Ugh, the first trimester was HORRIBLE. I couldn't do anything either, I was exhausted all the time and I kept getting hot and flushed just walking. Probably because your fat intake is extremely low these days. Try to add more healthy fats to your diet (salmon, avocado, olive oil, nuts/nut butter). Fat is good for you!

I would imagine the no HFCS thing would be very helpful for your average non-calorie-counter, since HFCS snacks are cheap, high in calories and ubiquitous. Nothing magical about cane sugar.

Yikes, you need to eat more. A LOT more. That calculation is not going to be accurate with how drastically you are undereating. Aim for a .5 lb per week loss since you're close to goal.

I used to be mocked for eating vegetables by someone that ate literally nothing but red hot cheetos and fruitopia. It was too hilarious to be irritating.

Just gotta say. The big grunting meatheads or whatever that deadlift and use the squat rack have always been the friendliest and least judgemental people at the gyms I have been to. I say this as a short fat pregnant woman, I'm sure I take the prize for "looks the most out of place in the weight room".

You can use a carton of lactose free milk to treat several gallons of regular milk. Pour off a bit of the regular milk, add a cup or so of lactose free, and let it sit for a day. Saves money!

I was a vegetarian for six years and went right back to meat with no issues at all.

I lost hair too eating 100+ grams of protein and 1800 calories a day. It didn't stop until a few months after I stopped losing weight. It was just one of those sucky things. The biotin seemed to help.

If you can already do 75 it seems kind of silly to drop down to just a 45 lb bar, but if it makes you feel safer go for it! The extreme soreness to begin with is more due to the unaccustomed exercise/movement more than the weight. If you want to drop the weight a bit no problem, just don't be afraid to bring it back up…

Just get back to it as soon as you can, your body will adapt and the soreness won't be as bad.

Could be DOMS. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delayed_onset_muscle_soreness The first few times I did squats I was in agony for days afterwards.

Are you sure you're not just sore? Squats and deadlifts can be brutal for soreness the first few times you do them. I'm talking, can't sit on the toilet sore.

Oh please. Pppppllleeenty of women on here have lost 50-150 lbs with heavy lifting and minimal cardio.

I usually sautee something that cooks FAST (like fish) while microwaving a bag of instant brown rice or seasoned frozen veggies. I chop up an avocado or fresh tomato to put on top of the rice or microwaved veggies while the fish is cooking. Very fast and the only clean up is the pan.
