  • Haha, fortunately I have been. I'm currently going to nursing school and am in the process of becoming a live organ donor for my aunt who is in need of a kidney (that was my initial motivation)[/quote] That is so awesome! CONGRATS! There is no better gift! Change things up a bit. If you're used to weights add some cardio,…
  • If you never do this then it sounds like your body is craving it. Eat more honestly. Bump up your net calories to like 1300 and see if that helps. I was at 1200 calories for a year with a regular cheat day and lost 35 pounds. Now since then I've gained some back and in this time of my life I have found that 1350 calories…
  • I own the Microsoft Band and it's amazing. The only downfall that I have found is the clasp to hold it on is loose and have already had to send it in to get replaced and it's big so it's not something that works well at a desk job where your wrists are constantly on the desk.
  • Asics all the way! :D On pair two in 3 years... I'm a heel runner and the support that they have is AMAZING! And they don't wear down like others that I've tried. Also try googling (because I can't remember the site) a site that you can input how you run and it suggests the shoes for you. That's what I used when I started…
  • I have a 2007 Jetta that is a 5 speed and my Fiance has his 2001 BMW that is also a 5 speed! That's how we roll!
  • That is awesome!!!
  • That is awesome!!! HAPPY 100!!!
  • I have a Polar FT4 myself and I was thinking of getting one for my friend to start using! She will only get it if her soon to be husband can use also... has anyone gone through changing the settings and if so how much of a pain is it?
  • I love my Ripped in 30 Jillian Michaels DVD... Has done wonders for me and it's always my go to, I also enjoy running and would do it every single day if I could but if I have to wait to workout until after my daughter is in bed I'll break that out and it only takes about 30 minutes and it WORKS!!! She will kick your butt!
  • Bump for later for sure! I'm definitely not as committed as you are ( I run about 4 days a week and maybe 12-15 miles a week ) and I'm looking to start my Jillian Videos again but was curious how often everyone else does it. Been a rough past week trying to stay on track and would really like some help!
  • When it comes to just searching and not scanning the package i usually go with the highest calorie count or the middle ground... Use your best judgement and the savior for me was buying a digital food scale... so easy to put a bowl on there, zero it out, add your food and you know exactly!!! For example, today i brought…
  • I have been going through the same thing. I have lost 41 pounds and still look in the mirror and see the "mom pouch" of skin on the front or the boobs that lost 2 cup sizes from running and having my daughter. I try to remember when I see the mom pouch that there are women out there that would kill to have a baby and even…
  • This is awesome, I am going to check back in here later as I am trying to get to my maintenance level now and finding it a hard reality to up my calories!
  • I think it all depends on the person... there are days when I eat back my calories and there are days that I don't. If I do eat them back I make sure that they are worth while calories. Some days I'm just not physically hungry and can't force myself to eat back my calories. P.S. Love the HRM!!! I have the same one!
  • I have also heard to keep the watch itself and the band farther away from each other (not stored in the same drawer, box, etc...) to save the battery! Don't know if that's true or not, I have had mine for a couple months now and the battery is still kicking! :)
  • I also have the Polar FT4 and I LOVE IT! The only thing that I would've liked it to have is GPS to tell me my distance. I carry my phone on me when I run though (to listen to music) so I downloaded RunKeeper to keep track of distance for me! Hope that helps!
  • Oh and also I pack my lunch every day and log it before i even leave for work, some days the night before. I have found if i eat and then log i over eat... ALWAYS LOG FIRST!!! that has seemed to help a lot. And snacks, once you buy them divide them into portions in sandwhich bags (chips, wheat thins, dry cereal, ANYTHING)…
  • I also LOVE grapes. They are so easy to pop off the vine and throw in a tupperware container and go... They are only 50 calories for a whole cup! Tell me if I'm wrong but if you think about it, it's not the chips that you crave really it's just become the habit of doing it... so go with the habit and change the item... if…
  • I haven't seen any bad reviews for the Taylor brand. I got their food scale and love it! I was going to get a scale from Taylor but didn't have any within reach to me. Good brand!
  • Since you have just started I suggest that you measure yourself also. If you are working out in any way you may be building muscle in place of the fat! Give it a little while and let your body get used to the new routine, it could be freaking out thinking it needs to hold on to everything. :) Feel free to add me I could…
  • last week i weighed in at 141.5 and i was just curious so today i weighed myself and it said 143.5... Are you getting to your maintanence weight? i believe in my experience is that i am at the weight that my body is comfortable at and now i'm just losing fat and staying at this weight. My ultimate goal is 140 so it's a…
  • Thanks guys keep 'em comin' please!
  • Ok so Wednesday I also ate TERRIBLY and had a pretty bad evening today too! You are not alone at all, we all have those times that we know we're making the wrong choice but if you decide to do it then you have to live with it, enjoy it, and get back on track tomorrow! I feel terrible and depressed and guilty but when I…
  • If you can get them to help you out have them keep the packaging so you can see the nutrition facts, stay within the serving sizes, if you can buy your own healthy alternatives go for it... I live with my boyfriend and our daughter and there are some nights that i can't eat the same thing their eating, i opt for a salad…
  • Not in a mean way at all but you aren't going to quit unless YOU are ready. I tried to quit multiple times and until I was ready I didn't do it. You will not gain weight because you quit smoking, you will gain weight if you eat to replace the urge for a cigarette! Celery is a great munchy with hardly no calories, and the…
  • I do not want to brag by any means but I quit smoking, drinking pop, and started working out on the same day! One day I got on the scale and it said 179lbs. (the heaviest I have been except when I was pregnant) and I had to change! I was a pack a day smoker, at least 2 bottles of pop a day, and eating about 2,500 calories…
  • I have added exercises before but i'm having trouble finding a heart rate monitor that continually takes readings instead of having to stop and putting my finger on it or something... any suggestions? i can't spend an arm and a leg either... :)
  • How did everyone log their calories for Insanity? Please message me and help!!! I'm starting on Monday and I'm a little overwhelmed! :) Thanks guys!
  • I use RunKeeper also and it has worked awesome for me! It is almost right on what my cars odometer reads... within .01 miles actually! I have had only had it do what it did to you one time... i suggest getting a holder for your phone, which you can get at wal-mart back in sporting goods for about $10... Good Luck!
