The healthy oils that WW recommends helped me.

I was in WW about 10 yrs ago and on their forums this nonsense was everywhere. I tried to point out how it wasn't logical but OMG they adament. But interesting to see if they are still clinging to it.

I did the C25K and now I can run for over an hr...so I guess that makes me a runner ;) You can do it.

Are you sure he wasn't just trying to strike up a convo with a pretty girl?? We have established he is lacking in social skills, and we all know if we are out running being stopped is a disruption in your rhythm. Long ago I was out on a walking trail and there was a very large older female out walking, my first thought was…

It was suggested once, I think Weight Watchers meeting, that it can take up to a year for the skin to adjust to the weight loss. I think that was just a general time frame to let us know it would take time.

I am not a "low carb" diet the way many mean it here but when I was dx with t2 diabetes in December, my nutritionist set me some guidelines. 150 g carbs a day. She said if I stayed at that then my calories would be low enough to have a deficit to promote weight loss. With MFP I am tracking both and she was correct. And I…

My first thought is NO... ski date with ex.... but more info needed. Is it a group outing with maybe a batch of their mutual friends?? What are the sleeping arrangements?? Was the bf invited and couldn't attend? I do believe trust is important in a relationship, but also not putting yourself into compromising situations…

Dating online has similar risks if you meet someone in a bar and gave him your number. Personally I don't do the bar scene. I have had odd situations but thankfully nothing over the top. You have to keep safety in mind is the bottom line.

I have also seen the disclaimer "results atypical " which means the same but many people don't realize it... possibly seeing "typical " instead

Kitchen scale to weigh your food on is what RodaRose is mentioning not a scale to weigh yourself. I have a WW scale like you mention and it is finicky to say the least.
-
I would say perhaps because they see your success and are mentioning what they have in mind to lose weight and expect feedback.

I lost weight over the holidays (and my birthday) but that is because I was dx with diabetes Dec 16th, so things had to change asap! Just get back on plan (whatever plan it is you follow) and it will come back off pretty quick.

With the surgery she should have been on a Dr's supervised low calorie plan. It sounds like she is either doing that same plan again to lose the weight or hadn't shifted to maintenance mode. Going back to the Dr is the best suggestion.

A great cook can cook healthy meals too without losing favor. And it sounded like you are making more food than necessary for your family size? I would hope you would want to model good portion control to your children too before weight becomes an issue for them as well. Just a thought. As for count the calories...yes it…

I am a little confused why anyone would want to spend that much money when you could just as easily buy prepackaged food at your local grocery store. Plenty of choices. I know JC don't have their products there but WW and many others do. Just a thought.

Where do we find the new thread for this challenge?

Add me too...soooo looking forward to spring!

Basal Metabolic Rate is the amount of energy expressed in calories that a person needs to keep the body functioning at rest. And just because you have fat storages doesn't mean that is where the body will necessarily get the energy required.

I am going to guess that much difference could be either the scale needs new batteries or perhaps replaced. I have certain foods even if they are in my calorie limit for the day will give me a uptick on the scale due to sodium and water retention...every time. I agree with the good advice to use more than just the scale to…

What I find most amusing is there is an ad to the right of this thread on my page advertising said "miracle pill".

It takes time for your mind to catch up with your weight loss. You will see your reflection in a store window and not recognize yourself. How long for this to happen really depends on you, everyone is different but I think it happens a lot more than people realize. I also find it difficult with people start treating you…

I think that is asking a little too much from your body. You can hit a plateau that you have no control over no matter what you eat or how much you exercise. Just do your best and see what happens.

Are you willing to lose the friendship by saying something and making it very awkward between you too??? Just a thought. My daughters now BF was in a very serious relationship with another. He tried to ask my daughter if she had feelings for him but she would deny anything but friendship. She did not want to be the reason…

If you need a meeting setting you might see if there is TOPS group close to you. Much cheaper. And I have done WW, and see family use it. Big secret they don't tell you is their success rate overall isn't any better than going it on your own. It is like anything else...it is a tool...if you use it, then it will work for…

When my mom was on WW many moons ago (before points) when they hit maintenance you did x amount of weeks of it...and first week you added back 100 cal per day (I assume it is X pts back) and you do that each week til your weight loss stops so you know what your intake should be to maintain. Great advice given here on this…

So glad to know I am not crazy...yes, this was about 30 yrs back but I have been fighting weight since and never even gotten close (lowest since was 183 lbs). I know it is only a number on the jeans but will be neat when I can buy some of these "vanity" jeans. lol

The stats on this are staggering and rather depressing. The reason they gain it all back is they quit doing what was working for them. I have seen it over and over. Quit tracking their food...quit exercising. My mom and aunt were both life time members of WW and regained all of it...lost it...gained...lost gained.
