Cooking with fresh natural (unprossesed ingredients is the ideal. However, healthy eating is a continuum. Eating processed frozen meals that are low in calories, and hit your macros is certainly better than fast food. I would recommend picking up a few of these to fill in the gaps as you learn to cook for yourself. Meals…

IF you do feel a need to respond I would recommend doing it in person or at least on a phone call. Tone is so often misread, and things have a tendency to escalate much quicker when texting, emailing,. face-booking ....

I use 5fingers for short runs, weight lifting, and just everyday wear. Still prefer a shoe with more cushioning for my long runs.

I haven't tried them, but I have been eyeing them New balance mimimist, makes a trail shoe. It has some cushioning, but is still considered a minimalist shoe

You really need to eat veggies to be healthy. You don't like them because you don't eat them. Make a commitment to consume them with every meal. The fresher. and less cooked , the better they taste. With in a few months you will like veggies. what you like / don't like is far more a factor of your eating habits, than some…

IMHO muscle soreness is not an indicator of a problem. You may be running slightly differently, and it may be unrelated. In either case it will go away with a few runs. Any joint discomfort that you didn't have with your old shoes is an indicator of problems.

Yes you should but mainly because silk unsweetened vanilla almond milk is so yummy on cereal. I add 1/4 scoop vanilla protein powder, it is better macros than dairy milk (less sugars, more protein)

The one exception to building muscle on a deficit is those with a high body fat% that are new to lifting. In this case it is possible to build muscle on a deficit. You should also lift to preserve as much lean body mass as possible when losing weight. ETA here is a thread discussing this in detail…

Just FYI there is not good science showing that sodium is bad. There is a link in SOME individuals with hypertension. Even in these individuals limiting sodium only lowers BP by 5-10%. Here are a couple of articles discussing it http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=its-time-to-end-the-war-on-salt…

I put in kale, mustard greens, spinach I can taste it but I like it. I don't think I would do that with peanut butter. You may also want to consider one of the garden of life perfect food (green) powders, and super seed They are great additions to a healthy shake and much easier than gathering all the ingredients yourself

yes cotton socks do not manage moisture well, and moisture is one of the biggest causes of blisters. They tend to get at least a little wet, then bunch with a tiny wrinkle, then rub a hotspot. Amazon or any running store sells running socks they usually have a "wicking" fabric, and extra cushioning in critical areas. They…

Are you measuring your food to be sure that you are really eating the portion sizes you think you are. If cooking at home are you adding oils, sugars, or sauces these can have a surprising amount of calories and the service sizes are small Coffee creamer, butter ... are also often culprits that are not tracked. About 90% of the human growth hormone is released during REM sleep. I believe most of it is during the first hour of deep sleep. Testosterone levels are peaked at (I believe) 7 hours of quality sleep. Both of these are critical to muscle growth and recovery. Simply laying there will not have the same effect. Studies have…
