I'm really excited too, hubby and I have already planned date night when it comes out lol. I really enjoyed First Class (and the other X-Men movies) so I'm expecting I'll be happy with it.

5'3", weight hovers around 140lbs. 5K - 27:04 Half Marathon - 2:01:33 I'm really hoping I can get my weight down and see some improvements in these times, I do think the extra weight slows me down a fair bit.

I was at a point a couple years ago where I couldn't bear anything over 5 miles. So I asked somebody to drop me off 6 miles from home. Once you're there you have no choice but to run back! I found that once I was actually going I was fine, after the first mile I was strong and it occurred to me, hey, I can do 5 just fine!…

This all the way! I'm a little competitive and I probably wouldn't like to be last but I'd still do it. I race to beat myself, not anybody else.

Congrats on getting into NY! I entered the lottery this year but didn't get a spot, so I signed up for the Disney Marathon in January instead. It gives me an extra couple months to train so no complaints there! My first marathon too, so I know how excited you must feel!

Aww man, I wish! I didn't realise there was one round here soon, where is it being held?
-
I'll give it a go, sorry for stealing numbers but they sound about right... 100 miles ran 100 minutes stretching 1000 pushups

Awesome thread idea! Yay for celebrating all victories! For the last couple years, I have walked up the (long, steep) hill at the end of my long runs as a cooldown. Recently I have started running it however tired I feel (I moved but the hill is similar). I know this has made me a lot stronger, and the hill gets easier and…

My guide says they're usually available 5-7 days after the event, though not all will be added at the same time.

Arwen. I'll take it.

Gandalf! But I'm a girl. It's been my screen name on many sites for about a decade.

Roughly how many reps is taking you to failure? Were you doing exercises before the strength training? What does your routine generally look like?

My scales say I'm 20% bf, I'm pretty sure I'm closer to 35%! Like others have said, ignore the number on your scale regarding bf%, it's most likely a long way out. Here are some pictures and information that you can use to compare yourself with and see what an unhealthy bf% looks like:…

05/03/14 - Stonyfield 5K (NH) - 27:04. This was my first official 5K, so I'm thrilled with the result. It's given me the racing bug now, must find more to register for!

Thanks for the response! I don't know anyone who has run any of them so it's good to find someone who has. I've only heard good things about the marathon weekend (apart from the costs, early start and walk to the starting corrals!) How long are the lines for the character photos on the course? I'm thinking of queuing for a…

Essential key in the tiny butt pocket of the running pants. No phone, I have a small mp3 player that I clip onto my waistband for music. GPS watch if I want to see my pace/distance.

Feel free to add me, same goes for any others! I start my first marathon training program in the Summer and would love to share motivation and support with other runners.

What are your goals with regards to this exercise? Any exercises that are worth doing are pretty much going to raise a sweat. But there are little ones you can do, whether or not they would help on their own I don't know. But you could do calf raises while standing; squats and lunges are always good for leg and core…

Congratulations on the PR! Sounds like you really enjoyed it!

My work out clothes don't outnumber regular, but I do have a large drawer dedicated to them. I need to buy some more though, since I upped my workouts I'm running the washing machine very frequently to cycle my outfits!

I haven't done any of the major races before, but I did sign up for the 2015 Disney Marathon. Yes it's ridiculously expensive, but I am seeing it as a lifetime experience so I'll pay it this once. It really depends what you're looking for in a race and if you're willing to pay the extra for this type of event.

I don't know enough to give feedback, but I'm curious, how long does this routine generally take you to complete?

I only keep the ones I like. My last half gave out white tech shirts that were far too see-through for my liking, I couldn't imagine ever wearing it in public so it went straight to the charity bin. I wish I had kept my bibs. My first one was from a Tough Mudder so it was wrecked by the end, and it didn't occur to me to…

Being nervous is normal, but you'll be fine! I ran my second Half at a good time for me, before my third I was ill and I didn't get in as much training as I wanted. But because I had all the extra mileage under my belt from the previous attempts and training (the same as you) and I had a much better understanding of when I…

I cried a little. Amazing. I love that he walked over the line himself too.

PR for me. I'm fairly competitive, but after my last half when I came in 1 minute after my brother-in-law (I expected to be a good 10 minutes behind him) it didn't phase me that I could have beaten him, I was too proud of my own result. It occurs to me that I don't care who I'm faster than, unless it's 'old me'.

As frustrating as it is, at least you are still losing! If your weight comes to a standstill for over three weeks, then it may be time to reassess your plan by adjusting your calorie intake and/or exercise. But you're not there yet! Accept that half a lb a week is a healthy loss and be proud not disappointed when you see…

The 'Interval' part of HIIT means you should do a spurt of high intensity followed by a short period of easier effort, and repeat this a number of times for the duration of the workout. The length of the high intensity and lower intensity periods will depend on your goals and fitness level. There are lots of examples of…

The hubby and I have pre-ordered it, and we've been messing around on the weekend Betas. It's fun, I know my hubby is very excited about it but I have yet to give my judgement. I'll probably level a couple characters to max but I'm not sure I'll go much further than that.

I just started using Hal Higdon too, I like the look of his plans and I hear great things about them. I did a Tough Mudder before my first Half, I did my running training without walk breaks because that's how I prefer it. I was only running 6-7 miles comfortably when I did the TM, and I managed the course, though I would…
