  • I LOVE IT! The only thing is that if you like lifting, you may need to supplement heavy lifting days to get that in. I am doing blackfire and on my "rest days" or days when I don't have 30 minutes, I do other workouts from other programs which are great. I have also done P90X, Chalean, Insanity, and love Jillian Michaels…
  • Hi ladies. I am just going to say what worked for me and that was to find a wonderfully educated naturopathic doctor who treated my disease and not my symptoms. I too have chronic eczema, hair loss, eyebrow thinning, sudden weight gain while working out harder than ever with no caloric increase. I also had chronic knee…
  • hey ladies. I am 42 years YOUNG and yes it is harder for us gals to lose weight, but very very possible. Every woman is different but for the most part, your metabolism does slow down, so you really need to be active and boost the metabolism. I can only share my experience, but I have relied on strength training to build…

  • Hey Paul. There is something about your spirit that makes me want to root really hard for you. I think it is great that you shared your feelings. If you already ate the grilled cheese, then you need to "let it go". Can you think about maybe bringing your lunch in tomorrow so help avoid temptation? Go for an extra long walk…
  • I will say it again..YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME! I love the honest discussion, the suggestions, and the humor! Also I need to give a big shout out to Taso42 for pointing out that in some cases, people struggle with eating disorders and so for them to eat a "normal amount" for them should be commended. Thanks to most of you for a…
  • Thanks to all who took the time to read and respond. I also appreciate the suggestions about adding commentary to the exercise feeds. I meant what I said...that I respect and admire everyone on this site for making the effort to have a better life and body. I hope some of you will become MFP friends. Congratulations on…
  • @Halerjr23- You're a "hop head" - that is FUNNY!!! I know beer and booze have too many empty calories, but everything in moderation :) Glad you are feeling better.
  • LOL @LynxCOCO - you are my kinda gal. LOVE IT! an Mmiley - heck yes and you can still look great in a little black dress as you are showing the world.
  • The small victories and goals are what keeps us all going. So happy for you. Thanks for sharing a positive story!
  • Glad you introduced yourself. You have nothing but acceptance and support from me. Feel free to add me as a friend. CHeers and best of luck on the journey!
  • Thanks to all for taking the time to read and respond. It helps to know that others understand the little things you do to stay motivated :) I've sent a friend request to each of you. Best of luck on your fitness journeys.
  • All the best to you girl! I loved Insanity, except that I was stupid and didn't focus on "soft landings" and really hammered my knees. I am on Phase 2 of p90X and once I am done I am going to do a hybrid of Insanity/P90X. I hope you enjoy it. Kick butt!
  • Best of luck with your goals! From what you describe with your food intake choices and exercise routine, I really would not worry about losing muscle. Muscle goes away from atrophy or lack of movement/exercise. You seem to be doing great so if anything you will be building lean muscle. And don't worry so much about that…
  • I love P90X but I also think the Yoga is a bit long so I substitute Jillian Michael's Yoga meltdown which gives you the benefits of Yoga but is shorter and incorporates cardio movement. Give it a whirl!
  • I believe that it is possible. What kind of HRM do you have? Is it one where you can periodically check your HR? I have an inexpensive but good one that lets me check my heart rate whenever I want.. With mine, the more frequently you check, the more accurate your reading will be, since it calculates based on actual read…
  • LOL. Let me know how you like the doubles. I am thinking of doing the hybrid Insanity/P90X after I complete the initial program. I really LOVED Insanity. It kicked my BUTT and I felt ALIVE :) Have a great weekend, thanks for the add and let's keep each other going. I love to see strong women doing extreme programs!!!

  • Way to go! Children do as they see and you are a great role model :) I giggled because I have had similiar responses when my 10 year old announced that he loved Brussel Sprouts! If we aren't putting good things into our bodies, how can we expect our children to? Thanks for sharing...
  • Honestly, it completely depends on your heart rate which needs to be tracked during your exercise routine. You should really invest in one and start tracking. Then you can create your own exercises and track actual calories burned. I do P90X and that is the best way to do it. YOu can get an inexpensive HRM at Target or…

  • YOU GO GIRL! I LOVED Insanity. i just started P90X, and when I am done I a going to do the hybrid. I still do some of the cardio/plyo just because it is such a RUSH!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing your successes. CONGRATULATIONS!
  • Hi there. there are a lot of brands out there that make "moisture wicking" clothing. I wear Nike Dri-Fit brand shorts. They are loose and have built in underwear (but you can still wear your own underneath if you want). I paid more for them than I wanted to, but found that there were worth EVERY PENNY! I have since bought…
  • Congratulations on losing 20 pounds! I KNOW that when times are tough, eating is a source of comfort for many of us and I know this sounds couterintuitive, BUT....if you can talk yourself into it..... Go and exercise. Work out. It will help you deal with your stress/anxiety over financial issues. It will (hopefully) remind…
  • There are many causes of exhaustion, but the first thing you need to do is rule out an illness- viral, etc. I strongly recommend that if it doesn't go away after a day or two, that you make an appointment to see your doctor. Unless you have changed something radical in your life - (i.e. taking medication, supplements,…
  • You go girl. I did the 30day shred a couple of years ago, and still incorporate the workouts into my routine. I didn't track my weight/measurements but I can tell you that it did help me get lean and strong. After that, I went on to Insanity and I just started P90X 2 days ago. Jillian is AWESOME and the workouts start to…
  • I just started P90X yesterday also and I cannot wait to do the Plyo workout today! I "prepared" for this by first doing the 30-day shred, then Insanity. I am so happy to see others here who are taking the plunge. Hope we can be a support system for each other. KICK BUTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
