  • Welcome to the group. I hope the info is useful. You'll usually get a response here but it might not be that quick. Shay, sorry to hear about your knees. I have one good one and one that had the ACL reconstructed along with two menisectomies. That knee is starting to get a wee bit creaky. Not really limiting me once I get…
  • This is why it pays to practice for 5-10 minutes a day if you can and get them locked in when there is no pressure. For me I'm proud of getting back to it after about a month off due to ear surgery. Went twice last week and the goal is three or four times this week and then four times regularly with a run or two added in.
  • A good rope really makes a difference, as does taking care of it. I have a Starbi that I really like. Heavier handles work better for me. I'm on my second cable, the first one I let get kinked up a bit. I'm very careful about how I store the rope now to make it stays nice and loose. Still working on doubles but I'm much…
  • That is the toughest CF workout I've ever done. I could only manage 50 burpees when I did it. I just had nothing else left in the tank after that.
  • No worries, I figured I would throw it out there. Any tips? I'm a Hunter/Ranger Stormwarden build. Reallocated my points based on some web research and so far so good. Just finishing campaigns to get the buffs and working on getting my equipment leveled up. 9500 right now.
  • Intellivision and a Commodore 64. Ultima III on C64 was the one that hooked me, and Ultima Online is the only MMRPG I've ever played, mainly because if I spend a 10th of the time on the newer ones that I did on UO, I'd be divorced and probably homeless.
  • Wasn't able to do one this year as I had a long drive the next day and didn't want to drive 12 hours after doing Glen the day before (Grace, 1 mile run, 10 rope climbs, 1 mile run, 100 burpees)
  • I've never had a tear but I'm not strong enough/thin enough to do heavy pull ups or stuff like that, which is where I've seen most of them happen. A lot of the guys and girls in my gym who are higher level use grips for pull ups for that reason, as well as taping the bar to make it a bit softer. After a barbell heavy…

  • Been playing a lot of Neverwinter lately.
  • You aren't going to get big muscles doing CF without concerted effort and extra work (straight weighlifting.) You WILL get closer to the stronger and more defined look you mentioned in your first post. If that's the goal, at some point cardio is going to have to decrease and strength-based training is going to have to…
  • Great job everyone. I had to skip it this year because I worked until about 4am that Sunday. Look forward to doing it next year.
  • I really enjoyed this workout. I did it scaled (hanging knee raise, 35# dumbbell) and got eight rounds exactly. Hopped on the rower with 45 seconds left and finished that row with about 0.2 seconds left. 256 reps. Very happy with it.

  • Really llooking forward to it. ALready on pre order.
  • My last 3 times: 115: 3:35 115: 2:53 115: 2:53 135: 3:51 A few years back I RXd it at 3:20, but I was in better shape then.
  • Not at all. Tilt was built from the ground up. CFNE (with which we are affiliated) is more of what you'd expect in a CF gym. Except the fitness level of the athletes is through the roof and you see high level Games athletes there all the time.
  • I got 196 last year. Interested to see how I do this time around

  • I had lunge butt for about 3 days after this. Did scaled and stuck at pullups as well, but did ring rows instead just to finish the workout. so I think it was 78 official reps but 115 total with ring rows.

  • I did it this morning scaled. Squat snatch is not my best movement (stupid hips) but I managed to get 59 reps. 30 seconds left and failed #60. Wasn't thinking clearly because I should have then power snatched it and overhead squatted it. Tried again with about 10 seconds left and missed again. I got it to the bottom but…

  • 115 scaled. My back got to the point at about the 15 minute mark that I stopped and just did step ups and air assault bike sets for five minutes to finish the time. Probably would have had 50 more reps as I was doing snatches in sets of 10 with only about 5 seconds in between sets.

  • That was largely the issue I had with it too. I weight almost 300 lbs. I just can't be adding more weight, and I don't want to remain that weight and just convert it to muscle. I need to lose body fat and maintain my current muscle mass, and ETP was just too many calories to do that.
  • And occasionally Ben Bergeron teaches a class! :)
  • Update....another Icelander in the house today. Only the 3rd fittest woman in the world....
  • I liked it, but I had trouble staying with it. Breakfast was easy because I found a meal I really liked and learned how to tweak it (switch out certain elements) to mix up the flavors. I need to find a good lunch and dinner I like and do the same and just lock it in. I like the theory of it and I feel like I have a better…
  • Don't know any crossfitters but several active guys who have had it done. All said if they had realized how much pain they were living with (that was gone after the healing process) they would have had it done years before. I think it's a balance. The longer you can wait the better the implants and procedures get. But it's…
  • I've heard of people doing it and slow and steady was the verdict. Strict form at all times and if you couldn't get strict form adjust for it (boxes to lift the bar if you couldn't get down to it, etc.) Healing comes first. Talk to your trainers and PTs about where you expect and want to be and they can tailor your rehab…
