  • 1) What was your workout schedule? How many rest days? How many days to complete? How many workouts in a row? 1 a day. I didn't have scheduled rest days but had to take them when I'd been out at work all day (and evening) and time just didn't allow. I think I had maybe on average 1 a week so not many. 2) Is it possible I'm…
  • Really? Get over yourself! Any workout is better than sitting on the sofa doing nothing.
  • "I want you FLOATING off the ground, cos you strong, this is EASY for you" The first time I heard that I wanted to punch her. Then as 30ds level 1 went along and I got fitter, I realised what she meant :)
  • This and also, things like Roller Derby - Are you constantly skating for 90 mins or is that the length of the session? If you've got a HRM you should be able to start/stop when you're actually skating. Don't log day to day activities like cleaning or whatever, that's already taken care of by MFP's initial calculations.…
  • I find that often it's not that I want a whole slice of cheesecake, more just a taste of it. So I'll cut a very thin slice instead. Same goes for chocolate. I recently switched to good quality dark chocolate as you seem to want to eat less, as the flavour is more intense. One square is usually enough for me to get that…
  • I'm onto Level 3 day 4 tonight. Keep going, even if it feels tough. You'll gradually get fitter and everything will start to feel easier. When I was on level 1 I snuck a peek at level 3 and thought i'd die... And well, I'm on level 3 now and i'm still alive :)
  • Before I started I had a date in mind, because I was getting over a cold/cough/sore throat. Then I started looking at more success photos and got impatient waiting for the date, so started anyway. I've now started level 3 and wondering what programme to move onto when i'm finished! Probably going to choose another HIIT of…
  • Finally started level 3 tonight. Seemed to go quickly and whilst it wasn't easy, I actually enjoyed it. Which is more than I can say for level 2. Hated that so much!! Also got the confidence to start using my 3kg (6.6lb) weights for more exercises. Was using 1.5kg (3.3lb) previously and they just felt a bit light, weren't…
  • I agree that people's success photos are inspiring, but be careful referring to them as "thinspiration". The term is very closely associated with anorexia, and the 'skin and bones' photos that some people who are pro-anorexia post for others to aspire to.
  • All the white bread I tried in the states was so sweet compared to brands like Hovis, Kingsmill, Warburtons etc. Maybe the best idea is to bake your own bread? Then you know exactly what's going in it. Also try beans on wholemeal bread. MMmmmm.
  • I guess most of you are in the USA.. In the UK we get bacon like this which you can make lean by cutting the fat off with scissors: and even leaner still - Really good for watching the fat and calories! Can you get this stuff in the USA or only streaky bacon?
  • I thought the idea was that it's sustained exercise for 20-30 mins at a time. If you're breaking it down to do 10-15 in the morning and 10-15 in the evening i'm not sure you'll get the full effect? Unless you meant doing the same full workout twice in one day?
  • I'm having to take one today because i've had 2 jabs in my arm for holiday this evening. Apparently working out after a typhoid jab can make you feel ill :( Otherwise yeah i'm trying hard not to take them.
  • I personally think it's better to drop down a weight if it's too difficult. If you're straining arm muscles and then having to drop down on them to do plank, then you're going to be weak and at risk of injury. Better to build up strength slowly than rush into it. I use different weights depending on the exercise too.
  • I was meant to start Level 2 yesterday but took a rest day. I was busy all day and it got to 11pm and I figured that wasn't a good time to start a new level. It's my first rest day so I didn't feel too bad. Also I did wash and polish the car so was still active :) So I did it first thing this morning. Oh wow. I've had to…
  • Sod it, looked up what you burn doing this activity and added it to the database myself :)
  • Me too! 10 days down, can't believe it! A week ago I was so wobbly and unsteady after doing level 1. This evening I felt like, well i'm warm but was that it? My arms were particularly weak and I had to do the easy push ups for quite a while. Then a few days ago I started trying real ones. First I managed 7, the next day…
  • There are a number of different types of contraceptive pill and people react differently to them. I can't remember which one I was on, but a few years ago I put on 7-14lb from it! I'm on the implant now and doing fine. Talk to your Doctor and they'll know best. Here in the UK it can be difficult to convince them to switch…
  • OH one more thing. I Just wanted to share how excited I was tonight that I could kick myself in the bum with my left leg. Yesss! Gotta work on the other leg doing that.. my right thigh is about an inch bigger than my left, lol, but it's an improvement I think!
  • Just completed day 6 of L1. blehhh. Glass of water then bedtime for me. I'm not planning on taking any rest days. It's only 20 minutes! Too damn right. It's worth powering through the day 3/4 stiffness because even if you take a rest day, your muscles will still be sore the day after that.
  • Is Insanity something you could reasonably expect to start maybe a week or so after completing 30 day shred?
  • I started on 23/1/12 so today will be my day 6 when I get home from work tonight. My start weight (having been on a 1270 cal diet for the week prior) was 156lb, i'm 5'2" so trying to get to 135 and then take it from there. Today is the first day i've woken up and my muscles (particularly my thighs) have felt ok. Waking up…
  • I've got Simple Tuna and Sweetcorn salad for lunch this week. Portions seem a bit off with it (gotta be realistic!) so split into 3. Made easy prawn coconut curry this weekend. LOVELY. However the recipe made LOADS, you'd get 4 portions easily from what they say serves 2! Crispy chicken is nice but doesn't keep too well,…
