  • Walking is just about the only thing I do when I'm flared up - first thing in the morning I drink a lot of water (about 500 mL/16 oz) and then walk the dog for about an hour. It really helps loosen out my back. Be sure to wear good supportive shoes though or you will feel it.
  • strange - i've never had cravings past day 1... I usually get them leading up to the event. Avoid salt - it makes things worse in my experience. Stay plenty hydrated.
  • it took me 3-4 days to get through it at first. I used to eat a lot of sugary foods so my body was constantly expecting them. In my transition to eating healthier I substituted my sugary food snack with a sweeter healthy alternative (carrots, blueberries), to fill me up until the next meal. And now that I eat smaller…
  • I have a Danby unit that works very well - got it at Wal-Mart. I'm not sure what capacity mine is, but I also don't know what size of room or area you are trying to dehumidify. Works well in my tiny basement.

If you're in a lot of pain, lie on your back with your legs bent at 90 degrees and elevated so your shin is parallel with the floor (use something to prop your legs up) Some stretches you might be able to do are called "sloppy push-ups" (depending on how bad you are). Lay on your stomach…
  • I just started getting a local organic food box (canada's equivalent to CSA) this month and it's AMAZING!! Tried out so many great recipes that I never would have (because I wouldn't have bought pumpkin, kale or beets). Thai pumpkin soup. Broccoli salads. Kale chips. SO GOOD. So happy!! There's not much local in the winter…
