Thank you!

Good luck! I'm on Day 2 of T25 and some of the moves are a little tricky. I had been exercising somewhat regularly for the 6 weeks before beginning this, and it's still kicking my butt! Question, what do you all use for logging your exercise minutes? I have been using "Kickboxing (including TurboJam)" and I can't really…

Most people have a reason they binge eat, other than simple lack of willpower. Is there something in your life that is stressing you out, making you feel sad, etc (other than the weight issue) that maybe you haven't dealt with emotionally? If that is the case, maybe that is what is holding you back right now. I find I'm a…

I LOVE fresh bread, but it can definitely add in calories very quickly. If you like egg breakfast sandwiches, try making them with a whole wheat English muffin instead. Or make it an "open faced" sandwich and use only one piece of your bread. I rarely use mayo either. Thankfully, I never really liked it, so it's easy for…

I understand & that stinks. Just the other day my husband told me not to try to workout so much when I'm already really busy with work & studying for a licensing exam. He said I was setting myself up for failure by doing too much at once. I know he wasn't trying to be mean or unsupportive, it's just hard for other people…

A lifestyle change for you, is also a lifestyle change for your husband. Even if he's not the one working out. :) He apparently does not yet understand your dedication to this & how important it is for you. He SHOULD be 100% supportive, but he probably does not see how missing this one day will be that big of a deal. To…

Sounds like running could be a little risky for your knees. Cycling is great, just do a little research on how to get good calorie burn. Depending on what kind of bike you have, the way you use the gears will make a big difference on your cardio workout while allowing you to ride longer & not completely wearing out your…

Aside from conventional salads/sandwiches, (I really don't like cold cuts either, and so I try to avoid them since they're not very healthy either!) these are my go-to lunches lately: Veggie sandwich, I just made this up - it is just baby spinach & cucumber slices piled onto whole grain bread, spread with one laughing cow…

Plain Greek Yogurt is not bad - it has less than half the sugar of most of the flavored varieties. I buy the flavored varieties lately for sake of ease, but after reading this and taking a second look, I may go back to regular. I just add some fresh/frozen blueberries or other fruit (no additional sweetener) and sometimes…

There are so many topics on here that I want to respond to, but I will just say that DAMN, you are all making me thirsty.... talking about cherry vodka & diet coke, vodka tonics, microbrews, even light beer sounds delicious right about now. Friday afternoons are work are the worst... they absolutely drag!! I stayed up too…

Changing seasons makes me want to drink! Spring is in the air and several of us just wanted to get out last night for no reason. I watched what I ate throughout the day and did a great Turbo Jam workout, so I had the calories to spare, at least... the thing that pushed me over where I wanted to be, was a friend buying a…

Funny, because whenever we lose, it makes us want to drink even more than if we win. :)

I am missing Microbrews as well. I started getting hooked on them about a couple of years ago, then when I met my boyfriend, that is all he drank. So it became our "thing" to try new microbrews, or grab a growler to take home & enjoy - then I saw my tummy growing and growing... I finally had to limit myself to one if we go…

My friends love Jagger Bombs!! I rarely go to bars late anymore, so shot type nights are pretty limited, but when we celebrate, this usually what people order. I don't remember the calorie count, but I know Jagger is terrible. I don't even wanna know at this point!! hahaha

I love, love, LOVE Sweet Tea Vodka! It has been one of my fave summer drinks since discovery 2 years ago. I am excited to look for this version of it to try out, so thanks for posting it! :)

This is one of the things I love about MFP, and this thread. :) You can always come back and start fresh. It is not a "program" where you are screwed if you mess up a week here or there, it is a lifestyle... and it's OK if you have bad weeks, as long as you get get back at it. A lot of people write about how they go over…

Way to get back on the wagon!! When I started working out again with weights, about 6 weeks ago, I wanted to start with 5-7 lb hand weights. My boyfriend basically called me a wimp and insisted I at least try 10 lb weights. I can't use them for my weightlifting DVD (which they don't recommend anyhow), because it gets to be…

I wish it were easier to get more of my friends to do stuff at people's houses. Almost all of own our homes, or rent something decent, but still people are more likely to want to go out. I know it is because many of them are still single, so they have the desire to get "out" in hopes of seeing some new faces. We usually…

Amy - glad you guys didn't get shut down! I am a state employee, and we have been going through the same ordeal at budget time for the last several years. It is frustrating!!! I agree that if you don't like something, you should not force yourself. I have never been able to get into either. A 5k here or there, or my…

Chris - Supper clubs and fish fries!! I grew up with that stuff (in the Upper Peninsula of Michingan/northern Wisconsin), so I hear ya! Last time I visited my parents, everyone drank too much beer and I had to volunteer to be DD. That is probably thanks to MFP, because I was sort of trying to be good, but still wanted SOME…

Good article! I love Cooking Light. My goal this year has been to eat more "whole" foods. It's still a struggle, especially when you look at a piece of "light" bread (i.e. processed) that has 35 calories, versus a nice piece of Whole Grain Bread with over 100 calories... I try to balance more and cut out the processed…

Robin - sorry you are feeling stuck! My progress has been very slow, because I have bad weeks. I don't know exactly why some weeks you can eat crappy and still lose (or remain the same) and the weeks you work hard it doesn't seem to do anything. The weeks I have seen most success, I indulge in a few meals & some drinks,…

Right! No sense in feeling guilty about it. Guilt adds to stress and stress impedes weight loss!! We only have one life, so we should take care of ourselves... but who says we can't have some fun, too! :)

Tomatoes! Have hated them for years, mainly that gooey texture from the insides. When I chop them up for salads, I used to always cut out as much of the center as I could and I would NEVER eat them on a sandwich or burger. Lately though, I want them on everything!! Looking forward to warmer weather and great availability…

I love this thread! I'm totally jumping on here. I drank a ton in college, it was pretty much all we did to socialize, as it was a small school in the middle of nowhere. I also come from a family of social drinkers, where every event includes wine, beer, trying out the latest cocktail... Now that their kids are out of the…

Awesome!! I totally agree that it's possible for this to happen and it's not the scale messing with you. :) Calorie cycling does seem a good way to go. I don't intentionally cycle my calories, but I do eat more when I work out and I have fun weekends where I will splurge like you did & eat/drink quite a bit. It has slowed…

I don't have any old DVDs, but I did recently shop on Amazon for a specific workout. If you buy from their used DVD selections you can get some great deals.

I agree that there is definite value in building up your cardio capacity with longer workouts. That being said, I hear so often that intervals are really the way to go for fat loss. Excerpt from an ariticle on Self.com: Grunt, groan and sweat Those Neanderthal noises you hear from the guy one treadmill over? They signal…

Not sure if you would do this at the gym or not, but I kind of like this one from Self.com: http://www.self.com/fitness/workouts/2010/12/get-slim-without-the-gym-slideshow#slide=5 Do you already use Stability balls/medicine balls/BOSU/ to add variety (if your gym has these available)?

I am the same way, I have just been trying harder to be good when I can!! As much as I hate cooking dinner on Friday & Saturday nights, lately I have committed to cooking AT LEAST one of the nights rather than dining out or ordering pizza. It seems to be helping... even if I still go out for drinks with friends, at least I…
