Tip for eating out....order a salad and have an appetizer as your main meal. Skip the bread--or have 1 pc and push the basket to the other side of the table. Drink lots of water while you're waiting for your food. If you have wine or other adult beverages, have them brought with the meal so you don't load up on calories…

I'm trying to get BACK to my DL weight. :grumble:

Greek yogurt. I like to cook with it, put it in recipes that call for yogurt. But can't stand it by itself.

Not so much that this bugs me, as amuses me and makes me wonder....Women, generally much older women, who bring their purses with them into the workout area and hang it on the treadmill/elliptical/bike or other gym equipment instead of locking it in their car.

Leftovers from last night. Ellie Krieger's Greek Stuffed bell pepper. Yummy.

Both. Mostly cardio at the gym. Yoga and circuit DVDs at home.

I"ve had asthma since I was 2. Mostly I've outgrown it, but I do use Flovent during the fall and winter months as a preventative, and I always have Albuterol handy--just in case. The only time I really have a problem with exercise and asthma is when it's very cold and I'm sucking in lungfuls of cold air.

3 years ago I was at 185. I'm 5'8'ish and at the time was 42 years old. It took me about 6 months to lose 25 lbs, which was my goal. I tried (and am trying again) to stick to about 1200 cal per day. I aim to workout 4-5 days a week, cardio and strength. I give myself room for goodies and try not to stress out too much out…

Brie...goat cheese...Manchego...cheddar...Jarlesburg....Bleu....any cheese...and wine....my 2 big downfalls. I've found some lowfat versions, but mostly I just find a way to work it in (lowfat or not).

Yeah, the 40s sort of suck in that regard. I totally hear you on that one. I have far more aches and pains than I did 5 or 6 years ago. But the soreness should ease up as you progress. Try mixing it up with some cardio here and there and don't forget to rest and drink plenty of water.

Get connected and log in every day. You've lost almost 30 lbs in a year! That's great. Don't give up now!

What about working out during lunchtime? A brisk 30-45 min walk is better than nothing at all. There are also many dvds you can do in the privacy of your own home--any of the Jillian Michaels' series come to mind.
-
My husband is supportive and honestly, he could use some working out too. Maybe you could you ask your spouse if he'd workout with you instead of watching--then it's a joint effort.

Are these side effects considered "common" or "rare"? I'd guess you probably feel crappy more because you've been sick and not necessarily from medication side effects.

Skinny cows. 100-calorie pack cookies. Meringue Cookies from Trader Joes.

I'm 5'8" and a half. 172. 45 years old. At my fittest, I was 160 (about 2 years ago). Got detracted by some medical issues and injuries and now I'm trying to get back to 160 and be as close to that fitness level as I can. 150 might be nice, but anything below that I'm pretty sure I'd look like a skeleton.

Happy Birthday, and congrats. You look great, but what's RMV? I assume it's like DMV?
-
I totally hear you on that one! I have nearly an hour commute 2x a day. By the time I get home, I don't want to do anything. I ended up joining a gym 5 minutes from my job so I can workout before hitting the commute home. What about getting your workouts in during lunchtime?
-
Hmm. Maybe she isn't all that kind. But seriously....you didn't "cave". You had a treat (unless you cleaned out the whole freezer by yourself). Don't beat yourself up. Just log it and move forward.

Ever since the whole "apples and apple juice is full of arsenic and we're poisoning our children" debacle on Dr. Oz, I pretty much ignore anything he has to say. Honestly, I'd say the Green Coffee Bean thing is probably another fad like acai berries and hoodia.

Brush your teeth right after dinner.

Burpees seems to the be running favorite...er, least favorite. Not a fan of burpees.

I know how you feel. Being at work all day, everything is very regimented. Weekends--that sort of falls apart. If you go out with friends, eat before going out so you're full and satisfied. At least that way, you have total control over what you are eating. Then you can indulge in a couple of drinks with friends.
-
Drink lots of water and rest. You probably shouldn't be working out every single day. Aim for 5 days a week, that way your body has a chance to recuperate.

Weight is just a number. Pictures say it all. And by the way, I want shoulders like that!

Just ignore them. Take away the things that help you, not hurt you. People can give constructive criticism without being jerks. Read with an open mind and don't take it too personally. Chances are they need support too. I'm all for sarcasm, but if you don't know the person, it can be taken as hurtful.
-
Both.

Isn't this what's called "calorie shifting" or the "zig zag diet"? You constantly vary your calorie intake thereby forcing your metabolism to adjust?
