I did it on the treadmill and still run on the treadmill. I am planning to move it outside when the fall comes and I am a bit nervous that it will be harder than I am used to. Maybe do a mix depending on weather???

That is an awesome NSV :) Soooo you tried it on..... Did you and your SO enjoy it :) Wink wink

Yes! Start with what you can manage so that you don't injure yourself. Anything more than you are doing now is a plus!! I started in Jan walking 15 min daily then gradually increased my time up to an hour, then I gradually increased my incline and finally I did the C25K app and now I am jogging three times a week in…

As everyone else already said, I started just walking 15 minutes on the treadmill and gradually added time and then increased incline. Then when I was comfortable with that I did the C25K program to step it up a notch. Take your time, I know you want to see results but slow and steady really does win :) Every 10 minutes…

Yes the allotted number is TDEE-20%. I work a desk job but I consistently exercise 5-6 days per week for an hour to an hour and a half. I would say that I'm putting forth a lot of effort (of course I probably could put forth a little more :)) I typically burn 500 calories M-F and maybe half that on the weekend day. I…

I just had a small cup of ice cream to get my calories in and mmmmmm.

Thanks I'll check it out!

What is the 5k improver program? I have been working to improve and so far just maintaining my 30-35 minute run.

My goal is to lose 15 by Labor Day. That will take me to 199 finally. I think that in order to do that I am going to have to be pretty strict with both my food and my workouts. Hopefully I don't get too many social invites between now and then :)

I'm so glad that I'm not alone in this. I started C25K in April and was able to succesfully complete the running time (30min) but was not running 5K in this time. Since I graduated I have been able to run 35 minutes a few times but mainly just 30. I was hoping that I would have progressed more by now but I will have to…

bump. I just switched to this today.

I totally wish I had that problem. Cheesy fries get me every time. Glad to hear that your body now craves the "good" stuff :)

MMmmmm Sounds delicious. Thanks for sharing, I'm going to try these soon :)

I think sometimes it is harder to get going again once you stop. Sometimes when I am running and get tired I would rather push through then stop and have to face starting again.

I do this too while telling myself "You can do it, you can do it, you can do it"

That is a huge NSV. I bet you were thrilled imagining how great you will look at the wedding. Liking what you see is a big challenge for many of us. Even after the weight has been lost we sometimes struggle to see the reality of how we look. I am so happy for you!!

I'm so glad you started this thread. I was thinking the same thing. The news feed has been down for hours now and I can't catch up with my pals :( I guess I will tell you that there was a huge accident and it took me two hours to get home tonight so I'm mentally exhausted. I usually workout while my husband is making…

bump. I started using the measuring cup method and then switched to weighing it. I'd like to hear what more knowledgable people have to say about this.

When I overeat/binge it tends to take 3-4 days before the water weight goes away. I'm pretty sure that you did not really gain 8lbs in four days. Take some deep breaths, start back eating right and drink lots of water. In a few days I'm sure some of that weight will be gone.

I only lift about 20-30 minutes on M/W/F and then cardio for 45 min and then I run on Tues/Thurs/Sat or Sun. Find what works for you and definitely take a rest day (or two) when you feel you need it.

Awesome!!! Did you win the contest?

I'm a new runner, started C25K in April. I am running Tues/Thurs/Sat or Sun and I typically run 30-35 minutes. I am working on adding time and I want to avoid injury so even when I feel like adding a day I resist the urge. I had my first "easy" run the other day and that was an awesome feeling. In April I could barely run…

Take it slow. Make small changes that you will be able to sustain. Walk for five minutes (or whatever you can do) and gradually add a minute or two. Every day try to go just a little further then the day before. Drink water. Don't try to cut out the "bad" foods, there are no bad foods. Just eat a little less then you did…
