Whiskey, diet ginger ale and lemon juice has become my drink since starting keto. But if I have more than one or two I find that I'm down in weight the next day because of the diuretic effect but then gain weight from storing water for the next few days. Then it takes another couple days of increased water intake to get…

I am also looking for more keto friends with open diaries. I keep my diary open and log most days with the exception of my night shifts because one day runs into another. Lol. I cook a lot of different recipes so feel free to inquire if you find something interesting :)

The internet has been a lifesaver for me as far as recipes and meal ideas go. I will usually pick 2 or 3 and prep for the week. I use a few different sites... ruled.me, low carb maven, peaceloveandlowcarb. There are so many, which makes me happy because I'm really partial to Thai food and there is no shortage of recipes.…

Your ketones were that high when you were eating a "normal" diet?
-
I know both high blood sugar and blood ketones is ketoacidosis and a scary thing. I'm not really new to keto but I did stop for a bit and have only been back on for about a month and a half. Thanks for your insight :) I'll just keep monitoring I suppose and see what happens.

Yes I am

I am not diabetic. It was just a random sugar throughout the day. I have since been tracking in the morning when I wake up and the numbers are a bit better. My glucose sits around 4.2 and my ketones have been 3.0 for the last couple days.
-
I read a few places that it should be between 0.5 and 3. And that people have a difficult time getting those readings at first at that. It's only been a couple weeks or so and they are super high. I thought maybe I was doing something with my diet perhaps a bit incorrectly.

I've just recently gotten back on the keto wagon and alas, all my friends have stopped posting. Feel free to add me!

Hey all! I would love more keto friends! Feel free to add me :)

That sounds great!

Lean meat has a lot less fat than a milkshake. To continue my previous example, tilapia has approx. 1.5g of fat in a fillet and 4oz of chicken breast has approx. 3.5g fat.
-
Do you not eat meat? 4oz of chicken breast has almost 30g of protein and 1 tilapia fillet has 20g. Greek yogurt and egg whites have a ton also.

I totally agree! Yoga is a killer! You need to be strong for all those vinyasas. lol. And if you aren't, which is the case for most of us starting out, you will be by the end of it!
-
I could only do "girl" pushups when I started, now I can do a few real ones. lol. And for sure you can add me. I warn you, I'm very bad at completing my food diary, though I do watch what I eat carefully.

I'm starting week two tomorrow and yes, it's hard, I'm not gonna lie. lol. But it really is a high when you complete it, which is addicting. It's also great when you can do something that you couldn't do last time.

I use Promasil from Rivalus in Milk Chocolate. 90 Calories, 0 carbs, 0 sugar, 20g protein.

I've seen a few suggestions about drinking your calories. I just want to caution about that as not all calories are created equal. Most drinks with high calories are also high in sugar which will not help you with your weight loss. Maybe a protein shake that is low in sugar might be an option.
-
Maybe it's just me, but I think sugar is one of the main things you should be tracking. It's the root of all evil with weight gain. Sugar, whether from fruit or from processed sources causes a spike in insulin. This insulin spike is what causes it to be stored as fat. While fruit is obviously not bad for you, on a weight…
