Yes! Cosplaying is one of my motivations to lose weight. I dressed up as Pam Poovey from Archer because that was an outfit I felt most comfortable in and was in line with my body type. I'm hoping to dress up as Kaylee from Firefly when I lose some more weight. Maybe as Inara if I lose more and work on my sewing skills :D

Bump! Must try this. :)

I'm not a doctor, so I may be wrong about this, but my understanding is that you do not burn more calories in hotter weather although you may be sweating more. You may feel like you are working harder if dehydration is a factor. Fatigue and increased heart rate are two side effects of dehydration that can lead to this…

I was just googling this plan! I was trying to decide between the c25k plan or the Sparkpeople 5K Your Way Rookie Running Plan. I will definitely join you though!

Baby spinach with cherry tomatoes and avocado (topped with a sriracha, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and chili powder dressing)

My husband bought me an air popper when I was going through bags upon bags of microwave popcorn. That little thing has saved us some money since I buy plain kernels now. I mix up chili powder, curry powder, garlic powder, Kernel Seasonings, sriracha, and Mrs. Dash to season it. Not all at once, but depending on what I am…

I tend to make some massive salads for lunch. For example, yesterday I had baby spinach, chopped red onion, chopped baby carrots, a hard boiled, and black beans. Other than that, I tend to eat cereal for lunch, like the Kashi high protein and high fiber cereals. This is only M-F. On weekends, my husband gets creative in…

This thread is awesome. I know that I experience a lot of this (like tying your shoes but the bow is on the side!), and I am going to be so happy when I get to cross off some of the points from these lists as I lose weight.

Great inspiration!

I go shopping every 3-7 days, but this is generally what I get for a weeks worth of food for my husband and myself. And things like meat protein and pastas usually last 2 weeks to a month. Eggs, seafood, and milk products are used up pretty quickly. Protein: Boneless skinless chicken breasts Lean Ground Turkey Sardines…

Walking is my go to outdoor exercise. Since I just moved to Denver from Houston, I'm going to try out hiking this spring/summer. I can literally see the foothills and mountains from my apartment and that is pretty motivating. I'm hoping to add other outdoorsy activities as I become more fit, but for now, it is all about…

That is really, really scary. You handled yourself very well though!

I prefer grams because they (generally) help me calculate ratios with whole numbers instead of fractions like ounces tend to give me. I hate mixing decimals and fractions in an equation, but that is more a preferred math quirk of mine. Completely ignoring the caloric count aspect, I find it easier to bake when I calculate…

I normally get fully dressed (including shoes, headband/cap, sunscreen, and HRM). By the time all that is on, I kinda feel silly just sitting around the apartment, so I head outside for a walk or to drive to the gym.

All the replies on here are really inspiring! Thank you for asking this question. I'm at 210 lbs, and I had issues with the C25K waaay back when I was 150 lbs. I repeated each week 2-3 times, but never finished it. Now I'm motivated to (1) get a better bra to strap my girls down and (2) start this again. And I say go ahead…

bump (But I definitely want to try the cauliflower one and the laughing cow one!)

I'm 5'0. My SW was 220. CW is 207. GW is 115. I try to reward myself as often as possible. Every 5 lbs I buy myself a new book for my e-book readers (my reading habit gets expensive).

Ivy Doomkitty! She is a cosplayer and has mentioned in her fb page that she does Insanity.

I believe it varies by person, but it could be that I'm just a very slow walker. I'm super short and my walk speed is about 2.8 on the treadmill and about 3.6 for jogging. But my "jogging" speed is often a quick walk for my husband and tall friends.

Perhaps a smoothie? I know lots of people make smoothie's with either kale or spinach. I think they are affectionately called "Green Monsters". You can find recipes at greenmonstermovement.com. You can also try blending it up and adding it to a sauce for extra serving(s) of veggies.

I like *lots* of positive reinforcement. So anytime I exercise or hit the gym, I use a nice aka expensive soap (I like Lush products) instead of the regular Irish Spring bar soap we have. If I exercise 5x/week and eat right 6x/week, I give myself a pedicure at home. And then every 5 pounds I give myself another reward…
