  • I did the Spike diet and lost 30lbs on it. You eat higher calories for 3 days per week and lower for 3 days then have a "spike" day where you eat the highest amount of calories. I actually found it on the forums here on MFP.
  • Agreed!! The only ones I drink. Chocolate is my favorite!
  • After my dog tripped me and broke 3 bones in my hand, I purchased a haltie (like a gentle leader) & a short leash. She cannot run out in front of me and the haltie controls her head. She is now controlled & by my side. Foot note, it takes the dog a few walks to get use to the haltie. I would walk with it first, then start…
  • I also had a major plateau so I tried zig zagging my calories. I ate at BMR 3 days, ate at BMR minus 500 the other 3, than had 1 day where I ate twice my BMR. (free day). It worked FANTASTIC for me, I lost 30lbs doing that. Good luck, plateaus suck but hang in there!
  • Higher BMR---more calories to eat!
  • I also have wrist & shoulder pain (arthritis) when doing push ups. I do them on the wall or use the Smith rack, I have no pain at all when I do them this way.
  • Week 1= -.5 Week 2= -1.0 Week 3= -2.0 Week 4= 0 Week 5= 0 Stayed the same this week. That is OK with me, I will keep plugging along. My success is now going to be based on how my clothes feel, & I am going to try & let the scale go. Does anybody have a recommendation for a good split weight lifting routine that has been…
  • Congrats on maintaining over rest week & then losing! That is fantastic!!
  • Fantastic, thanks so much, always happy when I find out I should be eating more!
  • Week 1= -.5 Week 2= -1.0 Week 3= -2.0 Week 4= 0 Eh, not too happy about about staying the same since I did this week what I had done the previous weeks & lost weight. Might be time to change it up again!
  • My goal has always been to be in my healthy BMI range. I think this goal will go out the window along with my scale. Thank you for the great post & making me realize this!
  • Whew, I thought so just wanted to confirm! I really didn't want another reason to plateau, my body has found enough!!
  • I do not take any beta blockers, or any prescription medicine, I have low blood pressure & my resting heart rate is 50. Does this apply to me also or is just because of the blockers? I know I have been on a plateau for months, (finally broke it), and I always have had a hard time losing weight.
  • Week 1= -.5 Week 2= -1.0 Week 3= -2.0 Finally broke through and have lost 31lbs!! So excited, I was stuck at 28lb loss for months! Hopefully, the scale will keep moving!
  • Congrats on the weight loss & completing Body Revolution! You should be very proud of yourself for having the determination to sick with it!
  • Congrats! That is great loss, I'm glad the scale finally moved for you, I know the feeling!
  • I decided to go through my summer clothes this weekend & organize to get them ready for Spring. To my surprise, delight, & a little bit of sadness, I have NO shorts that fit me, they are all too big!! Now my dilemma, do I keep them just in case, or do I give them away? I have yo yo dieted before, but this time with the…
  • Thank you Jendarlin, you also! It's great to have a active group again thanks to 4theking!
  • Bench press, Incline bench press, Dumbell press & incline, push-ups, cable cross-overs. As previously stated you cannot spot reduce but you can firm up the muscles and that will help.
  • To lose 16lbs of fat To eat more protein to gain muscle & increase weights every session My 50th birthday is in December, so I want to achieve these goals by then & be rocking a swimsuit on a sandy beach!

  • Your body is getting in better condition, which is a great thing, however, now you must push yourself harder (jump higher, move your feet faster, etc...) to stay in your target heart range. A lot of people plateau because they keep doing the same thing at the same rate & their body is conditioned to it & has adapted to it.…
  • Week 1= -.5 Week 2= -1 Down 1.5lbs which is more than exciting for me because I think I have finally broke through a 3 month plateau!!!! So excited.....
  • I have found when I lift lower body being they are a larger muscle group, my heart rate is higher & is close to my THR. Lifting my upper body does not. I would believe it if you had limited amount of rest between sets & did lunges, squats, deadlifts, etc...
  • Do intervals mixed with some weight training. Sprint for 30 seconds, rest for 30 seconds for 5 minutes, then jump off & do some jumping jacks, squats with shldr presses, etc... then repeat... time goes by a lot faster doing this & your still keeping your heart rate up.
  • If you have a Target superstore in your area, they carry Healthy Ones in turkey, chicken, & roast beef and they slice it for you at their deli. Salt content for 3 oz is 500 vs the 900.
  • Still in mourning the Broncos did not make it in :( The positive is it will save me some calories since there will be no partying around here.
  • This!! I have owned my FT4 for over 5 yrs & it hasn't missed a beat. It tracks the basics which is all I wanted. Thanks for the heads up on the great price at Sears, I just ordered myself one as a back up if this one ever finally goes out.
