  • Nothing really, what has changed is portion sizes and how often I eat certain things.
  • You'd perhaps be a little selfish if you were not going out to eat with him or forcing him to stick to what you prefer to eat. Your plan sounds totally reasonable and I think you should talk to him as he's supposed to be supportive, not kick up a fuss for no reason. Could it be that perhaps he thinks you're getting too…
  • Borderline underweight girls? LOL Not saying that all 5'4'' girls look ill at 110 pounds but you'd need to have a tiny frame to pull that off. 110 pounds is not the norm for that height.
  • ^^^^ This! I'm 5'4'' - got down to 135 a couple of years ago and looked ill. 142 is approximately my goal. Don't think about the number on the scales too much, think about how you look and re-assess your situation as the lbs come off.
  • My most honest suggestion is go cold turkey. As well as weight gain, you should think about what it does to your teeth... Fizzy drinks every now and then but all the time in such large quantity simply isn't healthy.
  • That is AMAZING - you should be so proud!! Are you really sure you want to lose another 20kg?!
  • Errr - and how exactly is that going to teach you how to be healthy for life?! Remember guys - we're not here just to lose weight, we're here to learn not to get ourselves in this situation EVER AGAIN!
  • I know it's difficult to accept but, just like I have been for many many years, you are your worst enemy. However, the good news is that you can really achieve what you want if you put your mind to it. Don't take this the wrong way - I'm just telling you what I think would've genuinely helped me at your age, 10 years ago…
  • If you're sticking to the calories that MFP set you, then yes - like others said, not just for the sake of it but definitely plan more food throughout the day on the days when you know you'll be exercising. Also, keep in mind that if you don't have a heart rate monitor and record your exercise calories using the MFP…
  • Please don't take this the wrong way but patience is one thing that you will definitely need. I've learnt at my own expense - keep in mind that the average woman burns 2000 calories per day (this doesn't include exercise) so even if you were to eat a little more, but be consistent, you will keep losing - without doubt.
  • Hello and welcome!! My most honest opinion is that, given your starting weight, you can easily start eating far more than that and more easily stick to it for the long term :) Let me guess, did you put you want to lose 2lbs a week?
  • The only thing I have excluded is junk food (fast food and takeaways) and severely limit sweet treats. I have tried excluding certain foods in the past but for me it never worked for long. My personal opinion is that you need to find what works for you, however, this has got to be something that you can keep up in the long…
  • Can we please get away from the idea that healthy eating means steamed chicken and salad?! What exactly do you mean by healthy foods? There are plenty of meal ideas that you can try - and surely this doesn't mean you need to force down things you really don't enjoy, you just need to get a little creative with it! However,…
  • I pre-log 9 times out of 10. Even if I'm not 100% sure on quantities I just add an average portion, then tweak to reflect exactly what I'm eating. It helps me stay on track and get off my bum more if I notice I need more exercise to make up for what I have planned for the day! If I logged after eating I'd constantly be…
  • Don't take this the wrong way but you must have eaten WELL OVER 1920 calories per day to find yourself overweight - nothing personal, this applies to you and 99% of MFP users :) Remember that the "average" woman requires around 2000 to maintain a healthy weight - and that's not for someone overweight or someone who does as…
  • Yeah, I was going to suggest this too. If, generally speaking, you already know you'll be on the low side perhaps you can plan for a bigger breakfast, lunch or a couple of snacks rather than forcing yourself to eat more in the evening.
  • How many calories do you NET on your average day?
  • In my experience it's simply a matter of saying NO :) Unfortunately there are no other ways of doing this. However, the one thing that does help is making sure that you don't go hungry throughout the day! Bring your own sweet but healthy treats to work!
  • It depends what you're like but I'd get seriously bored of eating the same things over and over again. Add some fun to that diet! Personally I think it's the only way you'll be able to stick to it in the long term. Is there any reason why there's no veg or carbs in your plan?
  • Is eating going to solve the issues you and your husband argued about? NO. Then don't do it.
  • A nice meat and veg stew would be good!
  • I am sure we tend to burn more when it's cold (i.e. our body require more energy to maintain an adequate temperature) but I'd love to know to what extent!
  • I'd love to find out more about this too! I've also been SO cold and hungry all week!
  • With carrot and tomato I'd probably weigh everything individually :)
  • What kind of stuff is in the salad? If it's just lettuce and other greens I probably wouldn't bother entering everything individually.
  • The whole point of logging is not to get a "Well done" or "Bad day" from friends - no one is here to judge, we all make crap choices from time to time. However, I must say that logging everything (even if it's just an estimate) does help in the long term - it helps you make better choices in the future, it helps you…
  • Like the others said, it all depends on how much you have and how often you have it. I sometimes have it but it's not the kind of thing I'd have everyday - not because of its calories and fat content, but because I personally see it as a treat and I need to get into the mindset that treats are a "once in a while" type…

  • I've made something like this before - it's delicious! Also works a treat with Quorn mince for a lower fat/vegetarian option.
  • Errr, no, it's not. The odd day below 1200 NET is fine every now and then but overall you should be definitely eating more!! Not judging here but I'm not even sure where you find the energy to function and exercise eating so little. You can achieve better results, not go hungry and be healthier eating far more than that!
  • My most honest opinion is that without doubt you can still keep losing by doing that BUT binging is not going to help you in the long term, especially when it comes to changing your attitude towards food. Personally I think it's totally fine (say once a week) to eat things you wouldn't include in your every day diet…
