It DID work for me, though. When I first lost a bunch of weight and was only doing cardio and light weights, my boobs were sagging a lot. Now that I'm lifting heavier and focusing on my chest, I've got QUITE a lift. I'm not lying -- I don't know what I would gain from that. Surgery is NOT the only option. I think that it's…

I guess because it's tough to just eat one slice of pizza. I make homemade pizza with a whole-grain crust and tons of veggies. I get two big slices and eat a salad with it, and it's not bad. Even if we order pizza, I try to stick with one or two slices and just add a salad. It's not bad, it's just hard to stick with just…

I never ever dieted or tried to lose weight. What was fortunate was that I was always at least a little bit active. But I bought a bike to commute to and from school when I moved a few miles away from campus, and one day I was riding my bike and I heard a guy on the street say to his friend, "Fat chick on a bike." or…

THIS is what I'm going through!! It's so confusing!

I know you said that you have a strong chest and you don't think that will help, but I really really see a difference when I amp up my chest exercises. I just focus on that area more often. Instead of doing a "Chest and Back" day, I do chest alone on one day. Are you lifting heavy enough? I've lost almost 70 lbs, and my…

Once you've been doing strength training for a while, you don't get as sore. It's tough at first because the soreness you feel is tiny tears in your muscle, but that means it's working! Every time you tear that muscle a little bit, it builds back and that's how you build muscle. Just keep telling yourself, "No pain, no…

What's YOUR beef? You're the one suggesting that people don't look as good as you do at the gym (hence the title of your thread). I don't care what anyone else looks like at the gym. I look about the same as I do in life when I go to the gym. I have a lot of black capris and grey t's and tanks. They are all fitted and and…

A little off topic, but I've just recently discovered white balsamic vinegar -- I sprinkle it on my salad and then sprinkle some fresh herbs on -- it's the BEST salad dressing ever, and almost NO calories added to your salad. I know it's off topic, but it's my new favorite thing ever.

It is NOT the end of the world! Remember, you're building in a deficit here and you're not going to gain 1 lb because you went over by 430 calories. Please don't stress yourself out, because these types of things are the reasons people get obsessive. A lot of people might say, "Well, I've already messed up today, might as…

"There is a difference between a 10 minute warm up (basically "get your body warm") and 45 minute run (85% max heart rate). Long cardio depletes your body of glycogen, which you need to lift heavy." Yeah, see, I do less cardio on weight training days. I'll do a 20 minute interval run then do weights for 20-30 minutes.

I hear that a lot --- that you should do weights, then cardio so you don't get worn out and sacrifice your form -- but I HATE doing it in that order. I don't feel like my form is sacrificed. I do my cardio, cool down a bit and then hit the weight room. I've never had any problems. I think it's mental, but I feel like after…

No, I don't, and I know I don't. I know that when I'm REALLY upset, a full-flavored Dr. Pepper and a bag of salt & vinegar chips will cheer me right up. I know that's unhealthy, so I try to cope with my feelings another way. But every once in a while I give in to that craving. It still makes me feel better. I just…

I've tried both, and there is no noticeable difference in how my weigh was effected. I find that eating 3 meals per day with a small afternoon snack works best for me. I've tried several small meals, and I find that I'm hungry all afternoon if I do that. I like to have a large lunch that keeps me nice and full well into…

I 100% support the Couch to 5k program. Google it, it has turned many a non-runner into a runner. But the concept is the same as everyone has mentioned. You start out walking with a bit of running thrown in, adding more running as you go. 99% of the complaints that people mention about running (getting short of breath too…

My legs! I've always had muscular legs, but running has made them so muscular and toned. I wish the rest of my body would follow suit, hahah :)

I feel like I'm just coming here to brag, but my boyfriend is really supportive. If I gain a few pounds, he always says, "Well, I sure can't tell!" If I lose a few pounds he is really congratulatory and supportive. He has even started expressing interest in eating healthier and working out.

I agree! Buying something awesome in a size you WANT to be is amazing motivation. My "goal" jeans from a few years ago are now loose on me (but I still love them!)

When I say "at home WOD's" I really mean "on your own w/out a Crossfit gym WOD's" -- would include strength training.

Yeah, if you want to be a morning person, you're going to have to go to bed a little earlier. I go to bed at 10 pm, and can't go much later. My body is conditioned to wake up super early now. On the weekends (ONLY Saturday, though), I will often take an afternoon nap so that I can stay up later. On Saturday and Sunday, I…

My coffeepot timer is set for 5:25, and my alarm is set for 5:35, every. single. day. Even if I take a day off, I still get up (I get so much done on non-gym days!!) and get moving. It was really hard at first, but now that I'm in the habit, it's just that.....a habit. I get out of bed, immediately put on my workout…

I like Crossfit style workouts, but I can in no way afford to belong to a crossfit gym. I go to Bootcamp classes at my local gym every other week, and they are very challenging. If you google "Crossfit workouts to do at home", there are a lot of good results. Crossfit is just out of my price range!

Nike Free Run! God, I love those shoes. It's like a second skin on my feet.

This sounds fun! Female Age: 34 Height: 5'3" SW: 217 CW: 148 GW: I don't know, 130ish? I'm looking at body fat percentage. I'm at about 27% now, looking to get down to 22% or so.

Just wait, they will. Keep going, and eventually you will not be able to do anything without getting comments.

You're eating too few calories. I know it's hard to wrap your head around this idea, I have trouble with it too, but it really is true. It's ok to NET 1200 calories a day, but if you're only taking in 1200 calories on top of working out every day, you're body is really going to hold on to as much fat as it can.

I don't know how people can eat less than 400 calories for breakfast. It has to be my biggest and most substantial meal of the day. I find if I don't eat a hearty breakfast with plenty of protein, I have trouble the whole day not being distracted and hungry. So I eat a big breakfast and then have smaller meals throughout…

You look great! I've lost 70 lbs too!

As long as you stay within your calorie range for the day, it doesn't matter when you eat them. Maybe not in the middle of the night, but that's just because it might be detrimental to your sleep.

Don't buy a cheapo HRM, it won't be worth it. I say Kettlebells. I disagree with the previous comment that it's a "waste of money" to buy weights and to just go to the gym. A lot of people can't afford the gym membership fees, and working out at home is better than nothing at all.

I work out at the gym and at home, just whichever is easiest to schedule into my day.
