  • What do you need it for? A particular recipe?
  • I'm curious, how are your prescription running glasses different from your regular glasses?
  • Congrats! I'm signing up for my first marathon when registration opens next week, it's not until January but I'm trying to build a good base now and start my training plan in late Summer. I hope you're as excited as I am! Which one are you doing?
  • MP3 player for solo runs (pretty much all of them), a drink for anything over 8 miles. I should probably look into getting a RoadID, especially since I don't take my phone or anything else with me.
  • Oh my goodness, what a terrifying experience. thank goodness you're ok! I don't know what I would have done in that situation, but I doubt I would have come out without a scratch. Well done for keeping a cool head.
  • I'm feeling rather dumb... as someone not very up on music and who wants to update their own playlist, I very nearly tried typing these into Youtube >_<
  • Have you spoken to your doctor? I don't know anything about Crohn's disease or the surgery but your doctor might have some advice on reaching your goal in a safe and healthy way for you. This is the advice I would give to somebody with a simpler medical background: I think you should be ready to accept that the last 10lbs…
  • Did they give you pains when you got them? If not, it's possible you have just worn them out and it's time for a new pair. Shoes only have a certain mileage before you lose the support. I can't recommend any particular shoes, but I do strongly suggest going to a proper running store and getting fitted by someone who really…
  • Congratulations on getting in! Exciting! I nearly applied but chose another instead.
  • BE holy priest called Lerinna... my guy at the time wanted a pocket healer. I never was very good as a Priest. I made a Forsaken fire mage to play by myself, Urwen. I didn't like the depressing starter zone so my guy escorted me all the way to Mulgore at level 3 (long before flying). She was my first raider, and one of two…
  • Easter eggs have been my downfall for the last two years. The wonderfully cheap Cadbury eggs, I would tell myself just half a day, and the whole thing would be gone in an hour. Not to mention packs of Mini Eggs. This was the point I gave up on my journey, both times, for a number of months. This year? Since moving to the…
  • You shouldn't need to break in running shoes. It seems like you bought some that didn't give the right support for your foot shape and style of running. :( You might need to keep this pair limited to regular gym sessions rather than long runs.
  • Not an expert, but I would imagine you would slowly lower your BF% and lose inches. I'm not sure your weight would go down much but you'd look leaner.
  • I watched 'Run Fatboy Run' a couple weeks ago, that got me rather motivated, despite being a comedy lol
  • How did you find your BF%? I recently bought some bathroom scales that supposedly measure body fat (among other things). They tried to tell me I'm 21% but I'd put money on the fact that I'm 30-35%. I know they are not accurate. I've heard that apart from the really expensive professional ways to measure bf%, calipers give…
  • 60 - 90 minutes usually, mostly cardio. It can be as short as 45 minutes when I do strength but I usually try and add some cardio in too. But I do take my time sometimes... atm I have a lot of spare time, going to the gym helps fill that, and it's generally empty so I get the TV to myself while I workout too lol. If I push…
  • My year looks very empty: January 2015 - Disney World Marathon I want to try and find some 10K races throughout 2014, and maybe a HM to fit into my marathon training schedule. Like sjohnny I want to focus on the marathon, it'll be my first full too.
  • Frozen raspberries Chocolate milk (using the Nesquik powder) It's still 150 calories or so (I take mine weaker than most) but far better than a Snickers. When it's cold I go for low cal hot chocolate instead. Dark chocolate covered cranberries. Delicious but hard to keep portions small once the bag is open!
  • Yikes! Hope you were ok! Thankfully none of my stories are this bad, I've been lucky with drivers, I've found a lot more willing to wave me on than cause me issues. Especially considering I line in NH, land of considerate drivers... (lol)
  • Dear Mr Pick-up-Truck Driver, I am so very sorry that my run took me along a stretch of road with no sidewalk. Clearly this was a grave error that could have resulted in a serious accident, particularly on this wide, straight and extremely quiet road. Although I was running close enough to the edge that tree branches were…
  • In for the advice, since I find talking about it keeps my focus. I guess I mostly try and do most of my talking on here. Maybe starting a blog is a good idea? You can write about everything you want related to your fitness, and people only have to read it if they want to! (Edited for typos)
  • I'm mostly playing Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls, but dabbling in some Guild Wars 2 as well. Also maybe I shouldn't admit I'm playing Animal Crossing on my DS... lol
  • Thank you! You've come a long way already on your fitness goals, that's awesome! Seems like it won't be long until you're back to your Army self!
  • Totally agree! I have daily disposable contacts that I only ever wear for races and long runs. (Well, and roller coasters and the beach) I can't stand not being able to see while I'm running!
  • I've run most of mine alone. I like to have some friends or family to spectate, and see me at the beginning/end (and sometimes along the way) but it's nice to be able to run at MY pace. If you want to find someone along the way to chat to I'm sure you will, lots of runners are up for meeting people! (Though not all want to…
  • "You can't eat that cookie, you're on a diet!" Nope, I'm on a healthy lifestyle change. And I can eat the cookie, I factored it in.
  • Weight can fluctuate several lbs over the course of a day, usually because of water weight. It doesn't mean you put on 3lbs of fat (and it's very unlikely to did in 2 days). Try weighing yourself once a week, always at the same time of day (first thing in the morning is a good time)
  • I don't want to say much about the diet but the calories burned for the elliptical and bike seem pretty high. MFP often seriously overestimates the calories burned, you could try getting a hrm to see what you're more likely burning. It might also be worth setting your loss to 1 or 1.5lbs a week rather than 2. Sometimes…
  • Strong urine is usually a sign of dehydration. It is recommended that the average person drink at least 2 litres of water a day, PLUS more for working out.
