I am able to get my regular workout done during my lunch hour but since I like to indulge a bit more than I should..... Something I just started doing to get a little more bang for my buck is walking in place while watching television. I imagine at some point you sit down with the family to watch a show or even when…

I had one of those scales that would tell me a few different weights depending on how I stood on it. So I was never exactly sure what I weighed. I was also a bit jealous :) to see everyone else logging their .4lb losses so I bought an inexpensive $20 digital scale from walmart and it has worked just fine for me.

I was running the full 30 minutes but was not running the distance. Another month of running and I was able to run 5K but it took me 45 minutes to do.

Absolutely! I eat a few squares of dark chocolate or ice cream every day !!! As long as you stay in a deficit you can eat whatever you want. It really is that simple.

This. It was a few months ago for me and you better believe I was thrilled. No more bath sheet and no more bits and pieces peeking out. You've got to love the little things :) Congratulations :)

I wear the sweatband around my hairline when I run because I sweat pretty bad but now I'm going to check out some of these sites for some trendier ideas !!

This was a revelation for me too. In the past I would have seen that increase and given up not realizing that I didn't really gain 7lbs. Knowledge truly is power!!!

I have a Fitbit Flex (which I love) and my first armband broke after three months so I sent them an e-mail and they sent me a new one right away. I have heard a lot of people say that they have had great experiences with their customer service so hopefully they will take care of this without a problem.

I have a desk job too and while I'm not stuck at my desk like you are I find that I don't move nearly enough. I recently started doing leg lifts sitting right in my chair. I don't really know if that will have an impact but I have to be burning at least a few extra calories and it keeps the blood flowing, making me feel…

Love colby jack cheese sticks. Yum!! Walnuts are a great on the go snack too :)

I have a Flex and I love it. However I do not link the two accounts. MFP is used for logging my food and my Flex is used to monitor my TDEE to ensure that the food I log on MFP is 500 calories below my TDEE for weight loss. Both are tools that you have to assist you in monitoring your food and fitness. Use them in whatever…

That is just awesome!!! Glad that you came back strong and kicked butt :) Remember you will have some days like this but the majority of your runs will be good :flowerforyou:

When Legend of Zelda came out on Nintendo my dad and I mapped everything out. I wonder if he still has those maps?

Oh how I remember the "last supper" or final meal mentality. I went through that so many times, binging on pizza and cake etc the night before starting a diet. It actually makes me cringe now to think have ridiculous it was :) I was sabatoging myself before even getting started :( You have already started strong even…

I prefer the term nerd, thank you very much :) I love to read and play cards and games (Loaded Questions, Taboo, Yahtzee, Mad Gab, Apples to Apples, etc) I like to research all different subjects and sometimes get a bit obsessed with whatever I am currently researching. Geeks/Nerds Unite!!!

You are not alone. I've been at this a year too and it will probably take me all of this year to get to my goal weight. It is exhausting. Some days I really just want to quit but I know I can't as I am still not where I need to be. Then I imagine when I am finally at goal and I will have even less calories to eat and that…

As long as you are moving more then you are doing great!! Walk up those stairs once and then relax, walk up those stairs again, then relax. Rinse and repeat. Throughout an entire day I bet you can get a lot of stairs done!!! Work with what you have. As someone else said you have the internet so look up some routines you…

I'm not sure what you SHOULD do but when I'm sick and not feeling like eating I don't worry too much about my calories. I try to eat something to nurture my body but that isn't too heavy such as chicken soup and drink as much water as I can to stay hydrated. I have found that this keeps me from becoming too weak and…

I'm 5'0" and I'm pretty slow too. It takes me 45 min to run 5K but that is okay with me :) I typically run a 15 min mile on the treadmill and a 13.30 mile outside. As much as I'd like to be faster at this point I am just really proud that I can call myself a runner.

First of all, great job taking on the task of learning to run!!! I did the program back in April and had not ever run before so I totally understand how intimidating it is. Each week I just knew I would not be able to progress to the next week and each week I did. I remember when I realized that my next run was going to be…

When I'm struggling I just keep repeating "You can do this" over and over until it passes. It's simple but gets me through it.

I totally get #4. My husband must think I am so selfish because when he reaches for anything on my plate I give him a very serious look and tell him to step away :)

I managed to escape without receiving any chocolate, that is until today. My husband was out looking for after Christmas sales on inflatables and came home with four, yes four, boxes of chocolate covered cherries that were on sale. I kept one box out and plan to have one or two each day and I hid the rest. I will slowly…

Just get back to it. I was away and ate at maintenance for the last week and did not exercise at all. Today was my first day back home and I immediately started eating at my 500 calorie deficit and went for a 5k run. Back to my routine :)
-
I use my fitbit flex to monitor my TDEE and use MFP to log my food. At the end of the day I just check to ensure that I have a 500 calorie deficit.

The only DVD I have tried is 30 Day Shred. I enjoyed it because it was short and combined strength and cardio. I lost 12 inches and about 5lbs in the 30 days. I thought that was awesome :)

Brag away!!! Great job :)

I too allow myself to have 3 hershey's bliss dark chocolate squares each day!! It helps me to know that I can have them so I don't feel deprived. Personally I like to save them for after dinner :)

I know I'm supposed to say nothing is worth it but..... Cheesy fries, lasagna, peanut butter cheesecake Fortunately I have learned some self control so I won't be eating as much as I previously would have of any of these tasty treats!!
