Sounds like a great plan, good luck with your new training schedule.

We have a decent range. Low of 30 lbs, high of 225 or so. I can get the 145 one pretty easily, don't know about 175
-
We need to do that as well. It's only about 4 hours away for us.

Really wanted to go yesterday for a nice conditioning workout (3x 800m run + 15 T2B, each round starts on the 8 minutes looking for consistency) Tonight is Front squats, 4 rounds of 4. 2 second pause in the hole. Then we play around with the atlas balls

Dumbbells? :)

I played Elite on the Commodore 64. I might have to give that a try when I upgrade my PC..

The vests are RX right? I'd say yes.

when I was younger leg day wasn't a success unless my knees buckled on the way down the stairs out of the gym. If I tried that now I'd be crippled for a week.

You'll adjust eventually, but foam rolling and stretching will help a ton. I ran Sunday and did the WODs the last two days. Going to do some light cardio and mobility today and that's it.

Crackdown and Crackdown 2 are like the Caddyshack and Caddyshack 2 of video games. One is one of the better of its kind ever made. The sequel is the worst.

I'd say for the first five I was finishing right at 33 seconds. Then my chest started getting tired and it just kept creeping up. Last two I finished at 55 and 57 seconds. Two of our guys finished it. One looked like he was getting stronger at the end, the other faded a bit but was still easily finishing in 45 seconds. I…

Yesterday was Chelsea. EMOTM 30. 5 pull ups 10 push ups 15 air squats I scaled reps (4, 8, 10) and made 10 rounds, then did 8-9 more with 30 second rests in between rounds, then just did 15 air squats EMOTM to keep my heartrate up. Tonight is 1RM clean, 1RM deadlift.

My goal as well. For me it's really just a function of losing about 15 more lbs. I can get about half way there right now and I've been about 10 lbs lighter and got about six inches from the bar.
-
^I think you'll see good results.

What I'm saying is that you are eating too little food. The headache is a sign of inadequate calories. That's not going to help you lose weight in the long run, it's going to result in you binging on everything you can get your hands on at some point. Starvation is not a weight loos tool. Google "TDEE" and run some of the…

If you're having headaches you likely aren't eating enough.

^yes, but sometimes you just need to test yourself. The girls give you a good way to creates bases for comparison going forward.

I'll add that there are plenty of posters on here who have done strength competitions, hopefully they see this and can give you the low-down.

You have to do what works for you. I like idea of using the WODS just for cardio. Look at a Wendler 5/3/1 program or something like that for your lifts. That worked really well for me this winter. I did the opposite, went from pure strength training (for decades) to CF and really enjoy the variety, even if I still have to…

You have some excellent Icelandic role models to follow if you so choose to from!

Great work everyone!

welcome, Sigga!

I jokingly said I got 3/4ths of one. I could see the top of the bar, but I know I didn't quite get my chin over. Just a matter of timing the kip/pull properly now. I'll keep working on that but I'm not going to string any together until I can do multiple pull ups from a dead hang. Shaved a minute off my previous time on…

Retesting at the end of our Paleo challenge. First is to see how many kipping pullups we can get. I got zero the first time, hoping to get my first tonight. I think it will happen. Then "DT Burnout" 3 RFT: 12 Deadlifts 9 Hang Power Clean 6 Jerks Rx = 155/105 I think I went at 135, will have to check my notes.
-
That's a ton of stress. Good luck and hopefully everything works out for you.

For us older guys, recovery and mobility are at least as important as doing the actual work, in my opinion. I haven't even really attempted squat cleans with any kind of weight becuse my front rack sucks so bad. BTW....Fallout 4 coming out in November set in Boston. I might be incommunicado for a few days when that hits :)
-
^That's awesome, I can't wait until I can get multiple pullups into a workout. Right now it's just a matter of losing weight.

One of the (if not THE) original East Coast boxes is Old Town in Arlington. The owner was Masters champion at least once, i believe.
-
^Where is your box? I visited NOVA Strength and Conditioning last fall for a drop in and really liked it. Nice facility and the WOD was right in my wheelhouse so I crushed it. :)

Yesterday's WOD: Run 5k. Ran the first half in 19 minutes without walking breaks then I had to stop and loosen one of my shoes because my foot was falling asleep. After that I could never get my breathing right and kept redlining. Finished in about 43 minutes. Given that I did a 5k in about 33 minutes a year ago, I need to…
