  • I started out with an el cheapo gel seat from Aldi but after building up my kms and getting into cycling shorts, I've found it is actually more comfortable to ride without the gel seat. One bike magazine I read said that it was because there is less contact between the backside and the seat without the gel seat. Good luck.
  • Congratulations on taking your first steps. You will lose quickly to start and it will then slow down. Some weeks you won't lose anything but never ever give up. to answer your question about under-eating,yes,it is possible, just follow the calorie guide on here and you will be fine
  • 1. I had the morning off work 2. I politely but firmly told the person who rang to cancel our meeting this afternoon that he was the only reason I had come into the office today and I would not be available tomorrow so he had to rearrange himself to deal with that (assertiveness done with courtesy!) 3. Spontaneous decision…

  • Heading over for sure today but too bad. It's unusual for me so I know it will be ok as long as it stays rare. And it's still not as bad as my previous behaviours!
  • I suffered a prolonged period of bad anxiety after getting caught up in a street shooting a number of years ago. Definitely get professional help. It may take time but the sooner you start, the sooner you can feel better and more able to cope. Good luck.
  • Oh, that is so sad! I hit a dog one day and felt really bad, too. The owner was there and took it to the vet. I rang the vet later to see how the dog was and the vet yelled at me because I hit the dog - it had run out in front of me from between parked cars. I didn't have a chance of missing it.
  • Yep, definitely in love. And after 28 years of marriage it's just getting better all the time!
  • Bugger! I missed it, what happened? Oh, an on reality TV shows - nothing real about them. My friends were were on an Australian one about weddings and some of the things they have told me about what goes on behind the scenes was enlightening, sad and quite manipulative. They came last in their episode but I still rate…
  • Lots of great advice for you already. Please don't give up. You need to be in this for the long term. And also don't feel bad if you do eventually choose to go down the route of weight loss surgery. Just be sure to research very carefully and work closely with your medical team to make the choices that are right for you. I…
  • This has been a major life change for me and there is no way I could have or would have wanted to do this without the total support of my DH. He has been my champion throughout from eating choices to exercising together. Not only have I lost weight and become fitter and healthier, not only has he toned up and become fitter…
  • When my DH said he was scared of me ending up in a wheelchair, unable to dance or even walk, because of my morbid obesity. Now I am doing it for myself but I will never forget how deeply his comment touched me.
  • Not quite the gym but still workout related....I cycled 28km to work, hit the shower and was getting dressed when I realised I didn't have a clean pair of knickers. Felt gross all day.
  • Thank goodness for those other bodily changes, otherwise that super mo might have confused people! Lol.
  • I used to laugh at the whole cycling lycra thing until I got into cycling myself. The cycling shorts are a must for comfort, and even better apparently if you go commando under them (I quote my DH). The fitted legs reduce wind drag and the champions padding makes for a much more comfortable seat. I chucked my gel seat…
  • I am grateful - I woke up beside my DH again - We went for our Morning walk together - DH had his first adult swim lesson today - I reached out to a friend just cos she needed it - I had a great break through on a big challenge at work - My son made a tough but good career decision by thinking through both sides of the…
  • Definitely not! It will have been I. The danger zone (5 and 60 degrees Celsius) for more than 20 minutes. You will make yourself sick
  • 1. I beat the big hill - cycled to work on a different route which I have avoided because it has the killer hill that has always forced me to walk in the past. Today I made it all the way up without stopping! 2. I beat the big hill and the sun is shining 3. I beat the big hill and it's Monday so the slate is wiped clean…
  • Congratulations. I love cycling and it has helped me lose weight. Keep it up and enjoy
  • I was 19, he was 25 when we got engaged, married one year later, had been going out for about a year before we got engaged. Will celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary in April this year, so we have been together for a very happy 30 years.
  • It turned into an unplanned rest day cos I had to work  And then I let myself get sucked into the chocolate so it became a cheat day, too.:blushing: Bring on Monday! I'm cycling to work tomorrow - 28km.
  • That moment when you realize you can cycle up the BIG hill non-stop and not even get puffed.
  • MFP was discussed on a lapband forum as a useful tool for supporting weight loss.
  • Official title is communications officer, but lately that could be changed to official tender response writer. I work for a software development company supplying oil and gas, power generation, mining and minerals production and manufacturing sectors.
  • Congratulations. You deserve to be proud of yourself.
  • I have the gastric lap band and have lost 56kg in 10 months. Although I have worked very hard on managing my food choices and getting plenty of exercise, the band has also played a significant role in my success. It helps me to control how much food I eat. Sadly you will find a lot of ignorance and misinformation about…
  • I gave it up more than 10 months ago and honestly don't miss it at all. And it may be that time has dulled my memory, but I don't remember going through withdrawal, either. Good luck.
  • I hate it from people working in shops or people who don't really know me. Pet names are an earned right. Otherwise they are just lazy and condescending, not to mention artificial. Just wish I had the courage to say to them that I'm not their hun or sweety and never will be!
  • This has touched my heart. I hope everything turns out well and your BF can get the help he needs. He is lucky to have your loving support.
