Don't sell yourself short. I was able to at least start one of the workouts Rx last year. the next move was toes to bars. I tried a few times and wasn't even close, then just subbed it to knee ups to keep moving through the workout and took my "10" reps. Doing that will end up ranking you higher than anyone who does only…

And a professor somewhere did this, in essence, by eating only Twinkies on a diet and losing weight doing it. It just takes an inhuman amount of self control. Granted, he was not trying to add mass or get more fit, just lose weight To me, volume is important. I can eat a metric ton of vegetables that will fill me up and…

This is a better "What is Paleo" article written by one of the guys who first popularized it. So be prepared for how enthusiastic about it he is :) http://robbwolf.com/what-is-the-paleo-diet/

You should check out Mark Sisson's The Daily Apple site if you don't already. He calls his approach "Primal" and in essence it's Paleo+dairy. I eat Paleo 90% of the time but I'm not crazy about it. I just find it to be easy, I tend to stay full longer and tend to be on a more even keel energy-wise. It's also allowed me to…

Glad to see this thread still going strong :)

At your size and weight, I'd be less worried about the scale and more worried about how I looked naked or at the beach. Note that looking better naked might mean you need to add some muscle just as much as you might need to lose fat (though at your size there can't be much fat to lose)

Already downloaded and ready to go on the Xbox. I will be playing at 12:00:01am Tuesday :)

Great job!

Just go in and have fun and try to keep your adrenaline in check (tough to do.) Talk with your judges before each WOD if you have any mobility or form limitations and show them what you can do. I promise you they will work with you. If you get the chance watch some other teams do the WODs before you. If you are the first…

And it's pretty much a dying holiday in the US. Not like when my brothers and I would head out and fill pillowcases full of candy multiple times.

I'm not a huge fan, but it's one of the few CF things that I'm good at, so I usually make sure I show up. One a select few CF movements, being 6'3 is an advantage.

Yesterday: Round of Cindy 1 Thruster Round of Cindy 2 Thrusters etc until 10 thrusters. Took me about 30 minutes. Cindy wasn't really the issue, my shoulders were gone after round 7 or so. Today: Every 4 minutes for 24 minutes (6 rounds) 400m run. Try to maintain the same time for all rounds.

Yesterday: Tempo Box Squats. 3 seconds down, 3 second pause, explode up. Used a slightly lower box than normal, which was a good change that I'll be keeping going forward. 135x2, 165x2, 185x2, 205x2, 225x2. Could have gone much higher but saved my legs for: Mean Girls 21-15-9 Barbell Squat (135/95 RX) from the floor…

This is today's workout. I'll sub out something for the ring dips. Hang Power Clean EMOTM 10 1 Rep, climbing, focus on form and getting some moderate weights moving before the WOD. "Sections" For time: 10 Hang Power Clean & Jerk 10 Ring Dips 50 Foot Bear Crawl ---Rest 3 minutes--- 15 Hang Power Clean & Jerk 15 Ring Dips…

^^I had to get some help cleaning up my barbell after this. My hands couldn't squeeze properly after finishing for about five minutes. Took three attempts for me to get the clips off the bar. Upper body is still sore and today's workout consists of 60 clean and jerks. Should be fun.

Holleyman is fun. I subbed hand-release pushups and I think I dropped the weight to 185. Still missed the clean a few times towards the end. My problem with anything that is shoulder heavy is that for some reason my delts really hold lactic acid. Once the pain starts to build I just have to accept it until I'm done....then…

Got Assassin's Creed Black Flag via Xbox Gold. Really fun game.

I hate Deck of Cards. Every time I've done it the first 30 movements are the same and I'm done for the rest of the workout. today's workout for us was a killer. Easily one of the hardest CF workouts I've done. Even the guys who RXd it in good time said it was a miserable experience. 50 Thrusters (135/95) EMOM do 5 lateral…

oftentimes I'll just go for a walk or something, then do mobility afterwards. Very low intensity. Literally walk around a nearby pond and see what wildlife I can find.

Even though you aren't quite old enough yet, check out the CF Masters group on Facebook. There are plenty of people who have had that surgery and can tell you what to expect. Most of them came back just fine or even better (which makes sense if they can fix the instability) Good luck!

I wasn't able to do it, but ours was: "Never Forget" 9/11 Tribute AMRAP 20:01 9 Hang Power Cleans 11 Box Jumps 30/24 9 Thrusters 11 Push Ups 9 Front Rack Lunges per Leg 11 Chest to Bar Pull Ups Rx Barbell = 115/75 Scale as needed. This is meant to be a challenge, so don't worry about doing all of the barbell movements…

Nice. I think you have quite a few options open to you. The Invictus Masters programming is supposed to be great.

^My weight has bounced up lately and it's entirely my own fault for not paying enough attention to nutrition. Had a good today and am just going to keep stringing them together. Ideally you'd get 8 hours of sleep a night, but you do have a young kid so I'm sure that doesn't help :) I've also found that if I mentally map…

He should be smart enough to realize that cutting out the bad apples sooner rather than later will generate him MORE business in the long run.

Totally agree. I'm much, much stronger now than when I started, but overall I'm only down about 20 lbs because I haven't been as tight on my diet as I should be. I'd calculate TDEE and then play around with eating at a 10% deficit or so to see if that works and adjust as needed until you start getting the results you want.…

If you know they're recording, stop doing the WOD and walk right over to them and tell them that it makes you uncomfortable and that you'd prefer that they stop. Thank them and get back to work.

Deadlifts, find a heavy 2 RM (touch and go) Then Diane. "Diane" 21-15-9 Deadlifts (225/155) HSPU Will probably go at 185 and do wall walks. I can handle the DL weight, but probably not 45 times.

Top 3: Squats Wall Balls Elliptical Bottom Three Thrusters Front Squats Double Unders (I gave up to save my sanity. Will return to them this fall)
