I drink. I lost weight. I've maintained for almost a year now. You just need to learn to fit it in if that's what you want. Work out a little harder. Skip dessert in lieu of that extra booze. It can be done.

Good grief. Eat less. Move more. That's the only magic formula to weight loss. Detox drinks, shakes, hocus pocus whatever is nothing but smoke and mirrors and ways to separate you from your money...if you believe that, there's this bridge a whole bunch of us have to sell you.

Yes, road running is very different. Treadmills cushion your footfall and set the pace for you. The road is more challenging on the body. If you're training for a race, the road is the way to go--more realistic. But the treadmill has it's benefits too. I'm injured currently and the treadmill is my running friend.

As I got closer to my goal, I loosened my restrictions. Weekends pretty much became (and still are) "cheat" times. I eat healthy enough the majority of the time and get enough workouts in...it's all about balance.

Alarm goes off at 6AM every weekday. Out the door between 6:15 and 6:30. Weekends are different--get up whenever. But if I don't do it in the AM, it won't get done.

I see progress. It's easy to look at this or that body part and nit pick about why it's not perfect. But I also know that overall I've come a long way and I'm happy about it.
