I've been trying to stick to MIller Lite when I go out. It has 96 calories and 3.2 carbs. I used to drink vodka and coke, but now I try to avoid the coke, and since I can't handle vodka without a sweet flavor, I've gone back to the beer. I should try the vodka tonic with a splash of cran though, that might be good.

I try to use olive oil for just about everything that requires oil, it is high in calories but is very healthy for you. Also, I have a microwave popcorn bowl, it has a lid and is vented from the bottom. It pops plain kernels without any oil. And If I want to add flavor I quickly spray the popped corn with cooking spray and…

Another thing I forgot to mention... what type of shoe do you use? Running shoes are not always good for aerobics and other types of exercise, as they are made mainly for forward motion. Ask your doctor abour using cross trainers, they are made for side to side stability and support as well as forward motion. I have…

I just got done doing the one mile workout to warmup before I lift weights. I have always entered the walking videos as low impact aerobics, because you do more than just walk in place. For me it says I burn 101 calories per 15 minutes of low impact aerobics, if I increase my intensity and jog in place, and add more…

I have that same problem, felt like a cramp on the outside of my right foot. I think it's because my feet are laterally rotated and the impact is mostly on the outer part of my foot rather than evenly across the whole foot. And now I have to put contured inserts into all my workout shoes, ones that will form and shape to…

I bought a scale that gave me three different weigts in a matter of 3 minutes (no eating or going to bathroom) You might want to try weighing yourself a few times in within a couple minutes and see if the numbers are all the same, if they're not, you have a scale that is a pain in the butt, (like mine was) And if your…

Everyone should snack to maintain a healthy metablolism throughout the day, or call it a meal if you wish. It's been said by SO many health and fitness professionals that you shoud eat 5-6 small healthy, balanced meals throughout the day rather than 3 large meals. But if having a couple allowed "not healthy snacks" means…

I usually log my ab workouts in the strength section, unless is more strenous and sweat inducing, then I log it as cardio strength training and that burns about 20-40 calories per 10 min.

Good idea, I will check that out! I had trouble finding that link, so I just went to.... www.thehungersite.com

I usually always use orbitz.com or travelocity.com I think I have tried expedia.com too. I'm not sure which has student rates, but any one of those will be a good place to start checking and comparing prices, and then once you see what each airline's prices look like those sites, then maybe you could visit the airline's…

I have been using one on and off for a few years now. At first it might hurt and may leave bruises the first few times you use it, so maybe only use it once or twice the first week or two and work up to more useage. I like mine, but I don't use it often enough... Even though I use it very sporatically now, I don't get any…

I wouldn't even call it a 'cheat' but rather a "treat" A little something extra once in awhile! Knowing that once in a while, (as in once a week for me) we can have a special meal, then we can feel so much more "normal" (for lack of a better word?) That we're not banned from those yummy treats every so often. It's…

I just talked to a friend who is a gym owner/personal trainer/helath nut. She has tried the polar f4 and now she has an f6, she highly recommends these. Her f6 gives constant readings and works with most gym equipment. So I guess that's what I'll shop for.

Your entire body, organs, skin, mind etc is so much more happy and more efficient when you are eating a healthy balanced diet with adequate calories. Please don't do a major dive and cut your food intake to a dangerously low level. This will only hurt you in the long run. There are very few people who really should only…

Does it monitor constant HR or take readings every so often?

Do all "good" heart rate monitors need a chest strap? I would like to get one, but might go crazy if I had to wear a chest strap, but would like an accurate, good monitor.

Click on anyone's name (my "name" is srb2000, above my picture on the left) to see their profile, then you can click on the box that says add as friend in their profile. I'm not sure if or how to search for someone though. It's nice to have a few people to connect with everyday to help you stay on track, in addition to…

I am going out for sushi tonight...mmmm. Because it's a rare special meal, and I do want to try a couple special rolls, I am keeping my daily calories a little lower than normal to make up for a higher calorie supper. But I am more aware and will not get the tempura flake roll, and will fill up on more soup and veggies so…

Be sure not to use anthing with soaps or scents, that can make the problem worse. I have been told by dr's and nurses to clean with plain clear water, and dry well, and as mentioned loose cotton clothing. And if you can't get to a shower, a clean wet washcloth and a change of underwear....thing is, now that this topic has…
