Have you discovered how to add new friends? Ive done this before and i am coming back.

Exercise like crazy to replenish your calories or make it a weekly thing and go low the other days of the week. If you keep postponing weight loss till tomorrow, it will never happen.

Do you measure your food? Most likely you are not logging properly, If you were in a calorie deficit, you will never be 98 lbs overweight in the first place. On the question should you eat the remaining calories? If you are not hungry, No, dont eat it back.

I can do 15 easy on cardio days. On other days 10-12. 15 is not that high really...
-
Yep, good idea. :-)

Do stronglifts 5x5 good way for beginners to "find where they are" and good way to improve strength.

If you are not picky, fish would be a good low cal, high protein food. It just might be to icky bringing it to work and warning it up there... But 6 oz of grilled fish and veggies is usually about 250 calories. About 45-50 G protein depending on your veggies.

Negative calories? hmmm so far as I know there is no such thing. Except very cold water which your body needs to "heat up" in order to process.

I feel your pain... I am an ice cream addict too! Look at dreyers slow churned ice cream with 1/2 fat or the caramel praline frozen yogurt tastes good with better macros. Also substitute some ice cream with fruit like grapes, bananas, and apples. I never intend to quit eating ice cream, i just make room for it in my…

Calorie deficit = weight loss... what more can I say?

Your body will turn ALL extra calories into fat. Too much protein can damage kidneys to those predisposed to the condition ie... those with already weak or damaged kidneys. People with gout will also have an adverse reaction to too much protein. Recent studies however show that the reaction is less if you eat naturally…

I dont care what the "studies" say. Everyone knows it can be rigged one way or another depending on who is funding it. The lack of discipline in today's kids correlates with the lack of spanking. Nobody in my time will behave like the kids of today behave. Thank God my kids do not act this way. Yes, I spank if I have to,…

The difference in calorie burn was based on TUT (time under tension). Assuming you are doing the activity right, a person that has the most TUT will have the most calorie burn. Research data shows that increase in strength are happening by training at less than 20 sec of TUT and most hypertrophy happens at training for…

If you only have one day at the gym do a full body. During the weekdays supplement this by doing body weight exercises at home like squats, push-ups, dips, pull-ups and planks. Google some good home body weight exercise program. Good luck.

Water activities are best as they minimize joint impact. If you have to do something dry, try ellipticals and recumbent bikes. Good luck!

Congratulations!

^^Well said. The fancy word you are looking for is "improved muscle fiber recruitment." among other things.

Wow! OP was asking a question if it works or not then you get a lot of sarcastic replies. Its like high school where a new kid asks something and a bunch of "cool kids" put them down in their proper place. Not cool. If you feel inclined to help, tell them your opinion and cut the sarcasm. Most of these people asking the…

^^mostly agree. Lifting at deficit CAN make you increase muscle AND lose fat until you reach about 20% body fat percentage for most people. Some trainers would call this newbie gains. Lifting also increases strength and improves performance when you do your cardio exercises like running or sports, thereby making you burn…
-
If you log your strength training as circuit training, you will over estimate your calorie burn. Circuit training burns more calories than strength training because of the cardio component. If you want to burn calories do cardio, if you want to look good lift weights and forget the calories burned.

^^this I am just really starting to maintain and have been struggling to find the sweet spot. I plan to have a smooth landing and lose the last 5 lbs by half a pound every 2 weeks. I am now switching from weight loss exercises (crazy cardio) to more fit level exercises like strength training and maybe a little muscle…

Basing at your profile pic, that is normal. Once you are near your "normal" weight the effect of water retention is higher. Meaning it can fluctuate by as much as 5 lbs depending on your activity level and hydration. (boxers can lose by as much as 10 lbs during the weigh ins and gain it all back and then some the next day)…

latte, got good protein content with the least calories... I used to choose the sweetest drinks now i can honestly say i have changed... :-)

I started walking with my itunes music or audio books. I made it my "me" time and gave me a chance to just take it easy and relax. I never treated these long walks as exercise or it will quickly just become a chore. If i dont feel like going for a walk i didnt go. The music soothes me and recharges me and guess what... it…

Hmmmm... MFP macros are computed by percentage. Meaning if you put in 2600 cals, MFP will compute how many GRAMS of certain food groups you can eat BASED on the percentages you entered. example, if you put in 50% protein it is equal to 1300 cals from protein or 1300/4 = 325 grams. (computed as 1300 calories / 4 calories…

Wow! Congratulations! You look real good!

^^True

Awesome! Losing that much weight is an incredible feat! Weight training is definitely the way to go then. I did cardio to lose most of my weight too and now I am switching to weight training to lose the last 10. People will say "you are gaining muscle therefore you are not losing weight" that is NOT true. You cannot gain 1…

Do some serious weight training. What I mean by serious weight training is a weight training PROGRAM with progression. There are a lot of them on the internet (SL 5x5 etc) or better yet get a personal trainer if you are new to lifting. (new means you have less than 6 months experience of consistent weight training…
