Don't know about you, but I feel that the increase in all-around confidence isn't really so much about the "new" body but of the "new" mind; after the self-discipline and accomplishment that it takes to lose a large amt of weight (and keep it off, along with new lifestyle) is what changes your level of self-confidence.

This is not weird! I went from a size 9 to a size 7! Maybe it's a combo of less fat there + less weight being distributed onto them so that the pads of the feet aren't spread out so far. Just a theory.

When you change places you work, and see the ex-coworker from the old place and they literally do not recognize you. When you get whistled at while running :# Can't stand that one. When gross men try to talk to you at the store. #istillwanttobeleftalone When you fit into a size 5 jean shorts and remember 100 lbs ago when…

None of these things work any more than the individual putting the dedication into them.

All of these programs are simple someone trying to take advantage of those who lack personal responsibility. (Those who are placing the work and responsibility on a product instead of their own choices and working on self control)

Stop. He's better off not knowing what he's missing out on in life.

Well, this study seems to be more specific to those who already have heart disease - hypertension. Although I see the significance of putting a number into one's risk factors, shouldn't the fact that you already have high blood pressure be the thing that makes you want to get healthier? It's not, though, for so many (my…

Yeah, no, that's something completely different in my opinion. There is a very strong physical dependence there (with alcohol)

Can't help you here with experience. I'm a heavy, salty sweater. Halfway through my run this morning the sweat was dripping down into my eyes and burning. Maybe you aren't working out as hard as you think you ar. have you checked your pulse mid-exercise?

Because they aren't willing to change. I know this isn't the best analogy - but surely crack addicts know crack is bad? Surely that guy with diabetes who's repeatedly admitted to the hospital knows he shouldn't be chugging soda and what not? Knowledge isn't the first step in change, acknowledgement is. You can look in the…

I say set it to lightly active or active and go from there. Don't add work as cardio. That should only be for separate exercise.

Oatmeal. With light brown sugar and cinnamon. Mmmm.

I don't do it regularly, but swimming is so underrated by the fitness community. To put it into perspective: i run 6 miles at a clip at a decent pace (so I'm used to steady state cardio). A couple of times this week I took my kids swimming at the city pool and did a few laps. Man. My heart rate was up and I was breathing…

Girl, that is awesome and you should be proud. I won't make the effort to mow the lawn and I'm 135 lbs. (Because it's so much work!!)

Love this! 5219+ 100 (me) = 5319

Yea, I've found that eating before an event just means I'm going to overeat that much more (the food at the event + the food I ate before) haha. I personally have found that for me, the best way is to plan ahead by banking those calories earlier in the week and not going overboard with the Amt of eat / food choices while…

It is no different on a physiological level Psychological is a different story entirety.

I second the free weights, as much as possible. There really isn't any machine's movement that doesn't have a free weight equivalent. Although I'd say free weights are superior anyway. & lots of calisthenics for toning your belly.

Your post is inspiring because it's so honest. You're amazing!!

Women in definite particular have the strong genetics for where their fat accumulates. "She got it from her momma" - 100% truth. In my family, even the women in size 0 have tendency to have bigger arms. On my dads side, no one has any behind! I'm one of those people - I think - who seems to have a muscular build and I…

Pshhh, try being a nurse. 12 hours and there's rarely a 30 minute clock-out. We just run and eat for 10 minutes when we can. OP, I used to be a server and I worked that same shift. I say eat right before you go into work and right after. And bring healthy snacks that you can throw down intermittently during your shift.

Hm. Interesting article. It says, literally, to consume 1380 calories a day and to exercise 45 minutes a day. Those numbers don't make sense unless you're seriously tiny. For example, to maintain my weight without exercise I'm at 1850 and my TDEE is more like 2200-2300. & I do cardio maybe a total of 200 hours a week…

You know what I can't wear anymore? Strapless anything. A strapless bra does not help at all. My breasts went From DD to a small B and have deflated terribly. I'll be getting a breast lift before I can do anything requiring a strapless bra. :/

The weight you see is real but it certainly doesn't represent fat gain. You know that's impossible unless you're eating at such a surplus, and you're clearly not. It's so easy to get drawn into this mindset of fear, but don't let it make you not enjoy life.

There's a running music Pandora station that I have no idea how it took me so long to find. I've been on it for a week. It's amazing!!

I have a solution for you, but you won't like it .
