Sunday 4 beers
Monday 0
I'm really really really going to try and not have any drinks until thursday....really really! :indifferent:0 -
I lost a whooping 0.2 lbs this week  WHATEVER:explode:
The only day I work is Thursday this week. I definitely think if I worked full-time, I'd be a bit better about the indulging. Too much free time can lead one astray. I have to figure out if my drinking night is tonight or tomorrow.
I'm leaning towards this evening as I am so very tired today. I don't even know if I have it in me to workout today. I had the WORST weekend at work with heavy, total care patients. Code Brown after Code Brown. I never sat down for a moment.
Monday,
Tuesday,
Wednesday, nada
Thursday, nada (working 7A to 7P)
Friday, bottle of skinny margaritas, 5 drinks (I think I will water them down with perrier water and a twist)
Saturday, nada
Sunday, nada (weigh-in on Monday)
Goal: <12 to 140 -
I'm going to have some wine I think. Although that may turn into vodka later in the day, depending on how things go with the MIL. :drinker:
I understand about the MIL. I try not to drink when she's around, but I can't seem to make it very long. Sometimes just a phone call will send me running for my friend Ron.
I've been away from the thread for a while, but not away from the bottle. Maybe indulging a little too much, but I do that when I'm depressed. I'm working on coming out of the dark place and trying to find the light again. Actually, I'm just forcing myself to get out of bed everyday and do what I have to do. I'll just keep faking it till I make it! So glad to find this month's thread. I thought I had lost you all forever!0 -
I haven't been here in a while. I found out this last weekend that summer on the bikes...and at the boat...are going to be a real challenge. So far we have just gotten the boat ready to go in the water next weekend. Just being at the marina, working, was too much like a party...lol! I sipped on Kid Rock's Badass American lager...2 of them....and Michelob Ultra....a couple. I have no idea what Badass is as far as calories and can't find the info anywhere. I even wrote to the CEO of the company and got no response. I also had some vodka and diet Code Red. And, of course, when I drink I forget to eat light. Looks like I am going to have to learn to plan ahead and keep plenty of veggies and fresh fruits on hand to allow calories for my beverages! I'm also going to try to get in the habit of, when I'm partying, having one drink and then a water...alternate. But my biggest plan is.....to PLAN, PLAN, PLAN.....and be prepared!0

Oh. My. Goodness.
Where has this thread been all my (weight-loss) life?! I came across it and if felt like walking into my favorite dive bar - I felt "home."
I'm super excited to join you all, alcohol is one of my biggest vices - in the weight-loss world and in general life. Seems like you all will be a great inspiration to keep my intake in check. Thinking I'll just follow along a bit this week, track my drinks and maybe set some goals next week.0 -
I must be part of this thread since I'm like many of you! I try to keep it to a weekend of drinks, but now the nicer weather is here and when I'm working outside, it's hard to not want a nice cold beer when taking a break!0
-
Amy, if you don't like it, there *is* no point, because you won't push yourself and won't get stronger/better/faster. Find something you enjoy!
I second the motion!
It is super important to like what you do as a workout. Like most things in life "if you hate it you will not full achieve in it".
I am going to try cross-fit on Monday! Also, I may be furloughed since I am a federal employee, we'll see if they can agree on a budget by midnight. But if we are, I will have time to try all kinds of things!
Amy - glad you guys didn't get shut down! I am a state employee, and we have been going through the same ordeal at budget time for the last several years. It is frustrating!!!
I agree that if you don't like something, you should not force yourself. I have never been able to get into either. A 5k here or there, or my favorite: Pub Runs!! Charity+Exercise+Beer, now that is what I am talkin' about! Anyway, what is cross-fit? Haven't heard of that referred to before?0 -
Had a HORRIBLE beer filled weekend. Now I'm regretting it. I hope I don't tip the scale when I weigh in on Wednesday :sad:0
-
Don't worry! Today is a new day and get yourself going again.0

It's actually one of my boyfriends bestfriends birthday today and he's going out to Hartford to the bars. Nothing wrong with it but my boyfriend and I are younger than him and don't even like the bars anymore. I asked my boyfriend if he wanted to meet up with people after dinner but he'd rather come home and veg on the couch haha. The cruise however will be another story :drinker:
I am so over going out to bars...much rather get my drink on at home. Like you, vacation is a much differnet story! We're gonna tear Vegas up next month
My boyfriend is 26, I'm 25. Two of his bestfriends are almost 30 and still live at home, they haven't grown up at all. They never understand why we don't like going out anymore. Well, it's because we have a nice house and like to sit back and enjoy it, instead of pushing our way through loud drunk idiots. Now when we go on our yearly cruise, that's a different story. Kyle doesn't have to drive so he lets loose, doesn't have to think about work and can really unwind. He'll still act like an old man some nights but he gets over it as soon as we are walking around the ship with drinks in hand
I wish it were easier to get more of my friends to do stuff at people's houses. Almost all of own our homes, or rent something decent, but still people are more likely to want to go out. I know it is because many of them are still single, so they have the desire to get "out" in hopes of seeing some new faces. We usually get a good turnout when we DO have parties, but it's not often enough, because like Said, people are always planning to go "out". And like you, I am actually the youngest of most of my friends (31) and my boyfriend is 30. Summertime will be fun this year though. I got a little fire bowl for Christmas, so I plan to invite people over on the cooler nights, and we're building a patio so I am excited for people to see my yard!
As for my lush-y weekend, I definitely drank more than I probably should have (and ate junk). Also caved on Thursday night and drank two beers even though planned on ZERO. My mistake was that I was going to make this awesome Turkey Sausage Lentil soup, which calls for either beer or chicken broth. I prefer the extra flavor of beer, so I bought that... then it was just sitting in the fridge taunting me and I knew I didn't need ALL of it for my soup... Friday I had an exam for work where I was up at 5 a.m. and didn't get home until 7:30 p.m., went to the bar and friends bought me drinks. I was so exhausted I did not stay out late, thankfully, but I ate crappy bar food and drank high calorie drinks!! Saturday went out for dinner & drinks, but I was DD so I was pretty good and only had 3 over a 4 hour span. Sunday was beautiful out, so had a beer while working outside in the yard... then boyfriend convinced me we should go out with friends to sit on a deck somewhere for dinner & beers. Darn it! We made a pact though we would drink one day MAX during the week this week. It is definitely going to be more difficult during the summer, especially once I start volleyball and softball!!!
Anyhow last week tallies up to:
Mon - 2.5 glasses wine
Tues - 0
Wed - 0
Thurs - 2 Miller Lite
Fri - 2 Grape Bombs, 1 Slippery Nipple (my friends choice of shots, haha) and 4(?) Miller Lites
Sat - 2 Capt & Coke, 1 Summer Shandy
Sun - 3 Miller Lite, 1 Ace Pear Cider
Total: 17.5 Yikes!! I think I might make a weekly total goal like some of you have done. Do you feel it works?0 -
I would first like to say that I love this thread. Secondly, I made a wonderfully boozy discovery while at my local ABC store (for those of you that live in normal places where you can go to the grocery for liquor, this is where many of us in the south have to go buy the hard stuff...and no, it's not open on Sunday). Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka comes in a "Skinny Tea" version that is sweetened with Truvia. Delicious with Crystal Light Pink Lemonade for a summery, refreshing, guilt free, drinky-poo. Bottoms up!0

I didn't realize how long it had been since I was last on this thread.......I had to get the link from March today! How time flys when yer having fun! :drinker: Anyway, been steady here with the wgt staying off, and actually dropped a couple of lbs. Now the drinking part....well, still up to my usual beer quantities. I just really watch what I eat, more veggies, shrimp, fish, beans, less calories so I can DRINK BEER!!!! :drinker:  :drinker:
Glad to see the gang is doing okay......I'll try to get back to posting. I've had to get a house ready (mom's) for a buyer. It should close within the week. One thing I learned (and highly suspected).......that I am soooo outta shape!! A little painting and scrubbing for a couple of days and I am so sore! Which leads me to  ......new goal of working out at least for 15 minutes a day with weights, and I don't mean the 2 lb. light weights. Start tomorrow. Not today, I'm about ready to drink beer and hot tub it!!!
Hope all had a good weekend and cheers to a great week ahead!! :drinker:
Way to get back on the wagon!! When I started working out again with weights, about 6 weeks ago, I wanted to start with 5-7 lb hand weights. My boyfriend basically called me a wimp and insisted I at least try 10 lb weights. I can't use them for my weightlifting DVD (which they don't recommend anyhow), because it gets to be way too much after the first ten minutes. So I stick with the "baby weights" for that, but using my ten-pounders for a separate arm & chest routine I have created, which takes about 20 minutes... and I am seeing results FAST in my upper body. It is painful at first and you don't wanna hurt yourself, but one of the things I seem to read a lot is that women, unlike men, go too light on the weights and don't see desired results!! So go for it!! Good luck!!0 -
I tried to keep up with y'all this weekend but it is really difficult from the phone, you chatty Cathy's!
I ended up not catching whatever the baby had so I drank 2 glasses on Friday. And waaaaay to much on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday I drove through the daquri hut, so that was WAY too many calories on top of my wine. *smackhead*
Boyfriend and I stayed up late finishing off the wine soooo, I am tired and sluggish today. :frown:
Soooo, here I go on Monday and hope that I can make it drink free for week three!!! :drinker:0 -
This is the kind of support I need. I was doing so well and was so close to my 95lb weight loss goal...and suddenly I got lazy and have gained close to 10 lbs back!!!! I was just saying that I need to get back on the wagon and NOW, but what do I do? I eat Papa Johns pizza for supper and buy the ingredients to make myself a big ole vodka collins (which was really good btw). I try to limit my drinking to Sunday dinners with the family and the occasional drink at home, but it's not always so easy. I am a big wine drinker as well. Help me get back on the wagon and loose these last 20 lbs (I WAS 11lbs away:'( )
This is one of the things I love about MFP, and this thread. You can always come back and start fresh. It is not a "program" where you are screwed if you mess up a week here or there, it is a lifestyle... and it's OK if you have bad weeks, as long as you get get back at it. A lot of people write about how they go over their calories, then realize all they need to do exercise a little more that day to make up for it, instead of just saying "Oh well, guess I will gain some weight". A lot of people have days where they say "screw it", but there is so much support and see people's success stories makes you want to keep trying instead of giving up!0 -

Exactly. Women are afraid of "bulking" and unless it's in your genetics or you're spending hours at the gym and taking supplements, our bodies aren't meant to bulk.
I am starting another round of P90X and will be starting with curling my 17.5 but I'm thinking I'll be upping that after the first exercise. I just had a week in between rounds so it was just cardio. I miss my weights and pull up bar haha.
Had a lot of wine this weekend. Not drinking this week until Friday or maybe I'll wait until date night on Saturday. We'll see!0 -
yesterday I bought a growler of my favorite microbrew. I can't wait to make love to it this week. I'm going to try to limit myself to one glass/night. I'll even account for it in my calories.
mmm...microbrew0 -

What I would not give for a growler of Rowlands IPA or pumpkin.....:sad:0 -
Today is day 1 of the week long detox and I am already craving some booze. Darn Mondays!
My better half works 2nd shift till 10-11 so she does not have the idle hands that I do working first shift. haha
I will have to workout just to keep from getting caught up in a hardcore session of "12 oz. curls".0 -
Well I completely fell off the wagon this weekend. Sunday I was stressed because I had to work from midnight until Sunday morning 10AM . I couldn't get to sleep so I made mimosas. I like the little Korbel Split bottles 4 in a pack to help control intake but the problem is I drank all 4 bottles and went to the store and got another 4 and drank that!!
Woke up this morning with a slight hangover!!0 -
All this talk of beer makes me think I'll be getting some Blue Moon for this weekend. Can't wait for Sam Summer and Coastal Wheat =]0
-
I just realized I never made a goal for this week. I did terribly last week. Oh well...start again.

Saturday I am meeting a bunch of people I graduated college with in Lexington at the horse track. It will be an all day drinking adventure with old friends so I am being realistic. :drinker: So that puts me under 20....0 -

So I still have a job, yah!
Weekend was lushy and think the week will be too!
Friday-half a bottle of Malbec at dinner with DH at Shazz, then joined friends at tavern for 3 bud lights.
Saturday-"cousins party" where I drank many beers-maybe 8(?) and made a marg with tequila, lemonade and sprite.
Sunday- one amstel light. MFP says that is 95 cals, I think it tastes better than most light beers, I don't know why I drank it though, I was really close to goal cals since I went snow-shoeing and burned 800 calories.
Monday-planning on two bud lights at Billy's tonight, they are $2
Tuesday-wine and beer and Weeds watching
Wednesday-margs with mexican food dinner.0 -
Wow. I feel at home here. I weighed myself this morning to see how much damage i'd done over the weekend (2 nights of indulging). It was bad!!
Glad to see there are other people out there like me!!!0 -

i've always been a wine girl, but living here (northern CA) has swayed me to the dark side ... temptation is everywhere! and yes, it's so worth it ...
well, last week was quite extravagant, so i'm happy for a fresh monday ... (who woulda' thought, happy for a monday ?!?)
adjusting my goal just a bit so it's something that i can reach with a bit of discipline, but still less than if i wasn't paying attention at all.
goal : under 18 for the week0 -
Sunday=2
Monday=0
I think I've eaten my weight in food today...it was the first time since Friday morning that I didn't feel like hurling every 20 minutes so I reveled in the ability to eat. :laugh:0 -
Try this: Vodka and Fuze Pomegranit Acai. It's delish.0

Today is my sixth day no booze, holy crap LOL   :grumble:0 -
I had a seriously wine filled weekend and I didn't make it thru yesterday either. I had a job interview with a recruiter and we met at famous Dave's BBQ to chat. After that since DH was in the car waiting for me (we carpool) he came into the bar and we each had a Famous Dave's Ice Tea (Long Island Iced Tea) then proceded to order dinner to go so I went way over on calories yesterday. I didn't have anything to drink when we got home so I will count that as a victory. Today I will be good and workout too!0

Nothing to drink last night. Shooting for nothing tonight as well. Haven't been to the gym in almost a week b/c of all the moving. But I figure I'm at least doing something...unpacking boxes, cleaning, etc.
