I don't know where you are in the world, but I find whey to be a relatively cheap source of protein (bearing in mind the number of servings you get in a pack). That said, if you want to conserve money, I would avoid, expensive, flavoured whey mixes and opt for the no-frills basic whey (your body does not care) and flavour…

The general consensus is that MFP underestimates calories burned during weight training (because it is very difficult to accurately determine how many calories your body uses to repair itself after the session) and overestimates cardio. But, as others have said - weight training is to be found in 'cardio' if you want to…

You are the same height as me and I am roughly 12% BF at 168lbs, which is where I bulked from last time, this time I want to cut to 10% before I bulk. And as others have said, you ned to lift whilst cutting to maintain your muscle mass.

And as a scientist, you should know that a unit of measurement is what it is. Ergo, a calorie IS a calorie. However, the point that you make can be condensed thus: The body is not a bomb calorimiter. 100% of your food intake is not utilised as energy, either kinetic or stored as fat - the efficiency of your body in…

Nice strawman....

Possibly a failure to grasp imperial measurements. If you are French and want to gain weight, the answer is clearly cheese.

Without meaning to be big headed, I reckon I know a fair bit about dogs in general. I would have no problem whatsoever in giving them egg yolk.

Your logic and reasoning have no place on this thread.

Yeah, we lose more fodder like that than you realise.... Damn fire-breathing cattle. I bet they are the real culprits behind the heath fires too.... Luckily, I'm a sheep man so I avoid those problems. Sheep don't do that, its the wool...retains water.

When I decided to post that .gif way back up there - I had actually typed out and deleted several sentences...all of then would have got me kicked off the forums...

I've met the odd bootneck in my time and I can tell you that none of them have ever eaten like that....

Er yeah, I can assure you that I totally killed them all and juiced them all myself and they were, like totally poisonous and stuff. :smokin:

I find my teeth do a wonderful job of macerating my food before it enters my stomach......and they are free!

I have some snake oil - 100% legit...made from real snakes..... You want in, bro?

There will always be a margin for error in any sweeping statement like that. I dealt extensively with animal feed nutrition at college and all individuals have a varying FCR (feed conversion ratio) - the point is, it gives you an approximation to start off with. You may find that through experimentation you convert feed…

Biology not your strongest subject, is it?

We have very little idea what carb sources were eaten pre-agriculture because they break down in the gut pretty quickly and don't leave bones etc, so we rely on the discovery of 'mummified' corpses in bogs etc. For example - in northern Europe, the flag iris produces a very edible, very carb-rich tuber and it is found at…

Just eat, lift and rest. You need to be hitting 1g protein/500g lean body mass (you can use inline calculators to guesstimate what your LBM is. Carbs are important when you bulk, so don't skimp on them. I put on .5 lb/week muscle on about 3200 calories, but I am 6'0". You will gain fat (unless you want to try and recomp…

Sucrose spikes insulin much more effectively than fructose, which is why bodybuilders drink it post work out - that insulin spike is very useful for building muscle if you are in a surplus and aids recovery when you are not. So, in this instance, sucrose is a much better bet than fructose and the banana of which you speak…

Also: If your hard boiled egg yolks are chalky you are doing it wrong, they should be cooked, but soft (not runny). Boil for 7 or 8 mins (depending on the size of egg) and plunge straight into cold water (change the water after a minute or two if you are doing a lot of eggs as they heat the water up)
