It took me about 8 months to figure out that my BFM was overestimating my burn by 12%. I had been aiming for a deficit of 10-15%, so that meant I had actually been eating at maintenance on the days where I thought I was on a deficit and was eating a surplus on days I thought I was eating at maintenance. Now that I know…

Body media arm bands are not 100% accurate. After months and months of using the device and logging 100% of my food and not losing anything, I made a spreadsheet and found that my BMF band is overestimating my burn by 12%. Since I was aiming for a 10-15% deficit based on on the BMF, I was actually at maintenance the whole…

Great response. Sprint triathlons and Beginnertriathlete.com got me going on my way to eventually doing an Ironman. Brick workouts (bike ride followed immediately by a run) during training really help too. Don't forget to recover after the race with a nice cold beer!

^This!

Did you check Settings>> Preferences? What is the Logging Mode set to?

Ralph Wiggum: I saw Principle Skinner and Mrs. Krabapple in the closet making babies, and I saw one of the babies, and one of the babies looked at me!!

Yes, I will. I will also eat and drink what I want to and log it as accurately as I can. The body keeps its own count either way. Whatever my count ends up at, I will not beat myself up over it and I will not try to 'work it off' with anything over my normal workout plan. It's only one day, after all!

Do they work? They work as shoes that make your steps all wobbly and put you at risk for twisting your ankles. Source: I was suckered into buying a pair several years ago.

Have you heard of the show Secret Eaters? It features people who are puzzled about why they're not losing weight while not eating very much. The answer is: they're eating more than they think. Sometimes, a lot more. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bJgpvMMm3U

Good luck! Don't forget that it's ok to pee in your wetsuit. :)

Stop reading and start lifting.

Maybe you should say "contains natural ingredients" instead of claiming that it's natural.
-
Where do the Isagenix plants grow? If you don't find it in nature, how 'natural' can it be?

is there anyone out there that has actually repeated stage 7? I'm just about done and am trying to decide between repeating Stage 7 or starting the whole program again.

Sometimes I sign up with a friend but then run at my own pace (I don't feel we have to run together). A lot of times, I sign up on my own.
-
I could have written that, almost word for word. :)

Tuck your shirt into your pants. That will help.

Light beer is bad for you because it tastes bad.
-
It would be more wasteful to force yourself to eat food that you don't really want to eat (but you're eating it just because it's in front of you) than to throw it out.

"Heavy" is a relative term. What's heavy for one person might not be heavy for another. If it felt heavy to you, then yes, it counts!
-
I think that if you're using the BMF to track how much you burn, you should be using its Calorie Goal number too. How much weight do you have to lose? Maybe a 2 lb per week goal is too aggressive.
-
Holy crap. What are you supposed to do if you can't actually do a negative chin-up? I dropped like a rock but kept trying.
-
^This is an awesome idea!
-
I use the BMF numbers to make sure that I'm at a 300-500 calorie deficit for the day and log my food in MFP.
-
^This. And cheese!

I workout at home and I am one workout away from finishing Stage 5.
-
This has probably been asked before but I can't find it: What happens at the end of stage 7. I'm half way through stage 5 and am starting to think about what's going to happen afterwards. Do I do the whole thing again? Do I look for a different program? What have others done when they reached the end? :)

Why bother drinking beer that tastes like water? I'd rather drink water or beer that tastes good to me and deal with the marginal calorie difference.
-
Sounds like you're hangry.

I drink it because it lasts longer than cow's milk. I travel a lot for work and got sick of throwing out spoiled milk so I made the switch.
