid fast food. Good luck to you!!!! Please feel…

I did the same thing. Weight watchers was a good starter tool. MFP is better because it's free, and the support system is awesome. You'll like it. Plus, i didn't like the way weight watchers calculated some food. Nuts shouldn't be 3 points for a 100 calorie pack....

I live in Spring and could use the extra motivation!

Pretty sure you can only count water as water. lol nice try though! have your beer and drink the water! it's the summer. enjoy the extra hydration.

Such an inspiration! Keep up the good work.

i have found PB2 in both HEB and Kroger, so i assume that it would be found in most grocery stores in the health food aisle by the protein powders and such. I just bought PB2 in chocolate and had some with strawberries. one word: Amazing!

I haven't done much research on glycemic index, but i'm definitely going to look into it. This whole sugar thing has been disturbing me.

Thanks!!! i'm thinking that might be the reason why i'm not losing as much weight as i think i should. I'll have to do some more research and cut back.

I recently switched over. This has been my first week without meat. I feel great! Its much easier than you think. I do eat dairy however. If you can eat eggs or egg whites, i would definitely include that in your diet. I love a lot of the Boca brand stuff which are low in calorie and high in protein. I actually have…

What frustrates me is when i don't see the numbers move for weeks. But, at the same time, i never have wanted to give up. I lost over 40 lbs with weight watchers and now i'm trying this site out because it's free. This is by far the hardest thing i've done in my life... so far. it's a journey and i'm definitely still along…

Probably going to the gym. The gym is my boyfriend.

weight training will help you burn more calories by gaining lean muscle mass. It's worth it. Not to mention you'll burn more calories during the day from having more muscle mass.

almonds, banana, or one piece of wheat bread with 1/2 tbsp - 1 tbsp of peanut butter. I find that i dont workout as well if i dont eat something. Also, drinks at least a whole water bottle before working out. Especially if this is in the morning.
-
Keep at it! you could be gaining muscle and losing fat at the same rate.

Don't drink calories or empty calories i should say. i can't really knock a protein shake because i haven't had one. Drink have your weight in ounces of water daily. being hydrated really does make a difference on how your body burns calories. I would suggest getting a heart rate monitor that shows how many calories you've…

Thanks! One of the things i like about MFP is that there are more choices when searching for certain foods. WW doesn't have generic foods as much, so there's more individual input than i would like. More time consuming.

Yeah i'm starting to think i'm needing to count those fruit and vegetable calories. I've been plateauing for a couple of months.

Either Oscar Mayer or Butterball (can't remember which brand) has turkey bacon that actually gets crispy. It says so on the package, and from personal experience, it's pretty good.

well until she if fully committed to making a change herself she will not accept your advice. you were more acting as a subconscious. good job! :-)

i'm new as well. Good Luck! Feel free to add me! A good support system will help keep you in check.
