  • I'm a DD and I wear two bras and do not bounce when I run.
  • I was at about the same point when I got sick and though I probably should have just rested I felt that I had to keep going to stay on schedule so I didn't bail on the program. I thought I was going to die because my chest hurt so much. I did push through though I don't know if that was the best thing to do. You may want…
  • You guys made a very good point about the higher price being based on the additional service provided. I will ask the store for a discount but will not return them if they don't give me one. Thanks for the advice!!
  • I log everything that passes my lips. Those "no calorie" foods do have calories and they add up quickly. Log everything, it gives you a good picture of when and where your calories are coming from and can be a good tool in learning about your health and will help you to tweak things as you progress. Good luck to you!
  • Thanks everyone. I will continue to keep a deficit, workout and work on cleaning up my diet even more!!
  • Thanks guys. I will be running in the new shoes tonight to make sure they really work for me and then I will order from Road Runner Sports at a $35 discount. Will happily return the shoes to the store on Monday. They have the VIP option for only $1.99 for the first year so that is awesome!!!
  • Congrats!! I started the program two months ago and tomorrow I graduate!!! I can totally relate to you elation over running 20 minutes straight. Each time I finish a new week I brag to my husband "now I can run 25min, now I can run 28 min, etc" It is awesome to go from not being able to run at all to running for 30…
  • I always keep a stash of walnuts, fruitcups, peanut butter and apples and string cheese at the office for when I need an extra snack. If not I would hit the vending machine and that would not be good. There is very little that is healthy in it. Also drink some water to fill you up.
  • I'm right around 2 miles right now
  • I started around 235lbs so do not let you weight hinder you. At the beginning I thought for sure I would not be able to complete the next session and I was always able to. Yes, I thought I might die :) but I did it and each time I was successful built my confidence for the next time. Give yourself the benefit of the doubt.…
  • I'm completing the program tomorrow and I can run for the 30 minutes but I am nowhere close to finishing 5k. I figure I will slowly work on my speed or maybe I will just work on running for longer than 30 min. Either way. I'm going to keep working to progress and feel great satisfaction that I can run for 30 min. Yes I am…
  • Don't give up because of your weight!! I started C25K at around 235lbs and I'm now 219 and I am doing fine (yes there is some jiggling) People on here really encouraged me when I started as such a high weight and I want to make sure you know that your weight does not have to prevent you from running. Wish I could help out…
  • I typically eat about 8 oz of protein at dinner. Lunch is usually less during the week maybe 3 or 4 oz. And breakfast is usually eggs and on the weekends bacon. I also eat lots of cheese and some nuts.
  • Thanks again everyone! You all had great suggestions/advice for me. I did eat a banana an hour before and slowed my pace a bit and was able to complete my run tonight no problem. I guess I just need to keep at it and it will become more natural for me. I will take all of your advice and encouragement as I continue to run!!!
  • Just to clarify. I have been doing the C25K program and I am two days away from completing it which means I have been at it for about two months. When I did the 28 minute run on Sat my legs were able to push through but Tues I failed miserably. I just felt like they wouldn't push me any further and I really did push as…
  • I love Hershey's Bliss!!! I usually have three squares each day. Mmmm
  • As you said our bodies fluctuate so even if you had not eaten those foods you might still be showing a "gain" according to the scale. Now add the fact that McDonalds food has sooooo much sodium and you would most definately show a gain but again not a real gain. Just drink lots of water to flush out that sodium. I weigh…
  • Thanks to both of you for responding. I packed some extra fruit and nuts to eat at 4 so hopefully I will be fueled for my 5p run. I already have quite a bit of breads in my diet so I'd rather not add more right now but will try it if the fruit and nuts don't work. My legs aren't sore they just get to feeling exhausted like…
  • I usually drink 15+ cups of ice cold water each day. When I have eaten something high in sodium I try to drink more than that. Yes I spend a lot of time in the ladies room :)
  • Awesome! That's all I have to say. Just Awesome!!!
  • You look great. Wear it with pride!!
  • I use Zen Labs too and I'm on Week 8.
  • I started at 240 so I don't think weight is an issue. Just start slow, find a good program (C25K is what I used) and only do it three days a week so as not to cause injury. Oh and get good shoes. Good luck!!
  • I started around 240 too and thought that I was too fat to succeed. I am starting week 7 tonight!!! I totally surprise myself each week when I think that I can't possibly run any more and I do. On Sat I ran 22 min and tonight is 25 min and I am not scared at all. Have faith in yourself, especially when you get to Week 5…
  • My pooch is slooowwwly getting smaller but there does not really seem an end in sight. Anyone have any magic pills, potion, wraps or something to share? LOL
  • My social life definitely puts a damper on my healthier lifestyle. I don't plan to give up my social life so I have to find a way to incorporate healthier choices when I am out with friends. I try to plan ahead so that I don't overdo it too much. I will usually exercise more before or after to make me feel better about…
  • Congrats on successfully completing your first 5K. You deserved that nap and frozen yogurt!!!
  • This is the one I use too and I like it. The only downside is that if you want to repeat a day or week it doesn't allow you to. So far I haven't had to repeat so it hasn't affected me but if you think you might repeat then you might want to try another app.
