Just take it slow. Don't push yourself into running too quickly. Something you may want to try is the Couch to 5k app. It gradually transitions you into being able to run a 5k. I did it just to be able to set realistic running goals.

When I was doing my student teaching, I did a version of the challenge. I would eat the meal bar on the way to school in the morning, eat the cereal with skim milk and either fruit or yogurt with it, and eat a healthy dinner- grilled chicken, baked potato, whole grain pasta. I did the c25k last year, and I really enjoyed it. I may end up doing it again this year, just so I can improve my running speeds. It is a very motivational app- one of my favorites!

I also had an ankle injury a few years back, but with physical therapy, I was determined to be able to run again. I make sure I wear a flexible, yet supportive brace when I run.
