  • Creature of habit, Usually its a hard boiled egg with multigrain toast. A spinach omelet or a spinach/chard saute with egg if I'm adventurous!
  • @ReenieHJ @earlnabby I've discovered why forget me nots are called such. The seeds have coarse hairs on them and stick to you like burrs. Reminding you to not forget those flowers!
  • Awesome! If i have lots of excess herbs, i make herb butter and freeze it. Then you can just carve off a piece as you're cooking in the middle of winter, and still have fresh herb flavour.
  • Garlic Chives have such as great flavor, definitely a fave! I often seed summer savory, and that will reseed itself each year- another lovely garden herb.
  • Breakfast is very routine for me- 1 Hard boiled egg, 1 piece of ww toast and a bit of butter. If I deviate from that its a spinach omelet. Lunch tends to be a spinach salad (with tuna or chicken) and a homemade soup. Dinner is variable as I don't always cook it.
  • Why Increase salt intake? Wouldn't that be a concern for increasing blood pressure?
  • Skiing! Snow conditions have been amazing and if i can burn calories doing an enjoyable exercise, all the better
  • I like using parchment paper packs for fish- steams/ poaches the fish and keeps it moist. Salmon or trout with lemon and herbs, make a parchment paper pouch and bake for 20min at 400. I also love salmon with Maple soy glaze, but the lemon herb option is healthier!

  • @kshama2001 Zone 7. Okanagan BC, so quite desert like and gets hot (30-35C) in the summer. Winters we get snow, but usually average winter temp of -5C. We had a really mild winter recently, so the spinach was able to over winter from the fall crop. I plant seeds directly.
  • @French_Peasant THANKS! my plot is I think 20ft by 30ft? Big, and large enough to grow everything I could hope to. I also assist with the adjacent plot for my kids Elementary school. This garden has 37 plots and there is always a wait list, so quite popular. There are dozens of community gardens around the city, organized…
  • I plant spinach early spring, and in the fall for 2 crops. It gets hot here too so the greens will start bolting in the summer. Spinach is one of my favorite things to grow, and I eat it nearly everyday!
  • A restaurant just opened in my town called "Eat Clean" (Healthy Grill and Juice bar) and I thought, I damn hope its a clean restaurant or get shut down by public health! Good concept. Bad name.
  • Sharing pics of my community garden plot from May. The spinach overwintered from a fall planting and is HUGE! 2 leaves and I have a salad.
  • Kelowna BC. Originally from Edmonton. Its a beautiful natural place to live, except during forest fire season.
  • I tend to shop online for the pantry items about once a month and yes I very much finds it helps to stick to a budget and buy only things we need. My regular shopping during the week tends to be local shops- produce market- bakery-butcher. Not much for junky options in those stores (fortunately I hate donuts and can easily…
  • Its garden season, so salads for days!! Usually with a hard boiled egg or tuna or a turkey sausage. In the winter, homemade soups. And on thursdays the Fish taco truck comes to work, so that's my fun lunch day.
  • Warm bread... This is why I gave up my bread maker. Fresh, warm bread, I could eat half a loaf in a sitting.
  • Love the rainbow Chard! Those are some nice looking garden beds!
  • Walking shoes, food scale, Free weights, Soda Stream and my community garden membership
  • I'm a fan of fitness blender workouts. Free online. Filter the options for beginner strength workouts.
  • Just found this thread and making notes! Walden Farms products I found at Pharmasave of all places! I expect there is artificial sweeteners in their products to make them so low cal, but worth a try.
  • I do love walking, but also play pokemon go. It keeps me motivated to go a bit further to hatch an egg, or to just get out on days I'd love to stay horizontal but gotta keep the daily streak of pokestops. My kid is more interested in the pokemons. He'll often join me for a walk around the neighborhood, or he's at least…
  • I walk daily and I hope to do this for the rest of my life. The goal is to stay mobile and healthy as I age, and maintain a healthy weight. A walk, particularly in nature, I find great for stress relief, exercise of course, and a social opportunity as well if I meet a friend. I'm blessed to live in a great city for nature,…
  • I've lost 15 lbs and have another 20 lbs to go. If I track calories, I stay on track. So just gotta stay accountable to myself.
  • So great to have a supportive workplace! I'm very fortunate to work at a university and health and wellness being encouraged and supported. So usually I eat my lunch at my desk during normal working time and reserve my formal lunch break for a walk on one of our fabulous trails, or a yoga class.
  • 1. Walking shoes 2. Yoga mat 3. Eggs. Daily breakfast 4. My Garden- for at least half a year I get a good supply of fresh veggies. And gets me outside everyday. 5. Salads. Daily lunch
  • I'm just relearning piano. Played as a kid and lapsed as an adult. I heard that 10 minutes practice a day is enough to form a habit and learn piano. So I'm starting there!
  • I have a garden so love to try new varieties of vegetables like kholrabi or arugula. Anything that's fresh from the garden tastes so much better! I love roasting veggies particularly if I already have the grill or oven going. Yams, Carrots and beets tossed with a bit of olive oil and herbs roasted. Delicious.
  • Good habits: 1. walk everyday (this is as much for stress relief and a break, as it is for exercise) 2. Morning HIIT or strength workouts 3. have a cup of tea instead of a sweet snack 4. Try to have veggies with every meal 5. Garden. Provides me with lots of fresh veggies and gets me outside daily. Habits to revitalize 1.…
