  • Bellydancer reporting in! Definitely not just a "core" workout - if you've got a good teacher, by the end of class, your glutes, quads and calves will be burning, your shoulders will be limp, and your arms could fall off! The reason why is all about proper posture - your knees are always bent, chest is up, arms…
  • Sooo... does this mean going wine-tasting all day and then running an hour on the treadmill before I go out to the nightclubs ISN'T going to help me get fit? ;) LOL!
  • A super smooth dark chocolate shake: 1 scoop Sunwarrior 1 med/lg banana 1 cup of almond milk 1 cup of water 3 tbsps. cocoa powder 1 tsp. cinnamon Blend the banana and almond milk first. Add cocoa powder, cinnamon, Sunwarrior. Thin with water to desired consistency. Best served cold :) Or try adding 1 tbsp. almond butter!…
  • It's easy when you've got a rhythm going! Find some killer cardio, that's what really burns the most, then add in a quick weigh-training session and some form of sport or exercise for fun. I've burned between 400 - 600 calories per day, consistently, with this formula... Or, skip the weights or sports, and just hop on the…
  • Can you do both? :) I've taken both... here's the scoop. Hot Yoga is just that - HOT yoga. You will SWEAT. And sweat. And sweat more. It's amazing. This is great if you're trying to detox, or just want to work up a nice sweat, get the pores open, and maybe flush some water weight! Bikram Yoga is a specialized type of Hot…

  • @Azdak:Thank you! This is quite helpful - I am going to start strength training twice a week, on an upper/lower body split. I was considering doing conditioning anyways, because my yoga inversions are weak! @DavPul: Well if you want to go the snarky route, LOL! I appreciate tangible contributions, but since that's not what…

  • Thanks guys :) I'm gonna keep this up for another week or so and start adding in some weight training here and there... I'm thinking of Tuesday and Sunday to start, maybe I can fit in a Thursday morning before my English class! @MoreBean13: I haven't been sleeping as much as I should be due to work/home stress and caught a…
  • Almond butter is seriously more addictive than crack, sugar, cigarettes, and movie-marathons combined. I used to bulk on Apples n Almond Butter to the point that I considered being the poster-girl for gluttony ;) or almond butter n banana sandwiches... or almond butter on oatmeal... or almond butter smoothies... Yikes.
  • Measure out EXACTLY what you have logged and can eat, put it on a small plate with your crunchy of choice (seriously - eat it with veggies, not bread), and put the container away, in the back of the fridge. Wash the spoon you used. Don't even think about getting up and getting more. If you think you want another spoonful,…
  • Cranberry juice cut with water. Lemon juice in water. Apple Cider Vinegar in water. Ginger Tea. Peppermint Tea. Green Tea. Jasmine Tea. Any kind of tea, because TEA. Yerba Mate and almond milk. "Chocolate Milk" (blend: 1 banana, 1 scoop protein powder, 3 -4 tbsps. unsweetened cocoa powder, 2 cups almond milk) oh, and…
  • My initial goal (by March 6th) is 125 lbs. Since I'm trying to build muscle, however, that's not reasonable in the long term. It'll probably be closer to 130 when I'm lifting heavily. It's really more about measurements for me though - I'd rather be 36 - 26- 37 and 130 lbs than 34 - 27 - 38 and 125 lbs, you know? :)
