  • When I was at my heaviest I got married. I thought I would never be in a serious relationship with someone because i was so heavy. So when I found someone that I thought loved me for me no matter my size I got married. Two years into the marriage I lost almost 150 lbs and looked and felt great. I looked at my husband and…
  • I knew I was hooked when I got pissed at Chili's because their balsalmic vinegarette could not possibly have that many calories!! The waitress was in disbelief too, until I showed her my handy dandy myfitnesspal app! My hubby is just thrilled when I pull it out in restaurants before we order!!
  • Just sprinkle some sensa all over it and go to town :)~
  • I actually typed it into MFP the other day just to see of someone had added it...lol. I wanted to see what MFP would put the calorie burn at. And then of course there is the whole issue of time. Cause as we know, each person is different.
  • Bumpity Bump for inspiration needed at a later time!!
  • Well, I bought a HRM a few weeks ago. I was checking my HR intermittantly with the elliptical so I felt like it was pretty accurate. however, when I would log my calories burned on MFP I would get the "wow, that's alot of calories" and "goodness, are you sure that's right?" from my friends. So, I decided to see how…
  • Study was just published on this..see yahoo news
  • More than likely it is water weight..but no worries. I read a study that was just published where people that lose weight faster are more likely to keep it off while eating at a maintenance level. Read it after hearing a MD talk about it on the morning show..So you're doing great either way..If it continues though you may…
  • Getting out the popcorn..kicking up my feet for the show
  • You're my hero today!!
  • So I'm just getting into the groove on the treadmill and a really nice older lady gets onto the treadmill beside me. Just as she kicks her treadmill into high gear I'm confronted by the overpowering smell of her very sweet perfume!!! I mean it gave me a instant headache it was so strong. People drive me crazy!! I know that…
  • Plain and simple...had the surgery, lost the weight through diet and exercise, and then gain 100 lbs back..Why? Because I didn't use the tool that was given to me. Not long term. Fitness was my priority for the 1st few years and then my priorites changed and I ate myself fat again..If you know you can't lose the weight…
  • All sounds like great advice!! Thanks everyone!!
  • OK....I'M A NURSE TOO AND ME AND ALL MY ICU COWORKERS THINK THIS IS FREAKIN HILARIOUS!! GLAD YOU ARE FEELING BETTER..
  • I work the same as you as a night RN. I find that I get a better workout if I do it before work after I've slept. I have more energy when i first wake up so I burn more and don't wear out as easily. If I get there at 4:30 I can get in at least an hour of cardio. Good luck to you..
  • The Fray- How to Save a Life
  • This is my 2nd time losing this same 100lbs..For me the best way is to start out with Cardio - treadmill or elliptical. Then add weights after a few weeks..Good luck!!
  • I'm also a night RN. I log mine from midnight to midnight. I eat my supper around 11 pm. and then anything after that is logged on the next day. Thats just the easiest way for me to do it.
  • As a fellow night nurse I know what you're going through. I weighed 170 lbs 5 years ago when I graduated nursing school. After 5 years in this field I weigh 275. I'm changing my habits and working out 4 times a week whether I'm off or not. Not snacking at work has made a big difference. I eat lunch around 11 pm and then…
  • I TOO FIND THAT THE 12 TO 12 IS THE BEST WAY TO TRACK MY CALORIES. I KNOW YOU CAN ACTUALLY CHANGE THE NAME OF YOURS MEALS FROM BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND DINNER UNER THE SETTINGS TO WHATEVER YOU WISH. IT MAY MAKE IT EASIER TO DO THE TIME FRAMES AS SOMEONE ELSE SUGGESTED. GOOD LUCK
  • I log everything, that way I don't have to worry about it. I also like to keep up with my Vitamin intake. For example, I'm not eating enough potassium and realized that's probably why I have been having leg cramps! So it can have it upsides to log everything.
  • When I told my mother that I was ready to start eating healthy and excercising routinely again she told me that she noticed that I was gaining weight. Then proceeds to say that she was disappointed because she knew how hard I had worked to get the weight off, which I had..Well, I was pissed!! Because she said the first…
  • Pickle Juice is a fix for cramps..but its a temporary one. It works by moving Potassium and Sodium across the cell wall. The only problem is when you do this you delete your extracellular supply of Potassium that needs to be replenished by either taking Potassium or eating it in your diet..
  • 7 years ago I weighed 320 lbs. I got off the couch, changed my diet and started working out like a crazy person. One year later I weighed 176lbs and looked and felt great. Then I fell in love and started to go out more on the weekends and miss workouts. Immediately I started putting on weight. 6 months later I had gained…
  • Muscle cramps are usually caused by 2 things in a healthy adult. Dehydration and not enough potassium in your diet. Both are easy fixes. Increase your water intake, especially when working out and take a daily multivitamin. Good luck!!
